I moved to the U.S. and initially signed up for car insurance with Bristol West using my Russian driver's license. They charged me an outrageous $600 per month, which is ridiculously expensive. When I decided to cancel the policy, they somehow managed to demand an additional $65 just for the cancellation process. To make matters worse, they threatened to damage my credit score if I didn't pay the cancellation fee. I ended up switching to Tesla Insurance, which costs me only $200 a month--much more reasonable! I am completely shocked that Bristol West would charge such an absurd cancellation fee without giving me any prior notice. Their insurance was far too expensive to begin with, and the way they handle cancellations is borderline predatory. Beware of this company! Make sure you read every contract detail before signing, and if you can, avoid Bristol West altogether. I had to pay that $65 just to protect my credit, but I'm writing this review to warn others. Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience with this agency and Varsham Patvakanian. Varsham was recommended to me through my mutual friend, who he helped for years with their insurance needs. We came to his office for a consultation and and possibility of purchasing home insurance .We told him that we have coverage through a different agency, but Varsham told us we were not protected and that he could help us with better prices. He gave us a quote and we told him we would think about it after speaking with our current insurance company. However, by the time we came home, we found out Varsham charged our account with a deposit for the home insurance without our permission! We decided to stick with our current insurance company because the quote Varsham gave us was not better and actually provided lower coverage than our current plan. I called Varsham to inform him that we are not purchasing home insurance from him, and then he accused us of agreeing to purchase the insurance from him. He also told us that we MUST purchase it since he spent "so much time with us." After I reiterated we were not interested in purchasing home insurance through him, he began making anti-Semitic insults and told me he was "never going to do business with Jewish people again." I have never experienced anything this ridiculous with any company or small business IN MY LIFE! my father passed away recently and he was in charge of purchasing insurance, mortgage payment ext... My mother now left with his responsibilities asked me to shop around for insurance quote to ease her financial burden also because she doesn't have the experience and the knowledge in the this field (also her English is not good and makes her even more uncomfortable calling companies that she isn't familiar with). After I called these people up they said someone would call me back (I guess only one person knows what goes on there), I gave them my mother's pone number to call back as I was stepping out after my conversation them. Varsham called my mother up and confronted her, shaming her to why she can't make the decision to what kind of insurance she needs that I had to make the call in her behalf. My mother kindly answered to him "I come from Armenian family and usually man make that kind of decisions, what difference does it make now? we just need a quote". We obtained our business liability insurance through Varsham Insurance Agency. Recently we were asked by home insurance company to provide an insurance endorsement so they allow us to become one of their service vendors. I called Varsham to ask for it. Horrible, unprofessional response. He was yelling at me and telling me how busy he is and he doesn't have time for that. That's not even how an adult should talk to their child for bad behavior, let alone another adult, your customer. Varsham, that's not how you deal with people while running a business. I do not recommend his service. Lack of knowledge of the industry for a simple name change on the policy. I am a home owner and i went through the name change process, I called him regarding the process and he told me that you need a grant deed for the change to be made, I only had a quitclaim deed and he said there is no way for the change to happen like that, I called the insurance company myself and i was able to change my name in 15 minutes by simply providing a copy of my quitclaim deed along with a request form. I changed the producer on the policy and going to buy my auto insurance from another agent. I do not recommend his service, once your business's earned, the customer service quality goes down drastically. read more

He gave me a good quote over the phone and then when I went to his office, he tried to switch me to a different insurance company with lower coverages. I recently visited Varsham INS and spoke to him directly and he was very accommodating. I let him know that I have a horrible driving record and he was one of the few that took the time to help me in my situation. rip off, first of all i had my real estate agent handle all of my paperwork so she contacted varsham. he put me on two different policies, one for the hazard insurance and one for the liability, which makes no sense. The hazard insurance he put me through california fair plan, which he is not supposed to charge a broker fee for. when i requested documentation of what i was charged he stated that he charged $175 for each policy, when i told him it was illegal to charge for the service of the california fair plan he got defensive and stated that he then charged me $350 for the liability only policy. He refused to send me documentation stating what i was charged for and said that he will furnish said paper work for any authorities. He banks on me not pursuing this, but i will. read more

I have never written a review but feel compelled to do so having just experienced the most amazing customer service. I finally decided to sign up for Covered CA after doing my own due diligence. I was discouraged by the confusing and non-intuitive nature of their website so I decided to reach out to a qualified navigator and found Varsham right down the street. He informed me prior to meeting that I would need 3 documents which I brought in where he then welcomed me and got to work processing my application. He was able to determine the perfect policy for me based on a few questions. The whole thing took no more that 30 minutes and I was on my way have finally secured health insurance that was way more affordable that I ever imagined. One important thing that I want to add is that after asking him how does he get paid for all of this, he informed me that he makes next to nothing all in an effort to gain a new client and hopefully referrals.
