I come to this shop often (like once or twice a week- often) and I've always had great service. But today I was sold a device that didn't work from the get-go. I opened the package and the device was malfunctioned/ manufacturing error. I brought it back on my lunch break and the guy working said there wasn't anything he could do about it since it was 'used' If you consider something being opened and returned within the span of 2.5 hours as used, then that's on you. But it's kind of impossible to 'use' a product that doesn't work. Would have been cool for an in store credit/ even exchange/ money back since again, I didn't even get a chance to use the product. Normally this is my favorite shop to go to but they now no longer will exchange defective producys they sell you. Sold me a busted cartridge. I opened it right outside the store and went right back in. Hadnt even used it and found that the cartridge was leaking and exploded. They wouldnt even exchange it since it was defective when they sold it to me a mibute before. Wont be going back. I dont have enoygh money to be ripped off by defective carts all the time. Vapor maven on MLK fayetteville is knowingly selling a defective product, and displaying it as a 50% sale. I really believe this is some kind of illegal, deceptive business practice. My wife noticed a sale of disposable vapors for $8 and figured she would be a couple. My wife didnt believe that a business would knowingly sell defective product, the clear underlined font on the display of "NO RETURNS" never processed as a thought. The employee told me that based on his experience with the discontinued product 50% of them don't work. I am lead to believe that the business knowingly knows of the defective product! Based off of my conversation with the employee, the businesses current attempt to discontinue the product, and the wording of SOLD AS IS , "NO REPLACEMENTS"(underlined). On our way home from purchasing 2 of these defective SEA XL disposable vapors, I told My wife I'd go in and exchange it for another "Working" product. Only to find out from the employee running the shop that day that there are "NO RETURNS", no exchanges, no cash back. How is it not an illegal business practice to knowingly deceive customers in an attempt for the business (Vapor Maven) to reclaim the products purchasing cost. A deceptive eye catching deal of 50% off would draw anyone in, especially anyone who was raised around the incredible deals walmart always has. Would it not make more of a legitimate business practice to also incorporate in the advertisement that the device may not work? This would only give the customer a transperant understanding that this 50% deal may not really be worth it. I've spent $1000's over the years at Vapor World/ Vapor Maven but the willingness of this business to essentially knowingly scam me for something so small frustrates me. I am done spending cash there since the owner can't be honest about a product and trick loyal customers in an attempt to reclaim a financial loss. A single store can generate over half a million a year, why would the owner cheat customers off of a $4,000-$5,000 wholesale cost. read more

Vapor Maven, Beltway - St. Joseph. MO So our original visit went well. Helpful, friendly and decent knowledge resulted in purchasing a Mod, tank, batteries, juice, etc. $147.43 bucks... We received no receipt. As a rule I don't stress about this because I have my CC statement as proof of purchase. Fast forward 17 days... read: 17 days... The Mod sold to us as "bullet proof" and "the one all the construction workers buy" all but blew up on us. hint: "GeekVape" I'll explain. Worked great, set down on counter and it started all by itself. The mod fired on it's own and wouldn't stop. We quickly removed the batteries. waited and re-inserted them. The Mod refused to come on. We fiddled a bit, searched the internet for common problems to no avail. Seems the not coming back on is a common problem with this particular mod. We re-visit Vapor Maven on the Beltway in the strip mall. Not a small task as we live in Kansas. Austin is on duty (manager?) We explain the problem, he says "OH, IT AUTOFIRED"!!! he asked for a receipt, I explain I did not receive one but not a problem, I have the purchase info here on my CC ledger. He says he has to call "corporate" and after a phone call tells me looking up the receipt is no problem with the CC#. He then explains a return needs a receipt and probably not much he can do. I explain that we're interested in an exchange, not a refund. AND if he can practice good customer appreciation we'll even buy a back up Mod. Come back in half an hour. I would like to point something out to the readers here. if a MOD comes on, heats up and fires on it's own without stopping, enough times that there is a term for it (autofire), that is a problem that someone is already aware of. ok Half hour later we arrive again. Austin is on the phone talking about us. He hunts