This past Saturday I went to this salon and booked with Alexis and WOW! Got a balayage w soft money pieces and she slayyyyed! This girl is such a trendsetter and I took a look at her ig profile and she does some crazy color work i'd check her out for sure but also the salon is so beautiful and has a barber section too so i feel like it's perf for couples to go in and get everything done at once! everyone was super kind and welcoming, and ofc loved the freebies (drinks & eye patch/hair repair mask)! will definitely be back to try some teal in my hair next time by Alexis! her ig is feelin.vivid :)

The brown bowl cute via blonde dye.

I was not going to write a review because everyone at the salon was very nice and I understand accidents happen. However, I have now spent way too much money and time trying to fix what was done to my hair at VLVT. I came in asking for a bayalage from Simone and left with a brown bowl cut via blonde dye. My hair came out completely blonde on the lower two thirds with no dye at all on the top third. Simone did spend a while trying to fix it or at least make it presentable but to no avail. She only charged me for the cut ($70) and said I could come back and pay for the color when she fixed it. I've spent over a month going back and forth to another salon trying to fix the globs of blonde that are left on my head (including one platinum blonde spot that can not and will not be hidden) I now have almost black hair to create some kind of normal look. So I have ended up hundreds of dollars poorer and with the exact opposite look I was going for. I feel it's too late to ask for a refund but not too late to tell others. I'm hoping this was just a one time mistake but beware.

By the way Albie cuts hair like nobody else.

This is a group of real artists who listen and recommend and work with you to get the ideal look for you. Most first visits with a new colorist are like first dates, both of you are trying to get to figure each other out, rarely are the results perfect. This was the first time I got the exact color I wanted exactly the way I liked it from CAT. She listened, she questioned and had such a relaxed yet confident manner that much of my stress was gone right away. The final result was the best I could imagine and she is now my hair goddess. I could not recommend her more highly. I have a lot of red, gray and white in my hair and wanted a streaky sandy blonde, an almost impossible job considering there were so many wrong color in there already, but she did it. This might not be the color you want but I can assure you that whatever you do want, she can get you there. Queen Cat!

Got a hair color by Natalia, she was awesome! Check out her baby pic, cutting her mom's hair, proof of a seasoned pro..;)

Amazing service!! They took me last minute after having an appointment cancelled at a previous salon. Albie (Salon owner) was super professional and personable. Everybody made me feel at home. Natalia is a superb stylist. Very friendly and professional. So glad to have found this place. They set themselves apart from other salons in offering great costumer service. Highly recommend them!!

    Yu-Lee is amazing!

A picture is worth a thousand words, so here are mine! I was introduced to Yu-Lee when I went into Brew D Licious to see my friend Brigitte. How lucky was I to be at the right place at the right time?? As you can see, I am Asian (half) and I have the black, thick, Asian hair....and of course...I wanted to be a BLONDE! Yu-Lee uses organic products and my hair not only looks beautiful, but it FEELS amazing!!! I love VLVT salon. Albie is awesome, talented, and welcome my daughter and I into his salon every time we come in. I have referred my friends to Yu-Lee, people have seen my photos on YELP and gone to see Yu-Lee, but the most important person to me that I trust Yu-Lee to do their hair is my daughter. That's how much I love Yu-Lee! She is an artist, and I trust her with my daughter, and I'm lucky to call her my friend too!

I moved to St. Pete recently and was lucky enough to find a great colorist/stylist on my first try. Thank you Katrina Evans! She listened to what I wanted, and delivered what I asked for! Not to mention she's super cool and it was an instant connection!!!

I was ready for something different and started calling salons in St. Petersburg. This salon was the first to answer around 6pm and they were able to get me in the next day at 10am! I was blessed to have Brandi as my stylist. She took her time with my hair, making sure she was proud of her work and that I was happy. The atmosphere in this salon is awesome! If you're a rocker like me, you'll feel at home!

Albie is magical with a pair of sizzors! Love, love, love him!

I booked two blow dry appointments at Sip and Dry for my sister's rehearsal dinner--one of which was supposed to include a ponytail for my sister, the bride. I chose this blow dry bar because a ponytail is clearly listed as one of the available styles under the blowout section on their website. When we got there, they kept the bride waiting around for 20 minutes before finally informing us that they "didn't feel comfortable" doing a ponytail because they didn't have enough girls trained in that style. Seriously, a hair and beauty business with 6-8 creative professionals on staff at the time, and no one could do a simple ponytail? On the day of her rehearsal dinner! The bride ended up crying in the chair, and I started crying too, and no one working there cared or showed the slightest bit of empathy. When I expressed my disappointment on the way out, the girl at checkout (don't know her name, but she had pink hair) dismissively told me that ponytails are considered an "updo," and they didn't have enough girls trained in a ponytail to do my sister's. When I pointed out that ponytails are listed under the blowout section on their own website, she just looked away and didn't respond. No acknowledgment, no apology--just silent, rude indifference. The ponytail didn't include any pinning of hair, which is what they define as an "updo". They ruined what should have been a joyful, memorable part of my sister's wedding weekend. The place had a very strange vibe, was completely unprofessional, and I just can't understand how the people working are so bad at interacting with humans. I would never recommend Sip and Dry to anyone--especially not for anything remotely special.

