Cajun Chick'n, mashed potatoes with gravy, collard greens and cornbread.
    Allie L.

My husband and I have recently gone Vegan so we decided to try out Vegans On The Run and it was DELICIOUS! We had the Cajun Chick'n with mashed potatoes with gravy, cornbread and collard greens! Y'all it took me back to country cooking before we went vegan, I could barely taste the difference. I would highly recommend Vegans on the Run to anyone not just vegans!

The menu has changed in the last year (apologies for lack of photos), so I recommend checking the website's menu for the most current offerings. The potato beignets were a hit appetizer- although truly the oddest beignets I've ever seen- I would order again without hesitation. The kabocha squash hummus and Brussels sprouts were also immediate hits. My duck confit was exceptional and the banana creme pie was enough for 4 people to enjoy a few bites. The menu strikes a nice balance of varied southern/french tastes but focused for quality and thoughtfully curated. Although I noted that we were celebrating a graduation when making the reservation, it was never acknowledged. That said, the service was warm and attentive overall, with the only drawback being infrequent water refills. The volume in the dining room fluctuated and became a bit louder toward the end of our meal. Overall, this restaurant manages to feel both intimate and refined. A charming, upscale spot that's well suited for a special occasion.

The purple sweet potato bread was easily the highlight of the meal. Give me two more orders and call it a night. I had the salmon with wilted spinach, heirloom peas, leeks, and gribiche. The salmon was cooked perfectly with crispy skin, while the peas brought an earthy, slightly nutty flavor with a creamy texture that paired beautifully with the leeks and tomatoes. If I'm ever back in town, this will be the first restaurant I visit.

They consistently thanked us for coming in, and you can tell they're genuinely grateful for the strong community support they have, and is so well deserved. We only live about an hour and a half away, so I can't believe we had never heard of this place before. We were in town for a comedy show this weekend and were looking for somewhere with a nice, calm atmosphere to relax, have a drink, and enjoy a good meal before the show. BELLA FRESCA DELIVERED. Our waiter, Sasha, is one of the owner's sons. He provided top-notch service along with great recommendations. My boyfriend and I are in Shreveport two or three times a month, so we will definitely be coming back. They also mentioned they own another restaurant called Sauvage, and we cannot wait to try that one as well. If you go anywhere else to eat in Shreveport, you're wasting your money.

And then there was a picture of a skull lol. It's very spacious inside. Parking is like downtown parking, we parked in the street. My husband's parallel parking skills could've been better. He's too used to his back up camera. You wait in line and order. The taste of everything was solid. It's fresh. The Cajun dog is made with alligator and pork meat. Texture was good. It's messy so eat it with the fork and knife they gave you, which is my mistake. Everything just tastes better when you eat a hot dog without utensils. The paddie melt is also good as well. The rosemary garlic fries had good flavor and same with the onion rings. They happened to just bring us out the loaded onion rings so we were pleasantly surprised. Service is friendly. Very nice place. The portions were actually loaded because normally I wouldn't think I'd be full from the food but it was really filling. I give it a four out of five because it didn't blow me away. But very solid. Definitely give it a try!
