First of all I scheduled an appointment with them over the phone days before and got a call a few hours before my appointment that it was cancelled because they won't be taking clients that day. So I had to reschedule. And this was not the first time this had happened. Once they cancelled my appointment when I was already at the school. I am deeply disappointed in the level of service they provide. The students are great and most of the services have been good. The school itself has very bad business practices. I was charged for a service I did not receive because the service ran longer than normal and we had no time. I was told the service would be removed from my bill but that was not the case. I don't believe they practice transparent breakdowns for pricing. Usually pricing is something that is discussed at the beginning of the service, this was not the case for me this visit. While they agreed I did not receive the haircut I was charged for, they tried to say I owed them money for extra color they used. And that they would credit me but then charge me if I ever came back for another service. This is unprofessional and not a legal way of doing business. My receipt is proof of purchase and should reflect exactly what services were rendered. They are disorganized and overwhelmed. I will not be supporting this school and their shady business practices.

I arranged childcare and missed work for this appointment. When I arrived, the front desk staff (not the person who booked me) realized there had been no communication about needing to wash and blow-dry my hair before braiding. I explained that Nancy had never informed me of this, and thankfully the front desk kindly honored the original quoted price. After my hair was washed and blow-dried by Christina, we were about to start braiding when Nancy stormed in and abruptly demanded that the service stop until I paid extra for the wash and blow dry. She was loud, rude, and dismissive -- even putting her hand in my face when I tried to explain the miscommunication. She told me not to speak because she was "talking to her student, not me." She then touched my hair and began making discriminatory comments about its length and thickness, saying that it would "cost more" but refusing to give me an exact price. Instead of resolving the issue, she escalated it, argued, and ultimately instructed the student to stop the service entirely. When I asked for her supervisor, she claimed she was the boss and the supervisor, blocking any accountability -- until I insisted and was finally able to speak to the actual administrator, who was kind and understanding. This unnecessary conflict wasted 25 minutes of my appointment, leaving the students pressed for time and forcing my service to be cut down to 2 braids instead of the 4 I had booked. I want to be clear: the students and instructors were professional, kind, and compassionate throughout this. The only problem was Nancy Lopez. Her behavior was unprofessional, hostile, and completely unacceptable in an educational or customer-facing environment. I will be reporting her to the board for her conduct. If you book services here, please know the students are talented and respectful, but the administration -- at least under Nancy Lopez -- is another story.

When we initially registered for the program, we had a conversation with Ms. Keisha, the program's owner, to understand the details and expectations. During this conversation, we were provided with some information, but there were significant omissions. Keisha informed us that my daughter would complete 200 hours of theory and practical training at Simply Divine and then seek an additional 3200 hours of apprenticeship in any salon of her choosing. It was explicitly stated that Simply Divine did not interfere with the salon's operations and that my daughter would need to work out the apprenticeship details directly with the chosen salon owner. However, our frustration and difficulties began when we started searching for a salon to continue my daughters training after her 200 hours at Simply Divine had ended. Many salon owners were unwilling to work with apprentices, creating substantial barriers. My primary grievance with this program is the lack of transparency that we encountered, particularly from Keisha the program owner. Important details were withheld, and we feel that this may have been deliberate, with the intention of securing payment while making it extremely challenging for any student to find a suitable place for apprenticeship. To make matters worse, my daughter was informed that the hours she had completed at Simply Divine are not transferable to any other institution. This means that, if she cannot find a suitable trainer to complete her remaining hours as an apprentice, she would need to start all over again at a different educational institution. This revelation comes as a substantial financial burden for my family, particularly considering the high cost of gas. I believe that Keisha, being the professional in this field and the program's owner, has a moral and ethical obligation to provide potential participants with comprehensive details about the program. Failure to do so takes advantage of the ignorance of individuals, particularly young and naive students like my daughter. I am a single mother, and we were overjoyed when Kennedy had the opportunity to attend cosmetology school at a reduced cost. However, we have encountered numerous roadblocks along the way, making us question the value of this endeavor. Now, at the end of the apprenticeship, we have no place for my daughter to complete her training, and the hours she has already completed are non-transferable. This situation has incurred significant physical toll on me. I struggle with leg circulation making driving painful difficult however I scarified my physical health because we saw this opportunity as a blessing. When I spoke to Keisha the owner she was provoking, rude, unwilling to help us find a solution. I asked Keisha if my daughter can do her apprenticeship hours at simply divine and her exact words were "no I do not train anymore". I also asked if she can refer a salon since she has worked many years in this field and her answer was "no". She basically did not care per her own words "she did her part". My daughter was so happy to pursue on of her goals to be a licensed cosmologist and I feel really bad that all the work and hours she has put in does not count for anything. Be careful dealing with this school and program owner do your research and do not make the same mistake we made.

I did finish with 70 credits with a 3.0 GPA although, when it comes to counseling and class advisory, they're not much help unfortunately. Basically for the most part, you do have to figure it out on your own. I generally did have a good experience and education at PCC. Especially with understanding with how music works when it comes to theory. Some of the learning is hands on and off. When it comes to college social life, if I'm being honest, it was great to make the connections I did...although, I should've mainly focused on trying to further my education rather than distracting myself. Other than that, it's generally a good community college if you're coming out of high school and a beautiful campus in my opinion.

What transpired there with my daughter has essentially ruined her life. My daughter has learning differences , not on the spectrum. We had complained about a boy who my daughter said was obsessed with her. We requested for her to not be in the same classroom as this boy, request denied. Then one day her mood shifted and she cried every morning not wanting to go to school. She couldn't tell us what happened. It was too traumatic for her to voice it. She was in 4th grade. Her behavior was very anxious and not able to stay in the classroom. They tried to accommodate her by spending time in the principles office. She was still not able to stop panicking. We had to take her out. 5 years of therapy later it was revealed she was sexually assaulted in the bathroom by the boy. She is still traumatized by it and probably always will be. We have been through hell. Suicide attempts , inability to focus, an eating disorder etc etc etc. she is now in 10th grade having to be held back a year because of lost class time due to the trauma. And disgustingly this was not an isolated instance. The one family we became close to who also left discover the same boy sexually assaulted their son. I'm not saying the school itself is awful in sure there are amazing experiences and caring teachers. And for many we met there this is the only option so you naturally choose to accept or maybe turn a blind eye to red flags. I don't know if the head of school has changed but she was awful. Good luck!
