The energy is always high, the vibes are immaculate, and the staff keeps the shelves stocked with a ridiculous variety of comics, collectibles, action figures, FUNKO Pops, short boxes, supplies, and more. It's literally the kind of place where you can lose an hour without even realizing it. First off, say hello to Pacer, the AMAZING shop dog and official mascot of Gotham City Limit. He's the sweetest, the best greeter, and the best browsing buddy. Who doesn't want to shop with a good boy by your side? If you don't see Ben, you'll definitely hear his greeting from somewhere in the store as that man is just nonstop. Ben's dedication shows, especially on Free Comic Book Day and special release days, when Gotham City Limit turns into a full-blown celebration. On top of that, he partners with Jacksonville Public Library when they host comic-centered events and you'll see him at different conventions throughout the year. Ben makes sure everyone, from kids to hardcore collectors, feels welcome and included. Also big love to Jonathan (one of the OGs of comic shops in Jax) and Santana, who are always ready to talk storylines, their newest recommendations, or help you find the one issue that you didn't know you were missing. My pull list will ebb and flow depending on what is being released or if I want single issues of something. However, the numero uno items that I always want to see are the latest Baby Marvel covers from Skottie Young. The team has my account tagged for those specifically, and that kind of attention to detail is incredible. It's the kind of personal touch that makes you feel truly seen as a collector and fan. Gotham City Limit is a little slice of geeky heaven in Jax and one of the last remaining locally owned comic shops in this area of town. This was my first time in here, and I brought some comics and Funko Pops to sell. The man at the…read morecounter was super sweet and helpful, since I didn't know much about my items. He went through all my items with me there and scanned them in his app to check the values and product demand. It was cool to see certain high-value items. He asked if I had a price in mind, and I let him know I wasn't familiar with my items to know. He gave me a number that I think was reasonable, and he cut me a check. I didn't get a chance to look around fully, but there were some pretty cool items sitting out. Super cool place and (I assume) owner. Definitely a place to come check out again!

I said "league of legends trading card game I'm looking to buy boosters and the proving ground do you have those?". He says "yes we do we have the proving grounds and the boosters". I ask "ok, how much are those?". he replies, "I can't discuss prices over the phone". I then tell the person "ok I'll come up soon". He said "we open at 12:00". I said "ok I'll be there". I get there right at "opening" and I ask the person for riftbound packs and the proving ground. He says "the proving grounds would be in that case over there" and points at the case." He then states "looks like we're out." Already frustrated, I decide to let that go and I ask them if I could buy some riftbound packs. I ask if I can buy a box. He states that they are not selling boxes until the release event they have on thursday to make sure they have enough product for that. This makes sense to me, so I ask them how many packs left they have in the display box they are selling out of. He states, there's plenty in there. I ask if I can buy the rest and he states "I can only sell 3 per person". I feel like there was a lot of room for better communication throughout this ordeal. I am deeply dissatisfied with the lack of customer service this store has. A lot of this information could have been told me over the phone.

Really loved experience we had at house of collectibles. The owner, older gentleman named Mr…read more French., could not have been nicer and more helpful. And he has a few stories to tell. His son came in at one point and helped us with the purchase of some albums. They have albums that are open and albums that are sealed, and they have a lot of genres of music to choose from. I ended up buying a Pink Floyd album that I had been trying to locate and it was sealed. I didn't want to open it because that would decrease the value so I called back to see if they had an open copy which they did so I went back the next day and bought it. I don't know I could really explain everything that's in the store. Their books, paperback and hardback. But more than that, they have first edition, signed books by the author and kids books as well. You know what else they have? They have albums, but I already mentioned that. But what I didn't mention was I have three or four rooms of albums. They're on the floor. They're in boxes. They're on racks. So if you're looking for certain music, make sure that you leave yourself enough time to look.. They also have comic books. And trade paperbacks. And graphic novels. They have baseball cards. They have garbage pail cards. They have collectibles, figures, Star Wars, stuff. Yes, lots and lots of stuff . Thoroughly enjoyed shopping here and meeting Mr. French and talking to his son. I know this may not be everybody's jam, but for me I really enjoyed spending time browsing looking and yes, buying.

When you come in here you get a comic shop, but you also get to marvel (get it?) at his artwork which is also on display and available for purchase. I'm excited see the shop grow, evolve and to see the future successes they have in store. When you come by and see what they are doing and meet Kyle, you'll see that the future is quite bright indeed.

I guess just bring a hand sanitizer and sanitize everything if you want to come here. And eat your food with cutlery, don't grab your burger with your hands. Yuck.
