You've tried the rest; now try the best. Went to Dr Vaughn's office on the recommendation/ referral of a family member & couldn't be happier for the experience. I think what sets the office apart from its competitors is that his staff is genuinely customer service oriented towards their clients. It's rare to see a practice have such a high level of attentiveness, empathy, and compassion for their patients given the amount of business they do. You are treated quite literally like family. It's incredible. Kelly (who works at the front desk) is one of the kindest & friendliest people one could ever meet. I wouldn't recommend this place. I had to get a crown and it wasn't cheap. the crown was and is a piece of garbage. i went back twice complaining about it. the first time I went back I told the dentist that it was not made very well. I have had five other crowns over the years with other dental practices and never had a problem with those crowns. the crown from Vaughn was very bulky and not smooth. I am saving my money so I can go to another place and get another crown made. read more

This place is a joke. The dental assistants walking around in masks and what appear to be shower curtains as gowns. Give me a break. And the masks can only be the result of these assistants being so embarrassed to work here they have to hide their faces. None of them I interacted with seemed happy to be working at this place. My issue isn't with the dentist or their assistants, it's with the administrative portion of this business. I was a new patient and went here in June 2025 to have an upper partial denture made for my missing #10 tooth. I was given a pre treatment estimate. The problem starts here. The staff never checked with or called my insurance company to verify the coverage. They had my insurance card and information yet they didn't take the 5 minutes to verify the coverage. I paid the amount they said I owed only to find my insurance (UHC) did not cover the particular procedure code (D5820) they submitted the claim under. Why did they use a code for an interim partial denture when it is supposed to be permanent? I spent at least a day of my time trying to convince them through phone calls and speaking to a manager and visiting the location and speaking to their people to resubmit the procedure to UHC using code D5211. Vaughn is a Network Provider and is part of the UHC network and did not even bother to do the due diligence of contacting UHC to verify the coverage. Bottom line, is I am not paying them a cent more than what I already paid them for this partial denture. Also, because I paid my UHC deductible when I paid for this partial denture, UHC did not recognize that fact because the entire claim was denied, so when I had what was left of tooth #10 extracted to make way for the partial denture, Vaughn also shows I owe $50 more than what I already paid them for the extraction. You can't make this stuff up. read more

As a an establishment such as this one that promises a stress free environment and understanding doctors. This place is anything but that. It has come to my attention that after one of my close family members visited here, the care they received from Dr. Tzoumas was anything but professional or ethical. After having more than several teeth pulled with no prior information they were offered no pain meds after treatment. The procedure was done so poorly that the patient has to now go to a new dentist to have this work done all over again. Dr. Tzoumas Has Misrepresented their ability to do the what was expected. On top of all this, my family member is still in lots of pain and can barely eat after several months from going here. If you need to schedule a dentist appointment, don't do it at this location. read more

I strongly recommend NOT going to this practice. I had a small emergency over the holidays where my front took's old filling fell out. As everyone would agree, the front teeth should be treated with care especially since its the definition of your smile. The dentist removed the rest of the old filling and replaced it with a new one.... but that is not where my dissatisfaction comes from. As he is adjusting the new filling he takes his drill and drilled a tiny whole at the top of my tooth between my two front teeth. I asked it about it and he said dont worry its above your gum line. I became uneasy, but still figured ok maybe hes just smoothing it out and this is what he had to do..... So i left there with what looked like a small poppy seed stuck between my front teeth. I decided maybe my gums needed to come back down from all the work that was just done. I also left there with a very rough feeling in the back of the tooth where he had installed the new filling. I waited two weeks, and the little tiny whole never went away. And in the meantime, the rough feeling now felt like the filling was going to fall off..... This was very upsetting...... I decided i needed to go see someone who actually knew what they were doing and now help me fix this. after doing my research, I found a great practice in westport. not only did that dentist confirm that my front teeth should never have been drilled, she had to add bonding to fill in the whole and then had to fix the new filling so that i would not feel it anymore. After all this, I have to spend a few hundred dollars to fix this careless dentist's mistake. Never again will i go to these people! read more

It's a revolving door of private contractors / dentists. 3 times after having cavity work done..I had to come back to fix something. Wasting my time ! I just got insurance and asked the front desk if they take Cigna.. they said yes. I later asked how does it work.. how much will my insurance cover..? He said they usually cover up to 80 percent, but he wasn't positive about mines specifically. I had 2 cavities done and a cleaning. I just recieved a 800plus dollar bill... Wtf??!! Now it appears my my insurance is out of network with Vaughn's. This isn't right. Last time I was here the dentist dropped the drill tool in my mouth and cut a hole under my tongue. He said it was my tongues fault for moving so much. I can't believe they couldn't inform me that my insurance was out of network.. After asking twice on how my insurance will be accepted. read more

