We had so much fun at Vernardos'. For a budget circus in the mall parking lot, they put on quite a spectacle! Acrobats, strong men, a clown, and much more. And a good opening act if you arrive early, too! The circus food was fantastic. I don't usually indulge in pink lemonade and cotton candy together--not great for one's A1C. But both were absolutely worth it. Staff were all friendly from check-in to food counter to the performers. Do pay attention to where you're sitting. The general admission tickets are open seating and there are several seats with reduced visibility due to support structures. Try to sit somewhere you have a good sight-line. My 5 year old and I went to Venardos Circus when it came to Richmond, TX. It was awesome!!!!! We're definitely fans and will be repeat customers whenever they come our way again. The show was 1 hr 30 min (including a ~15 min intermission). If I had to make an age recommendation, I'd say it's best for ages 4 and up. Ages 3 and under may still enjoy the show but would probably have a hard time staying still for such a long time, I'd imagine. You can also show up 1 hour early to have first choice in seating, and there is a pre-show performer to keep you entertained if you choose to go early. My 5 year old was laughing so hard at the funny parts AND amazed by the feats that the performers accomplished. I'm so glad we got to go! read more

This circus got everything just right! The artistry of new school circuses + the nostalgia of the classics. Every performer was extremely talented and had my family captivated. Two points of caution for those with sensitive littles, it's loud overall (but there are no surprise loud sounds) and my 7 year old daughter was distressed by the knife throwing so we left the tent for that part. What I saw was impressive though! The acts were a compilation of the quintessential circus hits: tight rope, juggling, contortionist. To top it all off, everyone was so welcoming and friendly! This was a last minute decision as we were trying to find fun things to do with our three year old nephew and it did not disappoint!! It was INCREDIBLE!! My daughter is never still, literally, never. But you can see she was completely mesmerized by not only the silks and the rings but the sparkles, and she just turned 2 years old. My son is 8 and he liked it okay...he said it was a circus from the "old days" and he appreciated it being under a tent. He also approved of the "clown that was funny but not creepy". The only negative was it was a 96 degree heat wave sooo inside the tent was super hot as well, my 2 year old made it to intermission but I think the heat was getting to everyone so we missed the end. Amazing, SUPERB, Excellent, Extraordinary, performance. Don't let the size fool you! Yes, it's small but full of talented acts that keep both the kids and adults entertained. It even has some interactive skits involving the audience; adults and kids are picked which you know the children love that. The show lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes with a 15 minutes intermission. During the intermission they have face painting for the kids - it ranges from $5-$20 depending on what you get. Also, in the tent there's a concession stand selling popcorn, sodas, cotton candy, hot dogs, icee, nachos - you know the usual snacks at a circus. A nice gesture they provide is that at the end of the show you can take a picture with all of them for no additional cost. The tent is setup in the Palms of Town and Country where there is plenty of parking. What makes this circus so special is that they're talented but humble with a nice message behind about following your dreams. I will definitely come to see them again if they come back. The circus was in an odd location, way out in the country, they are teamed up the dry creek social club which lets them set up near the back of the parking in a field and the bar sells alcohol drinks outside the entrance. in side the circus you can buy toys, face painting , and concessions that consisted of fresh hot popcorn made in small batches, snow cones made to order, nachos, freshly made lemonade, soda drinks in cans and bottles of water. the show started promptly and their acts were fine and talented. after a 15 min intermission some of the acts came out in performed something else.ended on time with all acts coming out to say goodnight and some roamed around and posed for pictures. the crowd was small, the tent is small, the seats are small, but size doesnt count when it comes of old fashioned fun; read more

Hubby has been reading a book about a circus when we drove by the Asheville Outlets and saw a red and white stripped tent set up in the parking lot. He immediately google searched and found out it was the amazing Venardos Circus. We invited friends with a 9 yr. old boy. He'd never been to a circus. It's is small, but makes up for it in talent and personality. 6 players strong, these folks put on a show for everyone. We were constantly amazed by the performers from juggling to tight wire walking, in ballet toe shoes! A couple's pole routine was a show of strength and elegance. The high-wire ropes and swing routines to a straight-jacket escape! So talented. The up close and personal involvement made for a great evening.The soundtrack was on point with old and new favorites with a couple of mash-ups included, enhancing the show, with great music. The smell of popcorn in the air, just magical. All the concession items made from scratch and daily for each performance. Buy your tickets early and get there early to get a good seat, and enjoy the pre-show. We saw a flea circus and our friend went up to help! He had a great time. The view is great from anywhere under the big top. We will certainly be looking for the Venardos Circus' return to Asheville next year. This is one show I don't ever want to miss when it comes thru town. I recommend the Venardos Circus to anyone of any age, it is a show that leaves you smiling. -I have to give the performers props for playing to a masked audience, where audience feedback is part of the show. As my Colombian friends say, "one thing is one thing, and another thing is another thing." I say this because the show, although it is a modest circus, is very familiar and entertaining. Now, another thing are the accommodations, because nobody told us anything about the different categories of seats until when there were enough people and it is not comfortable to find out about this at this stage of the show and that way, although the way was very respectful to do it to me to know. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the Venardos Circus. We went on Valentines Day and it started to rain. The entrance was flooded, my wife and I looked at each other and thought that it was going to be a long night. When you walk in, the venue is small and the performers were also helping in selling toys, snacks and face painting. The stage was not that big so we were not expecting much. The tent looks small at first glance, but once you step inside and watch the show the size of the tent does not matter at all. The performers are very talented. There is singing and dancing, there are some wild stunts and yummy snacks. Some of the snacks are cotton candy, soft pretzels, and popcorn in three sizes. No animals, just real circus performers (juggling, funny acts, stunts, and acrobatics). I imagine it feels like the circus of '20's.
