At my wit's end, their appeal to caring for the caregiver immediately caught my attention! I filled out the questionnaire and got a quick response from the owner who completely understood my circumstance and knew he could help. And that's just what happened. Within days, FirstLight had identified someone who might be a good fit and she was. Then the pandemic hit and having someone to watch my loved one when I couldn't was invaluable. Unfortunately, that person changed careers and it did take some time to find another good fit, but that new fit was extraordinary. All through the months I worked with FirstLight, they were accessible by phone and definitely on the job in terms of questions or concerns. They are a small agency, which I like, but it can take a bit to find just the right person and for them to be available to a new client. Communication between the alternate caregiver, who was experienced in elder care and familiar with hospice, was direct and consistent. Both Admin and Ownership were always on the other end of the phone. It was a pleasure to find FirstLight, even so late in our journey but they made the final few months easier. Highly recommended!

No clear reason was given why they were dropping her. Three different people gave us three different answers there. This agency clearly has no empathy for the persons they are supposed to be caring for. We were led to believe that her services would continue until they transferred her to a different home care agency, but instead they just abruptly stopped her skilled nursing, and home health aide services leaving us scrambling to find another provider. Pathetic. Communication horrible. Call backs and phone messages ignored.

The people who look after my mother are incredibly kind and loving. We've used other agencies and had other folks in our home that are just there to go through the motions... Visiting Angels provide TRUE companionship for the elderly. They talk, the listen, they care and the respond. Most importantly for me is that I have a great caseworker who keeps me in the loop with things that occur in the house. She is a great resource for suggestions on how to handle tricky situations and also a great resource to coordinate things like food deliveries and other things that take place in the house while I am away. If you are reading this you have a loved one that needs support, it is a stressful situation and you sometimes feel like anything you do will be a mistake. I'm here to say that Visiting Angels eliminated so much of that anxiety for my family. Please engage with them and see how they can do the same for you.
