My wife came to the states legally and applied for asylum in 2014-ish. In 2016 she moved in with me, in September of that year I suffered stroke and she was my caretaker. We were married in January of 2017. She neglected to change her address and subsequently missed her Asylum hearing in July of 2018. 3 days prior to the official start of the pandemic she received letter from UCSIS stating there was an "Order of removal". We panicked and hired Varzandeh Anderson. Houman came highly recommended and seemed like the guy for the job. He insisted we wait for the FOIA information which we had to wait a year for due to the government shut down. After over a year and a couple months had passed we met in his stuffy office in which he seemed agitated. He acted as if he just realized who the immigration judge was and indicated to us "I'm not saying she is racist, but she doesn't like how some Chinese people run mills of applicants from residences" and he gave us a very grim prognosis of success in getting her case re-opened. We left his office wondering if we had hired the right Firm. He wanted us to sign an affidavit stating that prior Attorney working on her case had botched the process, in an effort to help her case. We did not feel comfortable doing so. Long story short he sent the attached scathing email to us afterwards relieving himself as counsel. Fast forward to today, our new counsel simply took the time to review the facts of the case, filed a declaration, subsequent motion and wife's order of removal has been lifted and her case dismissed! No court appearances for us!!! He literally did nothing but submit a request for the FOIA, had no interest in doing any lawyering or protecting MY CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS as her legal husband. We hired Varzandeh's office for the immigration naturalization case. He was never available to talk or meet despite making appointments ahead of time. He had cancelled every single appointment we made thru his staff and sometimes they even didn't have it on their calendar when we were calling the office. He showed up 40 minutes late in the day of the interview , and the office staff were lost every time we were calling the office to ask questions. It was such a terrible experience from the beginning to the end. They have failed to complete the work and we have wasted our time and money trusting them to work on our case.
