I originally called this practice because I had heard they offered a more comfortable open bore MRI experience, but when I asked the scheduler about it she told me that only closed was offered. I told her that the website mentioned it, she then responded that told me she wasn't aware of that. Hmm. Odd. Maybe I need to speak with someone else then? But for now let me just get on the books, I thought. Well, that's when the frustration continued because I found myself repeating basic information over and over and over again. I got to the point where I would intentionally add more pauses when repeating the information, the scheduler would repeat back the information to me...but then moments later would ask me to repeat the same information again. Is this how everyone at the clinic will be? Not listening the first or second time, therefore requiring me, the patient, to constantly repeat myself when it comes to an already uncomfortable experience? It didn't inspire confidence in me, that's for sure. They also talked very low, like they were shy -- I had to ask them to speak louder several times, then they would barely increase the volume. Think just a hair above whisper-soft instead of average tone. The low end of the volume dial on an old radio instead of right in the middle. Now that I'm reading the other reviews here about how their appointments went...I feel like I might have been better off just sticking with the Radiology clinic I normally go to instead of trying a different one. I'd recommend that the clinic train its support staff and coach them on professionalism, as they are often the first-line impression and can sometimes make or break an experience for the patient. Have them speak confidently and in a steady tone (not above a whisper). Teach them active listening skills, ensure that they have decent reasoning skills (the scheduler got my address confused for the doctor's address -- although the MRI order clearly noted which was which). Furthermore, have them versed on what is offered and what isn't. I had to explain to the scheduler what I meant with "wide-open bore MRI" although that's exactly how it was described on the website. Shouldn't they be familiar with that and able to talk to it when a patient asks about it? I'll more than likely go back to my old clinic, at least I know what to expect with them and they've been pretty consistent with their service over the years.

Several times they have taken multiple people back before me who got there after I did. Don't believe their website that these mammograms are comfortable, they're not. If you end up needing a biopsy, talk to the doctor before the procedure about where she plans to do it. I have a visible scar that I feel like could have been avoided if she'd inserted the needle from the side rather than the top, but she didn't even mention that the biopsy needle would leave a scar. The positives: The technicians are kind and compassionate. Parking is free and the location is convenient. Scheduling appointments is easy on their website.

I don't want anyone having to go through the frustration that I went through. Washington Radiology has been my trusted healthcare facility for the past 13 years. They do my yearly mammograms. The front desk has always been organized and helpful. The employees at the front desk have been kind, professional, and supportive. The technicians are top tear. They are very supportive, professional, and respectful. I have given this office 5 stars for the past 3 years. This year, is the first time I have had an issue with the results from my mammogram. I had called 4 times and waited for over ten days, over a 2 week period to speak with the facility about my mammogram results. After, 4 calls and ten days, I was able to speak to the office manager, Kimberly Scott! She said she hadn't received my prior messages. She assured me that there was nothing wrong with my mammogram. She is a very nice person, but when you want to speak with a medical professional, the doctor who read your mammogram, you should be able to do so. I was told that the doctor was very busy, she would email the doctor, but there was no guarantee that the doctor would get back to me. So, let's go over this once more, I have gone to this office for over ten years. I have never asked for any help. But, this time after spending over 4 hours trying to reach anyone, but a switchboard, which is unable or unsuccessful in trying to reach the location...I am told by the business manager, that the doctor is too busy to call me? So, after undue frustration, I finally received a call from the doctor, which was 3 weeks after I had begun trying to reach her. I should have had a return call from the doctor with in 24-48 hours from my first call. The businesses reluctance to place calls directly to the location, they are handled by an answering service. That kind of service is not acceptable. So, in summary, if nothing is wrong with you, then by all means go to this location. But, please note, that if you ever have a question or an issue, getting through to a doctor is almost impossible. And, you might not want the stress and anguish involved.

Two years later, and we've gotten sent to collections every 6 months because billing made a mistake (said I got two MRI's when I only ever got the 1, that was PREPAID!). We're in a cycle of calling, having them realize the mistake, reverse it, think we're all set, and then 6 months later we get another notice for collections. It's getting exhausting at this point, when they admit fault, say things are getting fixed, and then don't get fixed.

I returned a call this morning at 10:09 AM after being told my insurance had denied my claim. When I spoke with the front desk staff, she insisted--incorrectly--that my primary insurance (NALC) was not approved, even though NALC is simply the group name for federal employees and the insurance is administered through Cigna. I tried to explain this, but she repeatedly talked over me, became hostile, and refused to even read the policy numbers back to me. She eventually transferred me to a supervisor, who immediately confirmed what I had been saying all along: the Cigna policy starting with N is my primary, and the one starting with U is secondary. Instead of apologizing for the confusion or the rude behavior from the first representative, the supervisor told me I was "wrong" and suggested I "go somewhere else." So I did. No patient should be treated disrespectfully for trying to clarify their own insurance, especially when the staff is the one misunderstanding it. The lack of professionalism, the refusal to listen, and the dismissive attitude from both the staff member and supervisor were unacceptable. I will not be returning, and I recommend other patients be prepared for poor customer service and inaccurate insurance handling.

It was packed in the waiting area. They have a nice large waiting area that can accommodate a large number of patients. Checking in was smooth and quick. They are very efficient at this location. A few minutes later my name was called. There were two people assigned to my X-ray. One person was training the new person. I was given shorts to put on for the X-ray. Unfortunately, there was a long pause, and I was left waiting for someone to return to get me. I started looking around and found my radiology assistants. Things went pretty smoothly from there. But, I noticed the one experienced staffer really had to do most of the work. He was really good ! Thank you for taking over. I was done in a few minutes and out the door. Results were sent quickly to my doctor. I am very pleased with Adventist Healthcare Imaging. They are really nice, efficient, and pleasant to work with.

I even called my doctor's office ahead of time to get the order sent in here after they had sent one in at Fernwood. I trotted into the office and found out that this location apparently has NO X-RAY MACHINE. I was in disbelief. I even checked the website ahead of time and saw that they do. I asked the receptionist if he could fax over the order to the Fernwood location. He refused and said they supposedly don't have a fax machine. Wow. I ended up having to call back my physician's office and have the order resent to the one at Fernwood. Yes, the one that can cost you up to $12 in parking because it's managed by Colonial Parking. And I was trying to avoid it because X-ray orders are all done on a walk-in basis. Meaning, you never know how long you'd have to wait there, thus contributing to the $$$ parking fee. Yes, you can park across the street at Walter Johnson and some street parkings are available. However, I've received tickets before due to it going past 3:30pm -- the area becomes a no parking zone after 3:30pm and like I said, I didn't know how long it'd take at Fernwood CRA. Anyways, I suggest everyone to call the Seven Locks Rd location if you need to do X-rays order of any sort. Hopefully, they have the machine "available" or that they have a fax machine or some other means to receive faxed or electronic order again.