and pecks on the register while on the phone. Then exclaims, oh it's been 17 days. 2 days past warranty... wait - what? He stops searching at that point, hims and haws on the phone and hangs up. Says to me, the best I can do is offer you a 25% discount. I explain to him one of two things are going to happen. We exchange the Mod, at which time my faith is restored, as I buy a back up mod from you and we walk out lifetime customers. or You tell me all you can do is a 25% discount and I leave, call my CC and dispute the charges based on selling me a defective and dangerous item that could very well have caused us bodily harm. Austin says, my hands are tied. your past your two week warranty as is stated on the receipt. sorry. ok, did you read this: Austin at no point explored his options with corporate. Gave up his conversation with "Corporate" after hearing two days past warranty. Doesn't scare that he sold us a dangerous Mod Quoted a receipt printed notice of warranty to me of which I received NO COPY OF. Stuck to two days past warranty and decided not to champion his customer with "corporate" So, what happens next? We leave, never to return again. I initiate a CC dispute while parked in the parking lot. An investigation is open and on going. Horrible service after the sale Despicable Customer appreciation Deplorable attention to the potential dangerous situation the MOD they sold us (and continue to sell) presented to one of their customers. I gave them every opportunity to do the right thing and they FUBARed it. Shame on you Vapor Maven. We are now happy customers of a trustworthy Vape shop just north of you oh, and $200 buck poorer but... Happy. read more

Was sold a device that the sales guy stated would work, however when I got home and tried it did not. It was for drop in tanks and I have a regular 510 screw on tank. I took it back to return it and was told they do not do returns only exchanges for equal value or higher. So I said I would come back to speak with the manager as this is not found anywhere written down for customers to know. I returned a week later to give in and exchange it and the same sales guy from a week earlier called the manager and the manager said they could not as it was used. Bought a vape and it didn't work the same day I tried to get my money back and they wouldn't let me

Place has horrible customer service. Bought a vape pen and batteries and charger there. Got home and realized there is batteries included with my vape pen and charger. Decided to take the extra battery and charger back next day unopened. They refused to take them back and said all sales final even though it was Not opened and I had my receipt. Horrible experience. I've driven past this place a couple times now and wanted to give it a try. When you walk in... the place is filled with vapor so thick its hard to see, there are glass counters and walls lined with liquid and different brand names. Its all a bit overwhelming. They seem to have alot of different types of flavors, house made ones and brand name. They also have a table where you can try all the flavors before you buy it, which i thought was cool. You can also choose the amount of nicotine you want in your oil which is convenient. The only reason i didnt give this place a higher rating is because i didnt really feel welcome there. As soon as i walked in, everyone got quiet and just turned to stare at me. Noone really said hi. There were about 7 kids just standing around. (When i say kids, i mean 17-20 years old) who look like they just got out of school and use the store as a place to hang out. I felt like i was "intruding" in on these kids hang out spot or something. Im not much older than them, but I felt extremely akward as soon as i walked in. The employee even had to tell them to get off the couch so i could sample some flavors. The whole time i felt like i was providing service for myself, i even asked them what their favorite flavors were and they all just stared at me blankly... until one of them said, "who are you asking?" i responded, "anyone." Finally one of the kids told me his favorite was called "code pink" I picked out a couple liquids, and even as i checked out they were huddled around the cash register just talking and ignoring me. I dont know if they were just akward or shy, but it made me feel weird. I dont know who owns that place but i feel like its really unprofessional to have kids hanging out and mean mugging everyone who walks in. You will never get new customers who are willing to spend money that way. All you will get is a place for kids to hang out after class. Maybe if those kids were more welcoming and helped newbies understand vape culture more, i wouldnt mind them being there. But because they were so stand-off ish, i got the feeling that i wasnt welcome there. The employee who helped me was very nice, and much more talkative to me. He helped with my questions, but i kind of felt like i had to initiate the conversation. He