Feb 26, 2026 I don't go to VASA Fitness for the treadmills. I don't go for the multiple televisions screaming morning news. I go for one thing: the steam room. And it's been down for a week. Again. Last November it was out for nearly a month. Same laminated sign. Same vague timeline. Same "maintenance" fog where accountability should be. Let's be clear: this is the only steam room in Washington County. If there were another option, I'd already be gone. The only reason I maintain this membership is access to that amenity -- the one advertised, promoted, and built into the monthly fee. A membership is a transaction. I pay. You provide what you advertise. Since this location can't seem to keep a core amenity operational, maybe it's time the people at the top hear about it directly. VASA is backed by private equity firm Silver Oak Services Partners, and led by CEO Rich Nelsen. When a company scales across multiple states and markets premium amenities, operational consistency isn't optional -- it's the business model. If the steam room is going to be chronically unreliable, say that plainly. Don't market it as a feature if it's a recurring casualty of "maintenance." Members shouldn't have to escalate basic facility upkeep beyond the front desk. But when a pattern repeats, escalation becomes reasonable. Fix it. Maintain it. Or adjust the membership pricing and advertising to reflect reality. Right now, it feels like we're paying for a promise that keeps evaporating. And steam, at the very least, should show up. I am giving two stars because I have tried to cancel my membership and the parent company, Paramount is extremely difficult to deal with and doesn't let you cancel. I paid for May but when I tried to cancel they took another payment. Then two days later I received a delinquent notice, for what? I canceled. This gym is large and crowded and dirty, the kids at the counter are nice but don't ever expect to speak to a manager, they just won't come and talk with you, not in person or on the phone. Do not waste your time and go to this stupid gym. They workers told me to sign up for the fitness membership to get extra perks like red light therapy and tanning. Then I find out they don't even have those things at the St. George location???? I was told I have to pay $25 to downgrade my membership. I called the cooperate number and they were useless. Super disappointed in the lack of customer service here and the quality of employees. I also had a bracelet stolen out of the stair master 2 minutes after leaving the machine. I came to this gym because I was visiting from out of town. I do belong to VASA Fitness and I'm glad that this is not my local gym. It looks like the building has been updated but none of the equipment has been. The machines were all pretty old, and in fair condition. I went on a Sunday morning right when they opened, and the trash was overflowing in the women's bathroom. I also stepped on a loose screw which got stuck in my shoe in the bathroom. Giving it three stars was a little bit generous. I figure this facility gets pretty busy and is really due for an upgrade. read more

There are some confusion for me as to why this gym does not have five stars, however, I do not read the negative reviews because my experience was phenomenal from the first phone call. ABBY answered the phone quickly and so kindly it genuinely took me back. After we had a laugh about it, she answered all of my questions about day passes and amenities, and I came right over. For the very cheap price of $15 for the visit. (Not for 24 hours) I am tremendously impressed! They have a section of the gym that is an infrared sauna room with weightlifting equipment. The turf room even has weighted bars for stretching and both types of medicine balls. In the pool area there is not only a hot tub, but both a large co-Ed dry sauna room and a steam room. Eric at the front desk when I arrived was super friendly as well and greeted me as soon as I opened the front door. Having a history in the gym environment, administration, management, and business owner/ personal trainer, a front desk staff like Eric and Abby sets the entire vibe and atmosphere for a person's day/workout in my opinion. I would be thrilled to work with them and next time I visit St. George I will definitely be coming back to vasa because of them. Thank you, Eric and Abby! read more

Just took Joanna's Studio Red class at 6AM. It was amazing!! She helped me and gave me pointers when I needed it. Also, everybody in that class was super warm and welcoming( it was my first I took in a long time). Would go again, definitely recommend!! read more

Love Vasa ! I love the spin classes Monday morning at 9am Monday evening at 6 pm and Friday morning at 9:15 am. Jamie and Amy are the best !!!! They make working out fun ! They will get you in shape while having fun and you will not want to miss a class once you start , they also have a studio Red class that is awesome ! Jamie does a fabulous job ! Too many machines are out of order! Any other gym will have their machines fixed within a couple of days. Vasa has had several machines out of order, not for a couple of days not for a couple of weeks, but for several months now (and I'm talking 3 months and counting). This is totally unacceptable!! Also, Vasa has their machines so close together, you have to be very careful getting in and out of the machines so you don't bump into the other person. Two thumbs DOWN!!! read more

I specifically signed up for Vasa just because they have spin classes and I've been going for 3 weeks now and I'm obsessed! Monica and Amie are the best instructors and it's such a highlight of my week. I wish they had spin every morning instead of just Mon/Wed/Fri! The worst customer service ever! The employees are rude, they misinform you, then they act like you are some kind of criminal for trying to act on their misinformation. So then when you think you have finally got it all straightened out, it isn't and then they treat you like you're an idiot, presumably because you ever tried to believe them in the first place! Crowded gym. Getting equipment was difficult. Dimly lit and dirty equipment. Hidden "yearly fees" on top of monthly fees. Canceling membership was a pain. Had to pay additional month dues to cancel. I had this membership over a year and used it like 2x. Yes, my fault, but they should have given some grace when we cancelled. Bottom line, most gyms are greedy and have hidden fees. This isn't Costco where you get your membership back if you aren't happy. Be careful when getting gym memberships! Based on the reviews management couldn't care less that people find this place poorly maintained. read more

