I have finished my 4 day course with Vanity makeup! My God I have learned so much! Going into the course i was nervous. I also thought I knew the basics so it would be easy for me. Boy was I wrong! Ani is the most down to Earth makeup artist out there and an amazing teacher! I learned techniques I didn't know about. I use to watch Youtube videos and thought I was doing makeup correctly but wouldn't look the way I wanted it to look. When I took Vanity's course I realized my techniques were not correct. Ask Ani any question and she will answer. I have asked so many questions, or if I needed help I always asked and she was always kind enough to come help me out! I am beyond happy that I took this course and will miss being in the class! Thank you Ani for teaching me all that I need to know and I also want to thank her Assistants for helping out so much especially Mary!

I was one of Ani's first students to take courses at Vanity Makeup Academy , March 2016 it was. With the education and experience that I got from Ani and her course ( and I must mention that I was a newbie in a makeup artistry) , I felt ready and confident to glam the world and all women around me . The decision to take her course was one of the best decisions of my life and today I'm a successful makeup artist with a big clientele list , doing what I love. In 3 weeks course I learned her amazing technique and tricks, her style of makeup is unique and flawless, and she shared all of that with her students. She also taught us how to use a social media and the growing possibilities in the beauty industry. 3 weeks of education, inspiration and great, fun environment, what more can one ask for from the course? And the kit I got in the class was absolutely amazing, still use it today. I'd definitely recommend VanityMakeupAcademy to everyone looking to become a makeup artist or to learn for themselves, and hopefully there will be a pro-course for ones who graduated, Would love to be back

Words can not express how amazing Ani is. She's absolutely stunning in person and an awesome teacher. I had very little makeup experience prior to her course and was very intimidated walking in, but she literally made me feel at ease and we instantly connected! Most importantly, she gave us a big makeup kit full of tools and products that she uses herself and my makeup skills are now on point. It surprisingly look like I've been doing makeup for years. I highly recommend any newbies or pros to take her class! Xoxo

I was one of anis first students and this course is absolutely amazing all the products were top of the line and she also kept adding onto our kits as we went all the classes were in depth and very detailed she helped us through all of our questions and assisted us fully with anything we need. The best part was that the class was not mechanical it was HUMAN! We laughed we loved we cried at graduation ! Thank you ani for such an amazing course!!! 10000% recommend i keep getting better and better

I was one of Ani's students about a year ago. During the class she was very helpful. After the course Ani has helped me a lot. She always answers her emails when I have questions and tries to support her students in every way. She's even reposted my work on her Instagram story and school page @vanitymakeupschool and it got me followers and clients. Besides her makeup and teaching skills, she is a sweetheart.

First of all I scheduled an appointment with them over the phone days before and got a call a few hours before my appointment that it was cancelled because they won't be taking clients that day. So I had to reschedule. And this was not the first time this had happened. Once they cancelled my appointment when I was already at the school. I am deeply disappointed in the level of service they provide. The students are great and most of the services have been good. The school itself has very bad business practices. I was charged for a service I did not receive because the service ran longer than normal and we had no time. I was told the service would be removed from my bill but that was not the case. I don't believe they practice transparent breakdowns for pricing. Usually pricing is something that is discussed at the beginning of the service, this was not the case for me this visit. While they agreed I did not receive the haircut I was charged for, they tried to say I owed them money for extra color they used. And that they would credit me but then charge me if I ever came back for another service. This is unprofessional and not a legal way of doing business. My receipt is proof of purchase and should reflect exactly what services were rendered. They are disorganized and overwhelmed. I will not be supporting this school and their shady business practices.