didnt go out of his way to make any suggestions or to show me how anything worked, but he was very polite and nice. Hes the only reason im giving this place any stars at all, because he was cute and nice to me, and was one of the few people who made me feel somewhat welcome being there. If you want to make this place successful, dont let it become a hang out spot for kids. Get employees who are willing to initiate conversations with customers and provide them with a more personal experience. Have employees sit down with the customer and talk to them about the products your selling, push some suggestions of which flavors you like best. Ask the the customer what flavors they like or why they decided to vape. Thats how you build a clientele and get repeat business. Not by letting your friends chill there after class and putting out anti-social vibes to your paying customers. Sorry to be the first review, and to give a bad one. But i think this place could be really cool for vaping if you tune the settings and vibes that your giving out to new customers. Maybe some of those kids arent just loitering and are actually buying stuff, but to an outsider, they made the whole thing akward. ................ They are never open at the time they are supposed to be open. I've gone to the Farmington, MO and Cape Girardeau MO ones several times and as often as not, they are not open at 9am as they are supposed to be. I've wasted a ridiculous amount of gas driving to these places to then find them not even open when the sign says they are supposed to be. Terrible service. I walk in to ask a few questions about my new vaporizer (that I bought at the OP location) and 3 guys are behind the counter "working". They are talking amongst each other and no one acknowledges me as I walk in. I gander around looking, and eventually have to interrupt their conversation to try and get some help. Each looks at me like I'm crazy for interrupting them, then they put as little effort as possible into their responses to my questions. On top of that crappy service, they were out of Herakles tanks, the eVic VT, and didn't have the juice I was looking for. I won't ever be back to this location. read more

Bought a vape, coils, and juice and about 6 days later my juice still 60% full began to smell and taste like stinky feet instead of fruit. Juice lasts weeks once opened, usually. I was nearby the store so I stopped in to ask about it, store employee smelled my juice and said exactly that smells like feet. She said that they have a no return, no exchange, no replace policy. I asked to speak with the manager and see what he thought about it. He's on the phone with me and says he can do nothing. I asked if he could return the unused portion as defective, give a discount on a replacement or anything, he again said no and that it's their policy. Mind you when you purchase a Vape they ask you to try it in the store to make sure it works because if you walk outside they can't do anything for you if it doesn't work, this shows they can return defective products as can any retail store to their vendors. I said okay but I felt it was bad customer service. He became really upset and claimed I had harassed the store employee and now him, which I had not. I stated that every business can expect some loss in the name of customer service and that I had patronized his business three times in the last week when I could have just gone online and saved about 1/2. He told me to give the phone back to the store employee and get out of his store and never come back. Guess I'll do my business online or elsewhere. At the end of the day the juice is $17 in their store, cost likely $8. I'd have been happy to pay cost plus 10% or something. This was simply a defective product and of nobody's fault. They have been out of my particular atomizer for weeks and its a totally popular and common brand and i was told they were phasing them out but they havent replaced it with anything...not even a sales pitch to buy anything else!..the only employee I've dealt with consistently (new manager?) is disinterested, not helpful, and i feel like I'm wasting HIS time. I passed thru Sedalia Mo's Vapor World Memorial Day weekend and it was FANTASTIC! I wish I had that Vapor World in N KC. So, after a breeze easy time at the DMV this morning, I decided to go over to Vapor World on North Oak to get another bottle of Five Pawns Castle Long. I drive the extra 20 minutes out of my way (KC Vapes is right around the corner from my house) to check this place out on the recommendation that my pants would shrink a little when I saw their assortment of various vaporizing products. Needless to say, my pants fit just fine. I walked in to a cloud of smoke and approximately 7 teeth amongst four people; all of which had their generational stereotypical flat billed hats and gigantic cargo shorts. When I made my way to the counter to have a seat and look over their menu (which, in most vape shops