When I was there they were out of Pilsner Urquell and only had Kozel. Surprisingly (for how old school the place is) they do take card. I had chicken with mashed potatoes and really enjoyed it. The chicken was incredibly moist and well-cooked, and the mashed potatoes were tasty. The beer was poured well and was a refreshing accompaniment to the meal. I also had a cucumber salad on the side which was basically just cucumber slices in a very mild "brine" if you can even call it that. Pretty unexciting side dish but for 40 ck I can't complain. Prices for everything are unbeatable, haven't had another meal this cheap in Prague. Toilet was a little gross, the seating area is bare bones, and as expected there's no WiFi or anything. But again for the prices you can't ask for much. Would definitely return here.

The waiter was incredibly kind by providing a me a table outside, and directing me inside to order. He recommended the breakfast Karlin, which I decided to opt for. I also ordered a slaný šnek with bacon pastry and a cold brew coffee. My first time having the pastry and I was delighted with the tasted. A pleasant sight and an even better taste. Tasting the cold brew was quite the experience as well. Wonderful tasting coffee and the euphoric caffeine kick which accompanied it. At this time, I was also able to dig into some of their lemonade which was fermented. Tasting like a kombucha, it was delicious and settled my stomach incredibly. The Karlin breakfast came out soon after, about 10 minutes later. Sizable to say the least, it was two eggs on bread with their marinated trout. Eggs tasted wonderfully, fish tasted fresh, and smothered in the hollandaise created a delicious breakfast. Following that, I dug into the curd cheese with berries. So sweet and perfect in portion to end a meal, I savored every bite. A wonderful covered outdoor seating area, fresh local ingredients, and diverse dishes of every kind made for a great experience here. The kindness the staff showed, and calm atmosphere facilitates the perfect environment for the food to dance in. I'm so glad I tried out this place and it offered some of the best breakfast I have had in Prague.

We were brought a small basket of hearty bread (along with an excellent bottle of olive oil) that we quickly devoured. For lunch, I ordered the tomato soup and salmon while hubby got the beef with truffles (barf)! The tomato soup was the star of the meal. It was well seasoned with bold flavors and tasted fresh and bright. It was a thick tomato puree topped with olive oil and pesto. The beef with truffles was presented beautifully but hubby deemed it a little disappointing. He said it tasted fresh but bland. My salmon was very undercooked for my taste but I know medium-rare is the order of the day when it comes to poached salmon. The portion size was ridiculously small too. Nothing was bad but nothing was great either. The food was serviceable and filled our bellies, but the only thing I'd ever want to have here again would be the tomato soup. This is the Czech Republic and smoking is allowed in doors so the entire place was super smoky. It's a European shock to the system for most Americans, so you need to be aware that there WILL be people lighting up right next to you. You simply can't avoid it here.
