Okay, so I am an Adelaide Uni student and this semester all my lectures start early in the morning. Right now, we are experiencing icy weather conditions and while others studying health might be avoiding caffeine, it is a sad but true fact that I deliberately seek it out FOR my mental health. It not only gives me that caffeine kick I need to get my brain kicking over, it is a comfort to feel the warmth emanating from coffee cup to hands as brisk mornings sting my cheeks into being a rosey pink. That being said, I don't always have time in morning to veer way off course to get coffee - so I have decided to review coffee shops (anywhere that sells coffee) from between the Adelaide Train Station and the Uni. Now coffee is very personal, everyone enjoys theirs differently, but I like my coffee strong, smooth and slightly sweet without the need for added sugar. With that being said, my fav is a dbl shot latte - so that is what I'll be reviewing. Ps. I am not a personified coffee expert, just a lover of a coffee and if your spending money on coffee as a full time student you want it to be worth it. So, here goes the first of a series of reviews and I must say we are kicking off to a good start. The coffee is hot enough to be cosy and warm, but not so hot as to scald your tastes buds off, perfect drinking temp. It's strong to the point of tasting the coffee and strong enough to get the neurons firing, but not so strong that you feel like you need a mint to get rid of that lingering coffee taste, it's smooth and milky and no sugar required! Also, the cup is thick enough so as not to burn your hand whilst carrying it... Also an important factor in the whole warming experience. Haven't had coffee here before, I am glad writing these reviews lead me here first! A good way to wake up! Good coffee! ( also as a side note: they have a beautiful array of cakes and toasties, but that's not what this is about...). This morning I am a satisfied coffee drinker and reviewer. PS. No eftpos minimum here! :) read more