someone hands it to you or at least says hello to you) the very large child behind the counter blew a nice cloud at the table which went up to my face, not allowing me to see the menu. Still to this point I seeming like I am completely invisible to anyone in this dive, I continue looking over their menu quickly before another storm gets ta brewin'. I finally find my Castle Long, place the menu down on the "Bar" and stare blankly, puffing away at my own vape (of which has my oil as I have not been offered any flavors, a mouthpiece condom or even a glance acknowledging my existence on this planet). After about five minutes of staring, the kids decide to start talking about their guns. Homeboy on my side of the "Bar" breaks out his sweet, fully loaded clip and hands it to homechicken on the other side of the "Bar", of which he takes and poops a few rounds out of the clip to inspect them (Because I am positive with this dude's knowledge of vaporizers and vaporizer accessories must mean he is an expert gunsmith and ammo specialist as well). Well, then homeboy decides he wants to show homechicken the gun that goes with said clip. So, he gets up and goes out to his vehicle to obtain the weapon. While homeboy is at gone, I begin to think "Finally, I can get my shit and get out of here!", but boy was I wrong. Homechicken sat behind the counter waiting, puffing and being completely oblivious to the world around him except his vape which he seems to treat in the same way Golem treated his "precious". Homeboy comes back in a few minutes later and flops the gun out on the counter, cocks the hammer and begins to describe the piece in the same way a cop would describe a beating to other cops. My patience is beginning to run thin at this point, but luckily the conversation about the gun ended shortly thereafter (Keep in mind I am starring at the fool like I'm trying to read his mind). He finally decides that I am a real person and asks "You know whatcha want?" I told him that I did and asked for the Castle Long. He looks and tells me they only have 18MG and 6 MG, I take the 6 and go to the counter. He then proceeds to tell me that "We ain't carryin this no more". I asked why and he said "nobody buys it except you. Well, and some chick over at Starbucks". I pay for my juice and I leave, never to return again. Now, for homechicken, I will explain why. This place has horrible customer service compared to Waldo Vapes and KC Vapes (Liberty location). When I walk into those stores they make me feel welcom, not second guessing whether or not the guy sitting next to me will "accidentally" shoot me. They greet me when I walk in the door and if they are busy, they convey that information and ask me kindly to wait. Then when someone is free, they help me by letting me try flavors, asking what kind of flavors I like and maybe a little personal chit chat or some friendly banter, if you will. They inform me of their programs and rewards, offer me coupons and generally treat me like I am a paying F'ing customer. Oh and they don't try to charge me 2X the amount written on the bottom of the bottle!!!! Homechicken told me the bottle was $40.00! Funny thing is, on the bottom of the bottle the price tag says "$27.99" . I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy go into this establishment to take a piss on the floor. I feel most sorry for the Starbucks next door; I am positive the bad service has made all the coffee beans go bad, hanging out with the wrong crowd and doing cocoa all night. My only real regret is that I got BETTER SERVICE AT THE DMV! To the owners of this establisment, I believe it is time for a change in employees. Knowledge of a product within someone does not automatically make them great at customer service. read more

This location did a complete 180 for the worse after switching ownership recently. I went in about 1 week ago to purchase coil replacements and a juice bottle. Left the store empty handed after waiting a while for service - the employee started doing another consultation with another customer after he had waited on me and then got distracted with a shipment that had just gotten in. I had everything that I needed finally and I was ready to go by the cash register - was completely ignored so I simply walked out. I went in today hoping for a better experience...my experience was even worse than last time. I have determined that the rep in there (tall, heavy set guy with medium length hair) has little to no product knowledge, has no customer service experience and does not give a flying rat's ass about his job...he is also a complete narcissist and his language is foul and offensive. Told him that after the ownership switch a few things had changed there that were inconvenient for his clientele. His answer was: "well, there is another Vape Shop less than a mile from here". Asked him if he didn't mind losing a customer. His response "you wouldn't be the first one". Done with that place!! read more
