I was in Gdańsk for only one night during a multi- city tour around Poland. I scoped out vegan…read moreplaces before I came, and I'm so delighted that I found Manna 68! The menu is 100% vegetarian, and mostly vegan (and the non-vegan dishes can all be modified to vegan.) There are also many clearly labeled gluten free options. This is heaven for plant based or celiac/gluten sensitive folks, and a fantastic option for omnivores, too! I don't know any Polish beyond a couple of courtesy words, and eating here was a breeze - both servers spoke fluent English, and there is a detailed English menu with nice descriptions of all the dishes. The vibe inside is calm and lovely and a touch hipster. The food was great! We started with a vegan "lard" made from white beans and prunes; it's one of their house specialties. This was out of this world good: savory with a hint of sweetness and a touch of pepper, and satisfyingly creamy. We also had the sweet and sour "duck" made from seitan. The texture really nailed a fatty piece of duck (which I used to like eating in my pre-vegetarian days), and the sauce was sweet and tasty. We also tried the Jamaican curry, made from coconut and peanut. It didn't taste especially Jamaican, and the flavor was more coconut that peanut butter, but it had lots of crisp veggies and tasted good. Appetizers are around 15 złoty and entrees around 30. Tap water was complimentary at every table, and they sell wine by the bottle and glass as well as 500ml bottles of local craft beer and a nice variety of teas. The bathrooms are downstairs and I don't think they are wheelchair/walker accessible. I'm not sure if I'll ever be back in Gdańsk, but if I am, I'm definitely returning to Manna 68 for some of that pate!

Really enjoyable place to dine. We were here for breakfast and did not spend too much. The meal…read morefills you up and you feel healthy after bc everything is vegan/vegetarian. If you're ordering tea, just know that you're ordering an entire tea pot - I made that mistake. Nice ambience, room temp water, not the fastest service. Would only return to try a dinner dish.

The server brought me a menu, seasonal menu, and drink menu then told me someone would be back in a minute to take my order. Over 10 minutes passed while multiple servers walked back and forth each glancing my way. Two even passed me to go outside in the nice weather and chit chat. I was pretty embarrassed at this point so I got up and left. No one even said goodbye when I left. Luckily there was a place a few blocks over that has friendly staff, great food, and gorgeous view. Check out Vis a Vis if your looking for food because Pierogarnia Stary Młyn is disappointing.

Growing up on boxed or…read morebagged Mrs.Ts or similar. and dreaming of what real pierogi must taste like, we finally unlocked this taste achievement. Sure, I've an occasional 'rog from a church society here and there might cut it but there is nothing like the fresh made goodness here. So good that a woman came in off the street and asked just to take a photo of what we were eating during our meal - unexpectedly odd and her words were something to the effect of "I won't be able to wait to actually eat here but it looks so delicious" so who were we to argue. Take a picture if you must but most importantly get your dough loving self here and fast! Yes, you'll wait a while to be seated likely (though we lucked out and got right in) and yes, you'll wait for the food as they cook them fresh. Busy place, interesting ambiance for people watching and and kind service. Not to mention 10 different pierogi and a drink only set us back 48$ USD.
