So... Today was the first day of the nail salons opening after being closed for approximately two months due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I was so eager to get my nails done after having many failed attempts at doing them myself during quarantine. I normally go to the Venetian nail salon in Kendall but something told me do a quick google search to be certain if they would be listed as open and to my surprise it was not. However, I see another Venetian nail spa location listed as open which is closer to me so I said hey why not? Again, I was so excited to do my nails I didn't think to check the reviews. I knew the salon I normally attended always gave great service so I didn't think it could be that bad. I was totally wronged!!! I had a guy named Henry do my dip powder manicure and I swear it had to be his first time doing nails ever!!! He seemed to be really inexperienced. I did have two broken nails that was much shorter than the rest of my natural nails so I needed two nail tips to make them even. He missed the mark and cut them way too short which looked super awkward so I asked if he could do it over. He did with no problem but this time he cut down the previous nail and filed it a bit and then put the new nail on top of the old nail tip which I found to be very odd. I didn't stress but I knew at that moment this was going to be a disaster. When the time came for him to start the dipping process he started the base coat at the very top of my nail bed and even got some on my cuticle which I knew was not going to be good. Once he did the dip I could see the patches in some areas so the powder was not evenly distributed. I had to comment to her him to do better. The good thing about it he was not rude in any way but just seemed to not know what he was doing. Long story short my nails turned out very hideous. I asked for almond shape nails and I left with round amateur nails. And to think this place is super expensive and this is the level of service they are offer. The first manicurist who tried to do my nails destroyed my cuticles and they remained sore, then she did not know how to file them in the shape I indicated. I came in with long oval nails--my natural nails, that only needed minimal filing. I told her to keep the shape the same. But she began to square them off. I tried to explain oval in English and Spanish and even showed a photo after she changed the shape. But to no avail and the polish was painted on terribly, streaky and not careful. I told the front desk girl (very helpful) the result and she agreed it was badly done. She called her manager and they "graciously" allowed them to be repainted by someone else, but still wanted to charge me after. The second manicurist was very nice and understanding but the quality of mail polish was terrible. honestly I could have done a better job of painting them myself. I went to get my nails done on a Saturday night, but by Sunday morning my nails were chipped--and no , I did not do any dishes or chores. Really did nothing that would make them chip so quickly (see photos). The paint crackled and began to chip, so either the polish OPI or the base/top coats were faulty. Also the basic manicure i chose did NOT do the the hand lotion massage or "hot towel service" as indicated in the menu they showed me that day. Worst nail place I've ever been to. Went there for the first time because the it seemed like a nice place. Walked in and told them I needed a dip powder manicure. Denise was the lady who did my nails. We chatted about their customer service policy and she told me if anything happened to come in and she will fix them free of charge. They looked decent upon completing them, but a week later 4 of them came off while opening a ziplock bag. After that I took a closer look at all my nails and every single one of them were lifting. I went in the next day to get them fixed, and Denise was not polite about fixing them. She only wanted to fix the 4 that popped off even though all of them were on the brink of coming off. She wanted to charge me again but I refused to pay another $45 after only having them done a week prior. She reluctantly fixed all of them and rushed through the process, making my cuticles bleed with the drill. Here we are a week later, again, and 2 more popped off while folding laundry. A gel manicure with soak off of the previous gel took an hour and a half without reason because the outcome of the manicure was unacceptable. I have obvious uneven nails and there were so many opportunities to fix the mistakes during the manicure and no effort was made. Even AFTER pointing it out to the tech. One nail was breaking apart during the manicure and instead of cutting the nail down she said she was going to leave the broken nail as is and apply multiple coats of gel polish in hopes that it "cured" the broken nail back together. It hurt to pay and tip this tech and I will never return. The tech also told