My visit was a really positive one. I can be a bit apprehensive going to the dentist , however I was put at ease with their front staff cheerful greeting. Jose was my hygienist and really made me relaxed. He was thorough, efficient and gentle. Jose had a very pleasant personality. The dentist came in quickly to evaluate my xrays and check for cavities, etc. also to answer any question. I was welcomed and thanked for going to their office numerous times. I must say how impressed I was. These people are so clean, friendly and professional. I am blown away. I got a Groupon, I wanted to try them end ended up getting a mouth Guard . I have had many done In NYC and payed a lot more for them. But these are on point very high quality. Not only with the exact size but also I have had once that they had to cut and when then did then it would become loss. And they were made very thin. These are think made to last. But not too thick that it would make you gag. The staff is diverse and coming from New York I look for that. I saw a person from all different ethnicities. I can't even begin to describe the wonderful care my husband received at this office. My husband has a fear of dental work, and after twenty (yes, 2-0) years of neglect, a chipped filling turned into a major infection/crisis. I have been going to this office for some time. I just went for a routine cleaning and at the end of the cleaning was examined by Dr. Shah. Come to find out he is new there (which is OK) and his name went on the paperwork submitted to my dental insurance. Come to find out, he is "out of network" according to the insurance company, therefor they are only covering about half of the charges for a routine cleaning. This is not OK, the office staff ought to know better. To cap it off, the male person that I spoke with was not understanding, did not offer a solution, and was just plain rude. Terrible experience! We booked our appointments for cleanings 2 months in advance... filled out massive amount of paperwork and a lady even called to confirm a couple weeks ago. Went all the way to Trumbull early on a Saturday morning. Got there and they didn't have our appointments saved for some reason. They apologized, but why couldn't they squeeze us in if they were so sorry?? We drove a long way and waited a long time. Now we have to try and get another Saturday or evening appointment which could take months. read more

Hard to imagine saying pleasure in dentistry but it's true. Dr. Vaughn, Dr. Ghandi, the lovely ladies at the desk and each hygienist has been superb. Let's face it NO ONE likes going to the dentist... however, after my very first visit with Dr. Vaughn, that all changed! I actually look forward to my appointments. Having been a patient with Vaughn Family Dentistry for a few years now, I can say the practice is one of the best I have visited, especially during these difficult times with COVID. During a recent visit, I was most impressed at the level of care the practice undertakes to ensure patient safety. They require you to call before entering, to ensure each person remains separate as they are screened and brought to their chair. The staff wears more preventative gear including full-shield masks than I've seen at some hospitals and pharmacy's recently, where you would expect an ultra level of safe practice. They even disinfect the pens being used at a station before re-entry. It's a tight operation, and the level of safe practice to insure both your, and their protection can't be over-stated. As for the routine dental practices, the staff members courteous and caring, as is Dr. Vaughn who gets to know his patients, and always at a smile and sets his patients at ease. Went there for the first time since I moved to Trumbull. I hadn't visited a dentist in years and they were attentive and comforting.

It used be very good with Dr. Gandhi and an exceptionally good hygienist. Both have left the practice. They always try to find something to make money. I don't think Dr. Vaughn really cares about how the patient feels. The Indian dentist doesn't impress me either in his skills or manners. The receptionists are pleasant and helpful. read more

Made an appointment months ago for my son for a Saturday appointment. Called to confirm the appointment and said we may be a bit late my son is coming from NYC and I was picking him up at the Fairfield train station and we'd be there as close to 2:00 as possible. Samantha the receptionist was very rude and said if we're 15 minutes late we'd have to reschedule. I said we made the appt months ago and my son really needs to have his teeth cleaned and checked. He's coming from the city I'm picking him up and we will be there. When my son went in Samantha was very rude said the hygienists all left. I went in she said they left at 2:05. I said that was unacceptable we've had the appt for months and I confirmed we'd be there. She was dismissive. I was very upset a hygienist came out and said he'd do a partial cleaning. My son said he would not give them his business after being treated so Unprofessionally and rudely. It was appalling. Unprofessional and shoddy work in the past. Never go back. Bad attitude. My entire family switched to Dr. Vaughn this year - my children (ages 5 and 3) think that going to the dentist is an absolute treat! Dr. Vaughn and his staff are wonderful with children - they explain what they are doing, why dental hygiene is important, and give them some fun prizes at the end which they look forward to, as well. I was very pleased with my own cleaning, and care as well. I have found the office hours to be convenient as well. What made this office and their care "five star" for me was when my mom was visiting and had a crown fall out. Dr. Vaughn saw her the next morning at 7 am. He gave her the relief that she could get temporarily, and guidance on next steps for when she returned home. Because it was a consultation, he did not charge her. This review is late, but I hope it will be helpful. I had the same exact experience as other Yelpers here at this practice - being told after x-rays that I had to have work done - then going for a second opinion and finding out that Vaughn Family Dentistry gave me an inaccurate diagnosis. While on maternity leave in 2015. I wanted to get a check up because with pregnancy, etc., I did not pay attention to my teeth for about a year. They performed the routine exam and took x-rays. Thereafter, the dentist came in and told me that I needed at least 6 new crowns! He said that if I did not get this work done, I would be in danger of my teeth completely cracking. I was in disbelief because my last dentist appointment was about a year before (with my long-time dentist in Stamford) and he had never mentioned any of this. I left the office and about three weeks later went back to my dentist. Long story short, I did not need crowns nor any other work - just routine maintenance to prevent gum loss. It has been over four years since that visit and I have not had not had one single issue. If you should decide to go here for a dental visit, it would be wise to get a second opinion before agreeing to get any work done. read more

