Michael from Stake Home Renovations swooped in to the rescue! My husband and I did our homework this time around. We vetted various renovation companies and decided to go with Stake Renovations as they checked all the boxes. Off the bat Michael swept in with a detailed plan, a reasonable quote, timeline, and a great team of experts. Michael dedicated time to sit with me and discuss design alternatives for the apartment, that will best maximize on space. The Stake team executed the work as planned and with attention to every detail. Our home was in good hands with Michael, so much so that we decided to expand the scope to include our basement, with a new kitchen and sprucing up of our utility room. Of course they helped with design ideas and provided reasonable quote for the additional work - installing air mini-split units through the apartment and basement (the modern ceiling insert kind) - also replaced a huge large water heater tank with a space saving modern wall mount tankless water heater. I can't say enough positive things about Tony, his work and his business practices. He and his team…read morehave worked on my house for the past 20 years from our original whole house renovation to upgrades and updates as needed. He built out a full basement for us which included bedroom, bathroom, laundry room, utility room, closets and even a real cedar closet with actual cedar planks including the ceiling. He has replaced every window in the house with Andersen windows and even added French doors, sliding doors and a box window. He changed every door in the house to solid six panel doors and assisted in the family room and office built in by installing them. He build the most incredible custom walk in closet converting a bedroom into a spectacular use of space. He has renovated 3 bathrooms and kept them updated as needed most recently replacing a honed marble threshold in the shower and reinstalling the custom glass doors. The most recent improvement was the replacement of our gas water heaters since the old ones were starting to leak. He not only upgraded what we had, had the new ones delivered and installed all in one day in order to get us back up and running with little inconvenience. He has installed whole house water filtration, added instant hot and a garbage disposal making sure we have all the modern conveniences a home should have. He treats our home as if it is his own. On a personal note he has seen my children grow up and we have seen his son join his business and grow and learn from the best. Tony and the Functional Spaces team worked with me to completely gut and renovate an entire house…read more We removed and installed new walls, steel beams were installed, 3 complete bathroom were redone, a full kitchen renovation, a bedroom was turned into the main walk in closet with custom built ins, new AC, new heated engineered wood floors, a full redo of the electrical system and lighting plan for the entire house, new staircase, windows and siding plus so much more was done to make this home stunning! The team worked seamlessly with the architect and the inspectors to make sure the permits were all in place. Tony was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He was patient in answering my numerous questions and concerns along the way. Gus (the main carpenter) was incredible in installing custom built in shelves in various areas. He is a true artist!! The whole team of guys were pleasant and knowledgeable and fun to work with. I actually missed seeing them everyday when the house was complete!