me that next time, I should pay for tips and try the dip powder. There is no next time. I told her, we already paid for both services ahead of time (in store) but she still had an attitude the entire time she did my mom's nails. She spoke kindly to another Hispanic customer (that she wasn't even working with) while completely ignoring my mom and making the entire situation very uncomfortable for her. I feel like this treatment that my mother received came from prejudice. My mother is a dark skinned black woman and she gave the employees NO reason to treat her like that as she was polite and didn't make any demands or difficult requests. I even stopped her a couple of times because she was digging into my toes saying I have I grown nails, which I've been getting pedicures for 15+ years and that has never been a problem of mine. I never leave reviews and this time I feel inclined given my recent experience. I was there on Sunday August 4th (around 4/5pm) and did my nails with an elderly lady. She did a super sloppy job with Dip on my fingers and cuticles and yet I still left a $15 tip. Not even 24 hours after, one nail badly breaks at 7:50am (Monday Aug 5) just from opening the fridge door. I call around 10am to speak with the manager and explained my situation. The manager's name is Ann and she told me to come in and get a tip added on. So I left work early that Monday to get the tip placed on the one nail. Now, Tuesday (Aug 6) afternoon, I was at work and went to readjust my ponytail and to my disbelief ... a different nail broke. At this point I'm questioning what I even paid for because clearly the Dip is not holding or offering any protection to my natural nails. So, here I go again and call Tuesday afternoon and explain to them that another nail has broken and expressed my concern at the service I received and how this has never happened to me. The manager Ann said to come in and get the tip added on. I told her the only day I could go would be Thursday August 8. So, when the date arrived I went back to the nail salon and the manager sat me with the older lady who did my nails originally. I explained to her that I think the Dip was done wrong because my nails keep on breaking over doing simple tasks. The lady turned to me and said "when I do nail this don't happen. You don't know how to open soda cans!" I truly don't understand her sudden outburst because what do soda cans have to do with the reason MY nails are broken. I always use silverware to open soda cans because I don't like to use my nails, ever. Perhaps she has to use her nails and has terrible experiences herself. I found her statement to be extremely irrelevant. I told her "why would I want to break my own natural nails? I'm clearly frustrated and just want what I paid for". I asked if she could just redo them since they clearly are fragile and she said I would have to pay. I called the manager immediately and told her how it was possible that I was now expected to pay again due to a poorly done service. So Ann said they can reshape and redo for $10. I was already not happy with the old lady so I said to just get a tip for today. Sunday August 11... a completely different nail breaks more than halfway across and another nail is chipped. Now, you can imagine my severe frustration. I called and my call kept getting sent to voicemail -- they were still open. I called Monday August 12 and same thing. I truly think they did not want to speak with me given everything that has been happening as of late. I knew I was very angry and decided it was better to call Tuesday August 13 since it was a day I had off. I called around noon time and spoke with Ann. I said on the phone "I don't want to harass anyone or question anyone's work ethic but my nails were done wrong. I just want them redone." Ann asked me to come in and redo my nails with Ken/Kenny later today (again it is Tuesday August 13). I show up around 4/5 pm and Vivian attends me. I told her "I spoke with Ann and she told me I was to get my nails redone with Ken/Kenny since I've had a bad experience". She told me he was gone for the day but she could help me. I asked if we could call the manager to explain the situation and she said it wasn't necessary because she knew what has been going on. So, I sat on the chair of doom for now a FOURTH time within a WEEK. I will say she was much nicer and did a great job on the Dip manicure. However, when I get up to leave I was under the impression I would not be charged. And I was thrown a curveball. She said it would be $55. I was in complete shock. I explained to her that Ann told me it was at no cost and how it seems a bit ridiculous I have to pay twice due to the initial bad service. Vivian got the manager on the phone and she put me to speak with her. Ann (manager) said "you never told me you wanted them redone so we will charge you $25 so it's a 50% discount". To which I said "I have come 4 times and the last time I was here