They offer several "sips" including seasonal sips. The blowouts are always consistent and if you get a membership any extra you get during the month are only 40.00. Best choice made because Yu-Lee came through and magicked (I've got no better word) my hair to life. There's so much dimension and I adore the blending. Yu-Lee was even considerate to color my hair in such a way my white/grey hairs would blend in while growing out! The salon is so cozy and bright and everyone is friendly, considerate, and professional at what they do. Pricing was reasonable to me, especially considering my virgin hair took quite a bit of time to lighten. Can't go wrong with coming here :)

Like stations set up in a row, etc. It felt so personal and comforting! I've had more than my share of hair horror stories and had been with the same stylist for over 15yrs after so many bad ones before. But moving to FL, I've been so nervous and the first two stylist i met damage my hair and even my scalp! So I was very apprehensive about any others here. I researched a lot until I found this one. Jen was so responsive and kind while we were scheduling. I had at least two inches of growth, usually having color low lights and pretty blonde highlights over dark brown hair. Plus I have very Long, thick and course hair. Jen was so nice and had a pretty good idea of what I was trying to achieve. Her products smelled so good and I didn't feel any discomfort! She dedicated hours and it paid off for me! Despite my growth, it looks amazing! It looks like I envisioned. If you know anything about lightening and keeping up with it, it's not easy so I will need another session to get it perfect. But even so, you'd never even notice! I finally left a Fl stylist without crying!! I trust her so much with my hair, we even discussed going a little lighter and making slight changes. My hair even feels healthier and smoother after my first wash. Other things a valued about Jen: she didn't try to push any products on me but I loved them so much, I'm going to get some! She also didn't make me feel ugly. She didn't make try to push her own suggestions and really heard what I wanted. She explained everything, including why to have a good trim. Which btw made my ends looks so dramatic cleaner. I could go on and on but hopefully this provides enough reasons to trust Jen! I trust her so much, I'm even taking her recommendations for other services like lash work. * Being asian and white, my hair isn't perfect or stereotypical to either ethnicity. I only bring this up because when I was searching for someone who was good at Asian or difficult hair, I didn't find anything so I'm hoping this helps someone.

Other than highlights and a haircut every 7-8 weeks I do not indulge in any salon services so it was such a treat to have my hair washed and styled by someone else. I love that Bubbles & Blowouts offers a childcare area if I cannot get my husband to watch our toddlers. After an exhausting Thanksgiving I decided that I could use a little pampering and treated myself to a blowout before our family Christmas pictures. I had heard great things about Bubbles & Blowouts from the Moms of South Tampa so I checked out the website and to see their hours and discovered I could book an appointment online. I really liked that I could book an appointment online instead of calling because I rarely get a minute to pick up the phone with my clingy one year old. Not only was I able to book my reservation quickly and quietly after I put my toddlers to bed, but I was also able to score a morning appointment before nap time! The location on South Dale Mabry is super convenient to my house and there was plenty of parking spots available. Loved the fun and modern decor and music. Did I mention the awesome childcare area?! The owner obviously gets that busy moms want to get pampered, but do not always have access to a babysitter. My stylist Dali was so sweet and friendly and did an amazing job with my hair! I decided to pay a little extra and added beach waves to my blowout. The result was so pretty and she added enough hairspray so that my hair still looked fabulous five hours later at our photoshoot!

Today, after being a longtime customer of J.Con Salon, the owner called to thank me for my business…read moreand tell me I was no longer welcome as a customer. The reason is something women should know before deciding whether to do business here: they charge women more for haircuts than men. I have worked with two stylists at this salon. Both gave me amazing haircuts. My issue is not with them. It is with the salon's pricing policy that determines the starting price of a haircut by the customer's gender. When I first questioned the difference in pricing, I was told it was based on the amount of time it generally takes to cut men's versus women's hair. I explained that I have short hair and didn't understand why I was automatically charged the women's haircut price simply because I am a woman. My stylist told me I wasn't the first customer to raise the issue. She said it had been discussed with the owner, he wasn't changing the policy, and she didn't agree with it either. The price of my haircuts continued to increase as my stylist advanced through promotions and continuing education. I was happy to continue supporting her career, but last week I questioned the gender policy again. That is what led the owner to call me and tell me I was no longer welcome as a customer. He told me my questions had made my stylist uncomfortable. I'm sharing this because women should know that this salon uses gender, not individual service needs, as the starting point for haircut pricing. According to the salon's published pricing, a Designer Stylist haircut starts at $45 for women and $31 for men, a difference of $14. A Master Stylist haircut starts at $71 for women and $47 for men, a difference of $24. If you're a woman, those price differences remain in effect even if your haircut requires the same amount of time, or less time, than a man's haircut. Some states have prohibited what they describe as "gender-based pricing for substantially similar goods and services." Florida has not. A haircut is a service. Services should be priced based on the service provided, not the gender of the customer.
