If you're like me and love smoothies or juices, check out Vara juice. The owner is very nice, offering free refills or samples sometimes and the staff are knowledgeable about their products. I got their pink burst smoothie. It's definitely got a sour kick to it (not too much) from the zesty lemon and pomegranate juice.

This is a small juice shop located in a plaza on the corner of 15 and Ryan. The space is designed very minimally and has only limited barstool seating along the edges of the shop. Very clean and tidy. The staff member who helped me today was incredibly sweet. She was very patient despite me taking forever to figure out what to order and asking a bunch of questions. They have a large selection of fresh juices to choose from, as well as smoothies blended with ice cream. I opted for the fresh watermelon juice and it was perfect- they use real watermelon and blend it with a little bit of ice and very slightly sweeten it with sugar. They also add tiny cubes of watermelon within the drink that elevate it even further. I will say the price is a bit heavy for a fruit drink, but I think I would've been more upset if it wasn't good. I would definitely get this again, especially during the summer time because it was exactly what I wanted in a watermelon drink.

Absolutely love this place, newly renovated with alot of open seating and great ambiance and vibes! Store owner always super welcoming, I love their fruit salads and lemon mint is my personal favorite drink on their menu! When I first went to Vara Juice, I came with my friends on a whim, and Lara and Dunya really made us feel at home. The ambiance was spectacular with the green vibe. I've ordered the Diet Juice and they made it to perfection, and even offered complimentary waters. They were the best, and I highly recommend going! read more

I hate to be that person... but I feel this is necessary and this was my experience. Last Thursday June 11th 2026 I went to this location and got a fruit salad. I started eating and everything was great until I tasted the pineapple. It tasted like it possible soaked up cleaning Products... I don't know how but it did. So I called and everything was resolved, and I was issued a new fruit salad. Come today Monday June 15th. I get my fruit salad and there's hair in it .......... Looked for a smoothie in the area. Service was solid, pricing was fine, they had good quality seating. The BB smoothie I got tasted great. They don't use powders - they use real ingredients, which is important to me personally. For those that care (like me): This spot does not have green smoothies, only green juices. So if you're looking for a green smoothie, go elsewhere - it was the reason I took one star off. Otherwise, you'll love Vara's! read more

Delicious!! I got the pineapple and orange juice and it was so good. You could see them blending fresh fruits in front of you and the fruits were great quality. Awesome. Would come again. Hit the spot. And when you think about how fresh it is it's actually a good price. read more

The watermelon juice looks fantastically refreshing here. They are open until 10pm. Odd. I received a text that my order was ready as I pulled in and parked. Odd since I hadn't even put my order in at all. I walked in and up to the counter and ordered a watermelon juice and a mango and strawberry juice. The fruit is all made from fresh fruit here. Bright interior. There are chunks of watermelon in my juice. It's pretty good. The chunks are all at the bottom of my cup. The frozen juice is all on top. It's so refreshing. The mango and strawberry smoothie is decent. Reasonably priced. Good service and quick too. read more

Came in earlier based on an advertisement I saw. I feel they were misrepresenting the advertisement I seen. The drinks were always ok, my daugher seems to love this place. The service is misleading. Not sure if I'll be coming back to this location. read more

When I complained because my bowl wasn't filled all the way they "fixed it" by just slapping some more açaí and pitaya. Just go to another playa location not worth it. I got really bad stomach ache and I usually don't ever from playa when I eat there but from this one I did. Like honestly a bowl doesn't have to be picture perfect I get also all my fruit got covered by the slapped in açaí and pitaya but it's there. I forgot to get a picture of what it looked like before but it looked the equivalent of just under 1/2 eaten. Just go to Rochester or Bloomfield I've never had issues like that before at either of those places even when those places are slammed.

Rita's reminds me of my childhood. The sweet icy delight my family used to always get in the summertime or when on vacation in Ocean City or Virginia Beach. The store is clean with a few tables and chairs if you choose to enjoy your treat inside. Only one employee was working today and offered me samples of flavors to try. The Italian ice is both dairy and gluten free however the custard is not vegan. While many flavors contain artificial dye like red 40 they have an all natural line that contain no artificial coloring and are made with real fruit and juices. The all natural line includes limited flavors- strawberry, banana, orange, strawberry banana, pineapple and cranberry. Flavors rotate weekly with one sugar free version available. Lots of different menu options such as parfait/gelati, sundaes, misto shake, blendini drink, frozen coffee and plain custard in cones or in a cup. Nutrition info can be found on the website and calorie are posted inside the store on the menu board. My Italian Ice was delicious and I definitely will be returning for my favorite childhood summer treat!
