But the first thing I needed done was a sprinkler repair. What I really noticed right away was the professional communication and punctuality of this company. They use systems to help them keep track of things and communicate with you and when they say they're going to be there, they show up. Now that lawn mowing season has started it just took a few minutes to go over my preferences for the service with them, including edging and cleanup, and off they went. Josiel was quick to let me know that after the first mowing, there would be individuals who did not have English as a first language. I could really care less about that. What I care about is the job that they do. So far, I have been exceptionally satisfied and I assume that's going to continue. By the way, the reason I started this quest was I was using a different company last summer, and with all the ICE raids that went on, the non English speaking people left the company. They were replaced by a bunch of Americans that for the life of them they could not mow a straight line or edge a straight line. I would have tall grass in between the cut rows that I would have to go out and cut after the fact. Now this may sound racist but I do think that the Hispanic workers that I have had doing work on my property have done far better work than anyone else that I've hired. I saw a recent rant on here on Yelp, reviewing this company, and the individual had very little to say about the work that was done other than they didn't speak English. Like I said, I could care less what language they speak if they do a great job. I strongly encourage you to consider this company for your lawn care and Landscaping needs.

Before we were even contracted, he offered to come by and put wire nuts on all of the wiring that the other guy left exposed and even replaced the incorrect and used sprinkler timing box with one that actually had capacity to cover all six zone the other guy installed and didn't have stripped out parts. We ended up hiring him to do the concrete and fencing job. They did great and left a clean worksite. In a world or horrific contractors, definitely consider giving these guys your business. They are thorough and provide the quality of work that anyone would be happy with.

I was interested in having some repair work to my chimney that was showing signs of brick spalling…read moreand the top cap had some cracks and appeared to be separating from the chimney. I don't know much about this repair work so I decided to get quotes based on recommendations and reviews that I found online using Google Maps and Yelp. I selected AB Masonry because Adam had zero negative reviews and the photos that customers shared looked like he did really good work. His estimate was in the middle of the three firms selected. Adam and his assistant removed the cap and reworked the top 4 layers of bricks. He also repaired several spalling bricks throughout the chimney. Once the repairs were complete he also applied a waterproofing to the chimney. As I watched him do this I noticed that he was also applying silicone sealant to the top of the new chimney cap. This surprised me as I had an earlier discussion regarding whether there was need to calk the ceramic flue-to-cap joint as part of the job? He said that it wasn't necessary because they were similar materials and a good bond would form. When I asked about the sealant he said he was filling cracks in the new cap that had formed. This concerned me and when I eventually looked at the cap it looked worse to me than the original cap that had failed. He said he would stand by his work and warranty that it would not fail for the foreseeable future. One of the other items that I mentioned to him was that we may have interest in eventually selling the house. When I saw the cracks I mentioned that I had concerns that a buyer home inspection may flag the cracks as a chimney issue that needed to be addressed. Adam said there wasn't anything that needed to be done and he would stand by his work. This is unsatisfactory to me because we paid for a chimney repair and expected it to be without cracks. If I knew this was going to happen I would have not had him do the work. I am disappointed with this chimney rework result and would not recommend Adam based on my experience. I thought I could do the rest myself, but I realized my limitations and looked for a contractor to grade the planting areas, fix a grassy area that was a mess due to tree roots, fix the irrigation including a whole new drip and replacing the sprinkler zone. In addition, we needed a concrete walkway and some stepping stones. Kam from Art of the Earth (AOTE) came to provide a quote and it was clear he had both a deep understanding of plants and a sense of how to use them within a landscape to create art. He focused on year round color and explained how that would be achieved. We agreed from the beginning that the look I wanted to achieve was as natural as possible without straight lines. The project manager, Tyler, the foreman, Jose and Hernon worked with focus on achieving the vision. I could tell this by the way they would stop, standback and assess the progress. We communicated routinely, and they all listened to our thoughts attentively. There were some additions and subtractions from the initial quote and the price impact was agreed upon promptly and fairly. They cleaned up at the end of every day's work which my wife was particularly happy with. Communication was great throughout, and there were no surprises except they surprised me with ways to surpass my expectations with their focus on achieving our goals. I wholeheartedly recommend AOTE for any work, but especially if you are looking for an artful (not slapped together) look.

It took a few weeks to get a time slot to get a…read morequote, but that is nothing compared to the handful of other landscapers who never showed for their appointment with me, or never got back with me once they promised me a quote. Kody planned to meet me on a Saturday, but was able to move it up to a Friday afternoon. He was polite, friendly, offered some welcome suggestions and amazingly had the quote to me in less than 2 hours. After I accepted the bid, he asked when I wanted the project done. Knowing it took a while to even get on their calendar, I kiddingly said. "Preferably in 2023" (Note: I had a horrible experience with my contractor on time-lines, so knowing how busy the summers were I wasn't optimistic.) But I was stunned, thrilled and excited when Kody said; "How about we start on Monday?" I know this may not have been the norm, however, since they did have a crew working on another project in the vacinity, it was easy for the amazing Tyler to come and work on my project. Tyler was efficient, meticulous and extremely tidy as he single handedly beautified my property. Not a hint of rock was left from all the perma-bark that was unloaded in the street, remained where it was dumped. Tyler swept, after each day of work and showed an extreme amount of pride in his work. I would be amiss if I failed to mention, that Monday morning when I was reviewing the project with both Kody and Tyler; that Kody, in the most gentil manner, asked if he could pray with me; over the project, the work being done and all of us involved. I was blown away. I have worked with alot of professing believers in Christ, none of which had ever taken the time to demonstrate their walk, into their work.