Dishonest: Stopped in for a cleaning. Was pressured for X-Ray, when I had no pain or discomfort for many, many years. I declined the X-Rays. Next the exam consisted of less than two minutes where he put a camera on a very old crown, took some pictures up close, and showed my worst tooth to have a crack in it. After telling me that if the crack went below the gum line the tooth could not be saved, I asked if an X-Ray would show the crack. He told me yes but after I saw the X-Ray there was no sign of a crack on the film, and he then told me cracks don't show up on X-Ray! WTF? This was why I agreed to the X-Ray! So now they want me to get a new crown put on a damaged tooth? It is fine, the root is fine, and not at all bothersome to me. It is clear to me that if he did what he wanted to do, and tried to put a crown on it, the tooth would become even more damaged, probably fracture worse, cost a lot of money for a new crown, and then probably need an extraction a short while later. My guess is the cracks are not serious, but the photographs are used to scare patients into dental work they do not need. So I ask you this: Would a dentist that cares about his patient want to take a stable situation, and almost certainly make it worse? The focus of this office is to make money. They do not hold the best interests of the patient in mind. I would not recommend them and I doubt I will go back for a follow up cleaning. The best way to treat teeth is frequently cleanings, brushing and water pick daily, and avoiding dishonest dentists like this fellow. Lets put it this way, if the two options were, leave it alone or extra a tooth that is not bothering you, which would you choose? Final thought. I bet if I had a new crown put on and went to another dentist a month later, that new dentist would recommend strongly I get a new crown all over again. read more

Such a great dental office. I went here for the first time in Nov 2007. I had a cleaning and two fillings, and the staff is extremely friendly and I never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting area. The office is very modern and clean, and the cleanings thorough. I have a PPO dental plan so I can go in and out of the dental network. Dr. Vaughn is not in my network, but they still submitted the claims to my insurance carrier. My insurance paid their allowed amount for the services and I did have to pay the difference. So I ended up paying a lot out of pocket. I went back in May for another cleaning and I also was fitted for a mouth guard, because I grind my teeth really bad at night and it was causing me to have headaches and severe jaw pain during the day. It has really helped a lot, I no longer experience headaches, and Dr. Vaughn was the first dentist who was able to recognize that I had a problem and treat me for it. They are great, and so professional. The only reason why I don't give 5 stars is because they are outside of my dental plan so I do have to pay a lot out of pocket. But I dont mind because they are a great dental office. read more

I have been recommended Dr Vaughn from a co-worker while I was in terrible pain. I paged him and he called me back only 5 minutes later to give me an apt 1st thing the day after. He sent me to a specialist (b/c my infection needed a specialist) who took good care of me. I have returned to Dr Vaughn for my cleanings and other dental works. Stay away. Don't be fooled by the upscale looking office and the upscale address. I received a marketing mailing from them offering an introductory cleaning at a low price. It was much closer to me than my regular dentist, so I tried it. First, the hygienist started implying that my previous cleaning wasn't done well. My regular dentist is very established and respected, and was highly recommended. I had never had a problem there. I also rarely get cavities. After the cleaning, this place took some kind of photos that they claimed worked as well as x-ray without the radiation. They told me I had numerous cavities that would cost a large amount of money to fix. I didn't do it. Then when it was time for my next cleaning. I went back to my regular dentist. He took a full set of x-rays and said I had no cavities and my teeth were in very good condition. I've had no problems with my teeth since. I heard about Vaughn Dentistry from some co-workers and figured it was worth a shot with such rave reviews. I am SO glad I listened to them. Joanne is an amazing hygienist that is so friendly and takes great care of me. You can definitely tell she takes great pride in what she does and is genuinely interested in her patients. Dr. Ghandi is also amazing. I was so afraid when I had some cavities that needed filling but he took care of me immediately and with great care.
