You really can't go wrong going to Velocity Barbell. I was just in the Fort Wayne area for a seminar this past week (yeah I know i'm crazy, I went to a seminar the week of Thanksgiving) and I knew I needed to stay on top of my workout. I decided to check out velocity barbell and boy am I glad that I did! Not only are Brad and his team awesome trainers, but they're also awesome people. The workout was fun, and they welcomed me in as if I was family, even without ever having met me before!! The workout itself was unmatched, I was sure sweating afterward and exhausted. It wasn't a bad exhausted though, like at some other gyms i've been to. It was the kind of exhausted like "damn, I just got a great workout in, and I'm ready to take on the day now!". I've been working out at Velocity Barbell since its opening in June. Beforehand I was stuck in my training program doing crossfit. Crossfit was great for conditioning and getting great cardio, but once it comes to growing muscle (depending on your training age), crossfit shouldn't be used as your primary means of getting stronger. Once I started programming to get stronger, and have some muscle hypertrophy, BOOM, my body took to it instantly. I started off on a volume cycle and noticed my weights going up by 5 pounds week by week. My form on the main compound lifts have been completely re polished, and most importantly my mindset when training is more aggressive and focused. Their coaching skills are off the charts. Their backgrounds differ slightly, which adds variety to the programming. They are extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help. I love this gym, I'm down 13lbs of my #armslikechelsa journey. I haven't worked my ass off so hard before and have fun doing it!! Coaches are PHENOMENAL, walking in the gym to the smiling faces of Coach Chelsea and Brad is the best feeling ever. I feel like I'm part of a family, I love that they hold me accountable through personal text, social media and when I'm really bad phone calls. Facilities are clean, lots of equipment and lots of room. I recommend this gym to anyone and everyone. Gym. I don't even know if you'd call velocity barbell a gym. They treat you far better than just clients. It is By far the most goal oriented gym I've been to. I was new to the Fort Wayne area when I started going to this gym and they welcomed me with open arms. Brad and Chelsea design workouts and diets that WORK. Sure, you can go to planet fitness and work out with 150 other people but there won't be anyone there to hold you accountable and work with you to achieve your goals. I highly recommend this facility to anyone who is serious about making life changes but also wants a friendly, family like environment. read more

This gym changed my life. That sounds cliche and trite, but it's 100% accurate. Not only am I in the best shape of my life (better and healthier than even when I was a college athlete), the owners, Brad and Chelsea, truly care about the people in their gym. They won't take it easy on you, but they will find what works for you and spend the time and effort to get you where you want to be. If you are looking for easy, this isn't it. Velocity Barbell is an AWESOME gym. The owners are very hands-on in running their business, and have provided support 100% of the way on my journey back to fitness. For their challenge promotion, they provided a comprehensive eating plan, group workouts 3x per week, one-on-one mentoring, and tons of encouragement. I really have zero complaints and would reccomend 11/10 times! I am a bit confused as to why only the 3 negative reviews are being counted in their rating and there are 17 positive reviews that are "not reccomended." What's up with that, Yelp?? read more

A great overall experience, Chelsea and Brad really make you feel at home and make you want to come to the gym and workout. They are there to provide guidance and help you develop the proper technique to avoid injury and push you along the way to do your best. They also will provide training programs and dieting programs depending on your personal goals. Equipment is readily available and new weekly challenges are available to mix things up. I had been out of the lifting game for quite some time and decided to come here on the suggestion of a friend. Brad sat me down and explained how things would work, how they went about their programming and what to expect. I've been a member for almost a year now and never in my wildest dreams would have thought I would love this place as much as I do. Let me say as a person concerned with fitness, this place is top notch. I love the atmosphere and the people. The trainers chelsea white and bradley McKee are simply amazing!! The gym is warehouse style and yes is a bit chilly in the morning when they first open, but it gets warmer not to mention you are moving your butt, so you dont really notice. Gym price is fine for me, but chelsea and bradley will work with you. They really are out there to help people. Love this team, love this gym!! Love them!! #slaydragons!! read more

Velocity Barbell is a very family friendly facility! There gym is very nice neat and cleaThese 2 coaches make sure that you are getting everything done and that you are achieving your goals! They have lots of equipment for you to almost do anything, and the price is not expensive for what you are getting out of it, which is a great experience. I'm super confused about these other reviews. Is it expensive? Yeah, a little, but you get what you pay for. Cold? Put on a sweatshirt. Not a family feel? The owners/trainers are the most friendly and inclusive people I've ever met in a gym atmosphere. Brad and Chelsea have cultivated a zero intimidation total motivation vibe and have helped me kickstart my training massively. This is the best place to get yourself back into shape. I did their 6 week training challenge. I have had amazing results through the whole thing. Brad and Chelsea are awesome coaches! They are always there if you start to have doubt about yourself. They push you to be a better you. Also they are just overall awesome people to be around.