I arranged childcare and missed work for this appointment. When I arrived, the front desk staff (not the person who booked me) realized there had been no communication about needing to wash and blow-dry my hair before braiding. I explained that Nancy had never informed me of this, and thankfully the front desk kindly honored the original quoted price. After my hair was washed and blow-dried by Christina, we were about to start braiding when Nancy stormed in and abruptly demanded that the service stop until I paid extra for the wash and blow dry. She was loud, rude, and dismissive -- even putting her hand in my face when I tried to explain the miscommunication. She told me not to speak because she was "talking to her student, not me." She then touched my hair and began making discriminatory comments about its length and thickness, saying that it would "cost more" but refusing to give me an exact price. Instead of resolving the issue, she escalated it, argued, and ultimately instructed the student to stop the service entirely. When I asked for her supervisor, she claimed she was the boss and the supervisor, blocking any accountability -- until I insisted and was finally able to speak to the actual administrator, who was kind and understanding. This unnecessary conflict wasted 25 minutes of my appointment, leaving the students pressed for time and forcing my service to be cut down to 2 braids instead of the 4 I had booked. I want to be clear: the students and instructors were professional, kind, and compassionate throughout this. The only problem was Nancy Lopez. Her behavior was unprofessional, hostile, and completely unacceptable in an educational or customer-facing environment. I will be reporting her to the board for her conduct. If you book services here, please know the students are talented and respectful, but the administration -- at least under Nancy Lopez -- is another story.

When we initially registered for the program, we had a conversation with Ms. Keisha, the program's owner, to understand the details and expectations. During this conversation, we were provided with some information, but there were significant omissions. Keisha informed us that my daughter would complete 200 hours of theory and practical training at Simply Divine and then seek an additional 3200 hours of apprenticeship in any salon of her choosing. It was explicitly stated that Simply Divine did not interfere with the salon's operations and that my daughter would need to work out the apprenticeship details directly with the chosen salon owner. However, our frustration and difficulties began when we started searching for a salon to continue my daughters training after her 200 hours at Simply Divine had ended. Many salon owners were unwilling to work with apprentices, creating substantial barriers. My primary grievance with this program is the lack of transparency that we encountered, particularly from Keisha the program owner. Important details were withheld, and we feel that this may have been deliberate, with the intention of securing payment while making it extremely challenging for any student to find a suitable place for apprenticeship. To make matters worse, my daughter was informed that the hours she had completed at Simply Divine are not transferable to any other institution. This means that, if she cannot find a suitable trainer to complete her remaining hours as an apprentice, she would need to start all over again at a different educational institution. This revelation comes as a substantial financial burden for my family, particularly considering the high cost of gas. I believe that Keisha, being the professional in this field and the program's owner, has a moral and ethical obligation to provide potential participants with comprehensive details about the program. Failure to do so takes advantage of the ignorance of individuals, particularly young and naive students like my daughter. I am a single mother, and we were overjoyed when Kennedy had the opportunity to attend cosmetology school at a reduced cost. However, we have encountered numerous roadblocks along the way, making us question the value of this endeavor. Now, at the end of the apprenticeship, we have no place for my daughter to complete her training, and the hours she has already completed are non-transferable. This situation has incurred significant physical toll on me. I struggle with leg circulation making driving painful difficult however I scarified my physical health because we saw this opportunity as a blessing. When I spoke to Keisha the owner she was provoking, rude, unwilling to help us find a solution. I asked Keisha if my daughter can do her apprenticeship hours at simply divine and her exact words were "no I do not train anymore". I also asked if she can refer a salon since she has worked many years in this field and her answer was "no". She basically did not care per her own words "she did her part". My daughter was so happy to pursue on of her goals to be a licensed cosmologist and I feel really bad that all the work and hours she has put in does not count for anything. Be careful dealing with this school and program owner do your research and do not make the same mistake we made.

My daughter has learning differences , not on the spectrum. We had complained about a boy who my daughter said was obsessed with her. We requested for her to not be in the same classroom as this boy, request denied. Then one day her mood shifted and she cried every morning not wanting to go to school. She couldn't tell us what happened. It was too traumatic for her to voice it. She was in 4th grade. Her behavior was very anxious and not able to stay in the classroom. They tried to accommodate her by spending time in the principles office. She was still not able to stop panicking. We had to take her out. 5 years of therapy later it was revealed she was sexually assaulted in the bathroom by the boy. She is still traumatized by it and probably always will be. We have been through hell. Suicide attempts , inability to focus, an eating disorder etc etc etc. she is now in 10th grade having to be held back a year because of lost class time due to the trauma. And disgustingly this was not an isolated instance. The one family we became close to who also left discover the same boy sexually assaulted their son. I'm not saying the school itself is awful in sure there are amazing experiences and caring teachers. And for many we met there this is the only option so you naturally choose to accept or maybe turn a blind eye to red flags. I don't know if the head of school has changed but she was awful.
