However, Pikeville is a wet city, that means alcohol sales are allowed and so the Pikeville Wal-Mart sells alcohol. But I don't go there for alcohol though, I go there for getting some of things that I can hardly find any at the Wal-Mart in my hometown which is Belfry. Employees in Belfry is a bit better than the one in Wal-Mart though but again it's probably because I know more people at Belfry one than I do at Pikeville though. If you cannot find some of the things at Belfry Wal-Mart and or at Logan Wal-Mart then there's a good chance that you'd find it at this Pikeville Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart need to stock more PC games though!

This is like most other Walmarts in general. Groceries, clothes, house wares etc. It is decently…read moreclean. Not cluttered or nasty floors. They stay stocked pretty good on the whole part. On occasion I may find they are sold out of something but not for too long. In this Walmart on the left you have Subway then groceries, going inward on left you then have kitchen and houseware, cleaning supplies and what-nots for parties and such. Front of store you have the Cost Cutters hair salon, customer care, bathrooms and eye center along with full vision screening. Right side you have garden center, pharmacy and beauty care, pet supply, toys, jewelry, electronics and crafts. Back of the store you have sporting goods, auto care (no garage), more house ware and paints. Then of course in the center you have clothing and shoes. This one does not sell tires but does sell car batteries and supplies. It also does not have a Murphey's USA but there is an Exxon. This also has a hot food center at the start of the grocery area and fresh bakery. It is my go too. Next door to it is also a Save-a-Lot.

When we got to the register, they didn't speak one word to us. Not so much as "did you find everything?" Or "how are you today?" Nothing. They were actually just gossiping about some other customer who goes to that store. What does that tell me? It tells me that they gossip about any customer that comes through there. If you talk about someone behind their back, you'll talk about anyone behind their back. Most of the employees that work there are really nice, very friendly. However, these kids that are working there now need an attitude adjustment and need to realize that they are at work at not drama class. I don't ever post on here. I only wanted to post because I had such a bad experience here. 4/5 since the nice older (as in older than the kids, not old) lady that works there is SUPER nice.

Kroger in Hinton is a lifeline for the community. It's the only "big name" chain supermarket…read morearound, possibly in the county (we are a one stoplight town). So in addition to being an important resource it is also a major employer. It's definitely aging in terms of the building but it is well kept up otherwise. I personally have not seen anything horrible (which I have in other places/other supermarkets). The staff is very kind and helpful. This Kroger carries a surprisingly good assortment of "hippie" products, the sort of thing you find at Whole Foods (which don't exist in West Virginia). It has a good assortment of organic and vegetarian items, as well as local niche offerings including milk in glass bottles, and (fairly) local sausage and beef. They also often carry some 'chi-chi' items, especially in the arena of pickles and condiments and sauces; I got the Truff hot sauce there a while back, and today I picked up some pretty fabulous looking pickles. All in all, as Coastal "Elites" we find most of our needs met pretty well by this small town Kroger. Would I like to see it upgraded? Of course! But I think they are doing a good job serving the town.

The food turned out to be a wonderful surprise for all of us! I believe my Philly Steak sandwich was $6.99. The prices are from a decade ago.
