At the same time someone knocks on my door for a meeting and I hit the screen to take it off speakerphone. I hit the hang-up button accidentally. Within an hour they've emailed to tell me I'm discharged for "lack of respect." It seems to me that the lack of respect was the other way. But at least it was useful information. I'd recommend people avoid this place.

My meds weren't working, and for months I hadn't been able to find a psychiatrist who accepted my insurance and didn't have long waiting lists. I was so relieved to find a doctor and felt hopeful for the first time in months. Prior to my appointment, i told a therapist in his office that because I was considered med-resistant, I had had an experimental treatment (that is considered a huge breakthrough in mental health treatment and is about to be made available by Astra Zeneca) every few months for the past year on an emergency basis that had improved my depression, but only temporarily. I now needed a doctor who could help find meds that would work consistently so I wouldn't need emergency treatments. Without even seeing me, he cancelled my appointment and refused to talk with me because he didn't agree with the treatments I had received. (My last treatment was two months ago.) I called his office several times to explain how badly I needed his help, and if he would just talk to me, I could explain that if he could help me, I wouldn't need the treatments anymore. He never returned my calls. His disregard for my urgent need for his help, and refusal to even have a conversation with me after i told the therapist I needed someone to save my life, is the most careless, irresponsible behavior I've ever experienced from a doctor.

The nurses in same day surgery are just amazing. They were so happy, supportive and, most importantly, were able to get an IV in in only one try (and I'm a bad stick!). No one wants to be a patient but if you have to be, go to this hospital. They'll treat you right.

And should have 0 contact with patients. He has been rude, condescending, disrespectful and dismissive since my first day here. Do yourself a favor if you get admitted, do not have him on your medical team. As for the nurses, LPNs and PCA on three north, they are absolutely fabulous.