Be careful! I canceled my Gym Membership two and a half years ago. I look on my credit card statement last month and there is almost a $30.00 charge from VASA. Turns out for some reason they started billing me, without my permission, for the past three months. When I called to get it resolved and to get a refund for the error- they told me it was my fault. The manger at the St. George office has told me I now have to deal with corporate offices, who didn't call me back when they disconnected me from being on hold. Basically they told me it would all be resolved when I went into the gym. No problems big smiles. Then five days later- they want me to provide the cancel email from two and a half years ago- despite the fact that they haven't billed me at all since that time. I know COVID hurt a lot of gyms but damn opening up people's old accounts to charge them to stay afloat. Sketchy and bad business. read more

Vasa offers lots of classes and types of exercise that caters to various body types and likes. Whether you enjoy swimming, Zumba, spinning, running by yourself on a treadmill, or spotting your Bro at the bench press--it offers everything. There are some nice locker rooms and my favorite room is the "Women's Vasa". As much as I love flaunting my body, I don't actually like it at all. It's nice to be in a little bit of a secluded area while I lift and get my sweat on. It's always pretty busy but I love the open concept. There are plenty of machines to go around as well, which is great. I have attended some of the classes and LOVE the spunky and upbeat attitudes of the employees. They make them fun and the time passes much quickly if I can follow along in a group setting. High Fitness and Spin Class (Figure out which one Cherie teaches and go to hers! She is so awesome and really pushes you, in a good way) are my favorites to attend. TIPS & TRICKS: * From what I understand, the membership is $9.99/month if you only work out at one gym. But if you want to have full access to any Vasa wherever you go, it's a little more. Don't forget to budget in the $50 annual fee too. * Please don't be "That Guy/Girl" who doesn't clean off their machine or re-rack their weights. Just be courteous. * If you have some kids, there is a little "Kid Care" area. They can be there while you get your GAINZZ. read more

Please for the love of god. The track in the grass area is the only spot to use the sled or do lunges or other workouts of that nature and be out of peoples way. I was hoping there would be a sign someday that told people not to sit and stretch in the three lanes and use the rest of the open grass area instead, I've heard other people complain in person. But id never say anything. Now this location rearranged a bunch of the equipment in that area and placed it onto the track. Like mats and weights and accessories. It's already a compact gym. I'm askin please Get that stuff out of our way and keep people off the track if they are just stretching or doing abs. read more

This gym is the worst one I've ever been to. I'd give 1 star, but some of their machines are decent. The real problem is the hidden fees and problems with canceling your membership. I moved away from St George and needed to cancel my membership. I tried to call and cancel it, but they hung up on me. I tried to email them, no reply. I tried online and it still didn't work. I finally had to remove my card from their file, but they found a way to STILL charge me my membership fee AND an extra $90. I finally canceled from the app and they charged me yet another fee. Literally ridiculous. I'd never recommend this place to anyone. read more

I am a holistic nurse and have been referring patients to various gyms for decades. I have to say that from my first interaction with Natalie at Vasa fitness and then coming in and being taken care of by Taylor... this is an extraordinary exemplary amazing gym and fitness center. Both Natalie and Taylor were great faces for Vasa as they were kind, patient, professional, informative and really went the extra mile to help us. Vasa has everything you could ever need in a gym...steam, sauna, pool, an unbelievable amount of workout equipment with a staff that is friendly, the gym is immaculate, the showers are wonderful... you could not ask for more. Gym is excellent. Personal Training Sign Up Is a Scam. I signed up for a basic membership in south Utah. I had lived out of the country for 20 years and said I wanted a few sessions with a Personal Trainer to get acquainted with the machines and get set up with a free weight program. I was told the PT sessions were $12.50 per session. They did not indicate each session is 15 minutes. So for one hour It's $50.00. I was not told I was being signed up for six months of training with a commitment of $1,200 and that the six month contract would automatically review. The sign up process is via their Ipad, and I only was given a screenshot of the contract after two months of being charged $100 every two weeks for personal training. The contract clearly says you can cancel within three days of signing up, but the first time I saw the contract was months later. I was told that their system defaults to a six month commitment and auto-renewal. I have had numerous calls and emails, all to no avail. Take away? Demand a printed copy of the contract before you sign on the Ipad. Insist to know how much they will bill you per month. Insist you see in writing on paper all the charges that will be posted to your credit card. Buyer beware. Who would have thought that in 2022 a company would rather make money by hiding charges and terms, rather than focusing on client satisfaction. read more

The amount of hidden fees is mind blowing. I was forced to pay $208 just to CANCEL my membership. I also noticed a random fee this month of $74 for god knows what. Dropped into St George Vasa while on vacation and it is a FAR cry from the Vasas in Salt Lake Valley. The layout is super inefficient and there are THREE squat racks for the entire gym. Only one deadlifting platform and all the barbell lifting equipment is tucked in the tiniest corner. I don't do CrossFit but I'd rather go to a CrossFit gym for my workout next time I'm in town. Take some notes from Van Winkle or West Jordan in Salt Lake. This gym needs a revamp - Desperately. read more

This place is just so DIRTY! I went last week on a Sunday and they are to open at 8am... well they didn't open until 8:30am because the employee couldn't be on time. I never go on Sundays, but finally had the chance and it took way longer than expected. Another lady had driven from across town and wasted nearly and hour and a half because she left about five minutes before they got there. She was sick of waiting and I don't blame her. Stairs masters and other cardio machines are broken half the time. I haven't ever seen an employee cleaning EVER! The class teachers do well, but that is all they have going for them. I am not a super picky person, but I purposely downloaded this app just for the purpose of giving vasa a poor review. I hate doing it, but people should know what they are getting themselves into! read more
