I believe this past weekend was her final weekend doing those walk-ins this summer, but I may be wrong. During my walk-in appointment, I filled out my information and signed a waiver, and then had to wait at the studio for my name to be called. Because it was a walk-in, and not an actual appointment I waited for about an hour because there were several people ahead of me. You're able to book appointments online, and would not have to wait for this long if you made an appointment! If you're ever thinking about doing a walk in, definitely try to get there early. Jade was so lovely and kind and communicative. I've gotten many piercings in my lifetime, and was doing a very simple lobe piercing, but even so, she made me feel so comfortable and communicated everything she was doing every step of the way. She was very thorough and gave me her contact information if I had any questions afterwards. I got some of the saline solution they provide there as well. They had some really cute options for piercings! I upgraded to the stars/moons piercings because they were so cute. Some of their cheaper options come with the price of the piercing. I would absolutely come back here to get pierced by Jade again!

Was I supposed to request changes as he was actively tattooing me. Custom pieces require time and input from the customer. Hence the word custom. He initially promised it within a reasonable timeframe and he did not provide anything. Thanks for trying to make me seem like the unreasonable party here.

Then, that 'soul' dog had to end their journey here with us. Azzy was that for me. Every one of my 'kids' is special to me, but Azzy was that 'you get me kiddo' partner for me. I got this tattoo from Emily, and she not only did this fully custom piece for me, she made last minute tweaks to make it perfect for me. She did amazing work and did my old girl justice by even putting the 'toe fur' on the tattoo. The shop was amazing with the atmosphere and EVERY person that walked by the table commented on the piece and after they heard the story gave me their condolences. A long time ago, I started a tattoo that never turned out the way I had envisioned. I struggled to…read morefind an artist who was willing to take it on and finish it, and over time it became something I wasn't proud of anymore. I eventually decided a cover up was the best option. The first artist I trusted with it even started the cover up, but it quickly became clear she was in over her head and didn't have the experience needed for a project like this. After four last minute cancellations on a session I had already prepaid for, I finally decided to cut my losses. Looking back, I honestly feel blessed that she canceled so many times. At the time it was incredibly frustrating, but if she had continued working on it, I truly believe I would have ended up with an even bigger mess to fix. That decision led me to an incredible artist and owner of Skin It Tattoo, Jack, who had the experience, talent, and confidence to transform something I had grown to hate into something I genuinely love. He absolutely KILLED it. This is only the beginning. I can't wait to go back so he can tie the flowers into the owl and finish the rest of the piece. The "owner" Dax proceeded to call me rude for asking to remove my number and not wanting to proceed. He does an excellent job of walking through designs and talking through possibilities for the art. He charges very reasonable prices for his work. I am always comfortable on his table, and I have to say, he has one of the softest touches I've experienced. Yes, it's still a little needle being drive into the skin, which I would never call fun, but he's fast and light, and it makes the process super easy, even for long sessions. (I had one tattoo once where I seriously thought the artist was flaying my skin off, and he would rub the fresh wound REALLY hard. Dave feels like a tickle in comparison.) I always enjoy chatting with him, which also makes the process nice. The best part: all of the pieces he's done for me look amazing, exactly like what I wanted, and they remain bright and beautiful even after more than a decade. I have listened in on the other staff working with clients, and they always seem personable and very clear about what they will be doing and how things will work out. They are a nice bunch of people, even on the phone when setting up appointments. I also love the new space--airy and open and cozy all at the same time. And wherever their location, they always keep things spotless. No matter where I live, I will keep all of my ink work for Dave because he knows what he's doing and, well, he's just a great guy! Went in for my first piece yesterday; what a great experience! I was a little nervous, but from the…read moremoment I entered the shop, I was put at ease. The guy working the phones and setting up appointments, (I think his name is Church) was real laid back and cool. I showed him what I had in mind and he recommended Scott Richardson; then he explained that they are appointment only and are usually pretty booked up. I was a little bummed because I was leaving Utah in the next week to head home to Chicago. He checked with Scott and luckily he could squeeze me in the following day. I paid my deposit and headed out. When I came back the next day, Scott was there and I showed him what I was thinking about and he started working on a sketch. I filled out my paperwork and chatted with another customer for a while. When Scott came back with his sketch, it was spot on to what was in my mind. We headed to his cubicle and started. Again I was a little nervous, not knowing what to expect, but he explained what he was going to do and that settled my nerves down. Then with a whirr, the gun and needles started their duty. It was far less painful than everyone says, or maybe it is just that I work in a kitchen and cut or burn myself on a daily basis. As he worked, Scott and I BS'd about this and that and I think we were about 15 min away from solving all the world's problems by the time he was done, (just over an hour). I had been sneaking peeks throughout the process, but the finished piece blew me away, it was exactly the image I had in my ind when I entered the shop the previous day! **** Bottom line is; if you are looking to get some ink, be it your first or 99th piece, you would not be disappointed with this shop. My navel was too shallow and my septum hit cartilage. (another piercer confirmed this). Both times I visited, the environment also made me feel uneasy. I wouldn't go back.
