I was not going to write a review because everyone at the salon was very nice and I understand accidents happen. However, I have now spent way too much money and time trying to fix what was done to my hair at VLVT. I came in asking for a bayalage from Simone and left with a brown bowl cut via blonde dye. My hair came out completely blonde on the lower two thirds with no dye at all on the top third. Simone did spend a while trying to fix it or at least make it presentable but to no avail. She only charged me for the cut ($70) and said I could come back and pay for the color when she fixed it. I've spent over a month going back and forth to another salon trying to fix the globs of blonde that are left on my head (including one platinum blonde spot that can not and will not be hidden) I now have almost black hair to create some kind of normal look. So I have ended up hundreds of dollars poorer and with the exact opposite look I was going for. I feel it's too late to ask for a refund but not too late to tell others. I'm hoping this was just a one time mistake but beware. read more

This was the first time I got the exact color I wanted exactly the way I liked it from CAT. She listened, she questioned and had such a relaxed yet confident manner that much of my stress was gone right away. The final result was the best I could imagine and she is now my hair goddess. I could not recommend her more highly. I have a lot of red, gray and white in my hair and wanted a streaky sandy blonde, an almost impossible job considering there were so many wrong color in there already, but she did it. Leah has been doing my hair for over 10 years now and I follow her wherever she goes. This place is located in wonderful downtown St. Pete with plenty to do and see. The salon is clean and the people are friendly. My son had to go with me (10 years old) and he hung out and felt welcomed as well! Use the parking app so you don't have to go out and feed the meter too! Love this place but love Leah even more! Wow. A different experience. Not sure why the owner of this salon allows stylists to drink and be drunk on the job. A huge level of unprofessionalism. Leah was wearing sweat pants while the other stylists seemed professional. She was talking about how good her Bloody Mary was (and had it there IN HAND) while waiting for her next client. Disappointed... dissatisfied... overcharged...won't go back. I wear my hair short and being new to St. Pete I went to VLVT. We discussed the need to have a bit more off the top, cut over the ear, etc. I told her I had my hair cut 3.5 weeks before so needed a trim with a bit more off the top. Simone said she understood....then took out the clippers and made me look like a poster child for the US Marine Corps. My bangs were near my brows when I entered...she took them up to my hairline...like 1/4 " long. Who does this??? And then charged $55.00...which I was dumb enough to pay. Oh well, their loss. I get my hair cut monthly and tip 20%, so they have lost a valuable customer because I'll never return. read more

I had a friend go here and was severely overcharged. Leah stated that the credit card machine was down at the time. She ended up giving herself a 20% tip on the money that was overcharged. When my friend attempted to let Albie know that she was overcharged and wanted the money refunded, Albie dragged his feet. The bank finally gave her a refund, and now Albie won't leave her alone. He is bothering her and wanting her to come in and "explain" the situation. The truth is, Leah took advantage of her, they refused to refund the overcharge and my friend will NOT BE GOING BACK! There is such a thing as good customer service...but when it borders on harassment, there is a huge problem! read more

Cute salon, clean and very nice employees. My complaint would be their customer service and the fact I got told one price on the phone but paid double when at the salon. I have NO problem paying for a good service but had to redo my style when I got to my hotel. I called a week before I needed my hair done, I am from Florida and was in St Pete for my anniversary and we were having pictures done. I needed my hair washed, dried, styled and my halo extensions put in to blend. I was told on the phone that my stylist could do that for me. Perfect, do I made the appointment. When I got to my appointment the lady who was suppose to do my hair was sick(understandable), So they had me wait for another stylist, happened to be the owner for about 15 minutes. So instead of calling me and telling me that they decided not too until I had no other choice but to get my hair done for an event I was going to. Again not complaining about that, I totally get being sick but as the owner I expected him to be able to do the style I wanted. Down, my halo extension put in and curled. He said he didn't do curls and he would have the co owner help out because she has that same extension. I was happy again! But the lady ended up putting the extensions in wrong and I had to help her out... really??? Just tell me you can't do it. They redeemed themselves and My hair looked great when I left, I paid $75 + $25 tip BUT 5/10 minutes after my extensions separated from my hair and the curls fell out. I had to go back and do it myself so my photos would look good. I am a stylist myself and would have never let a guest walk in without telling them ahead of time that their stylist wasn't able to be there, I would have not as the OWNER said I don't do curls. My hair holds curl VERY well they just didn't do a good job. They were unprofessional and overpriced for me to have to redo my hair minutes after stepping out of the door. I would never do that to any of my guests. I hate to give this review because I am pretty easy going but had to because I hold myself to a higher standard so should ALL stylists especially the ones in charge. read more

Stations are well spaced, everyone including clients wear masks, hand sanitizer available everywhere, and care and compassion for each customer during their visit.