you said if anything you would only charge me $10". A this point I was surrounded by many associates who seemed interested on the whole situation. One kind associate even stepped up and said "you shouldn't have to pay. I've seen you here every time in the last week. Clearly they did it wrong the first time". I told the associate "thank you, that's what I was told but here I am being charged a full $55 again". Then another lady comes up and spoke with Vivian in Vietnamese. She then turned to me they will just charge $15. I told her I was told I wouldn't pay and now I'm told different numbers by everyone, even Ann the manager. She said she would only leave it at $15. Since I was fed up with the services, the staff, the attitude, the constant return to the salon, the disorganization, the disrespect ... I decided to pay and leave completely unsatisfied. read more

This place is great! I don't have any complaints about my visit. I went to get a pedicure and a dip manicure. I told the tech I had never gotten a dip mani before and she explained the entire process to me willingly. When she finished, she made sure I was happy with the final product. I asked her to buff the nails under again because there was still some stuck (i dont know how to explain this but i got tips and there was still nail) and she did it but also let me know it would fall off when I washed my hands. Both of the women I got were very friendly. Unfortunately, I don't know their names. My pedi lady's name began with an S. The woman next to me was getting her nails done by a man and when she asked him the price of something on their list he just said "I don't know." Had an appointment for 3 people yesterday. Showed up on time and we were seated in a reasonable amount of time. However, while someone came to begin nails pretty quickly, it was about 3-5 minutes until a second person came and by the time we had a third about 10-15 minutes had passed. My guy was so fast and paid no attention to detail. He barely did any work on the nails and didn't do a good job filing at all (leaving one toe with a jagged edge). Put no effort into using the pumice. I was done about 2 minutes after the 3rd in our group began. He put less energy and attention to detail into the manicure. Didn't push back the cuticles at all, rather just tapped my nails with the tool. Close to being the worst mani/pedi ever. He didn't even wear gloves and his hand were worn and dirty looking. I'm irritated because he is lying trying to pretend I did not just catch him trying to steal from me, but tell him AGAIN I want tfw $27 pedicure. After a bit more he says I have callus and he needs to scrub. I tell him I just want to leave now. I tell him I'll pay the $27 but I wanted to leave. He says not to and he was just offering me the better service so I can relax and I tell him it's not making me relax and reminded him I'd told him now 3 times exactly what I wanted and informed him I knew what it cost. I don't want to keep being offered extra stuff. He says it's part of my pedicure and I say " fine, if it is included in my $27 pedicure please do it. If it is not, I do not want it." From the beginning, I let the staff know I did not want nail polish. I recently had acrylic removed from my toes which left my nails damaged so I am letting them heal. I checked the prices, made a selection, and reiterated multiple times to the nail tech what it was that I wanted. He tried to upsell, he tried to price gouge, and then tried to gaslight me as if I did not know what I chose. I used to go to Venetian nails in Doral and always enjoyed the atmosphere, very relaxing. I thought coming to this location would be the same. It is not. This was not a relaxing experience by any means, and I absolutely will not be returning. When it was finally over I went to pay. The front desk attendant before charging me asked if I wanted to do my nails. I responded and said "no, I will not be returning here for anything." I had to write about how amazing Keith is! It was only my second time getting a powder dip manicure, and he was great. Patient, covered the entire nail, shaped it how I wanted, didn't mind getting covered in pink sparkles. I will be back to see Keith. For those of you who have never done a dip manicure, it's amazing. I was getting annoyed with gel manicures because I felt like they were chipping after a week and I was spending $30+. Dip manicures are usually only $5 more than gel. My last dip manicure lasted two weeks and honestly were still perfect. My nails just grow extremely fast. Two things to keep in mind with dip: you don't get a "manicure" per se - they're not sitting there cutting your cuticles and putting oils and lotions and things. You could probably ask for some of that but it might cost extra. Second, at this place, they used UV light but only for the top coat to seal it. My last dip manicure didn't require UV, but I didn't see the harm because I'm not allergic. read more
