May 22, 2026 | Friday | My most recent walk to my local Venice Farmers Market was so much fun! Gorgeous flowers, fresh veggies, and fruit, neighbor sightings, and a discovery of several items that were completely new to me! Fun! Sightings | Vibrant Beet Noodles! Toffee almonds, and toffee sunflower seeds! Two separate flower stands with gorgeous flowers of all kinds, as well as friendly people at the stands, who knew the details of the flowers! There was also a long line at the Kombucha stand! I sampled several items, which caught my eye, including Banana Bread Spread(pecans, hazelnuts, freeze dried bananas, raw local honey & sea salt)! Yum!! Busy Bee | It's quite the popular place to be! There were plenty of people throughout the market, even more than I expected, bright, and early at the start of the market! Hours | Each Friday! 7AM-11AM! Parking | Free spaces in the parking lot! Samples | Several throughout the market, which is a great introduction to new items and seems to get me every time, once they spark my taste buds! Haha! To-Go | Several bouquets of vibrant Flowers to add to my colorful vases, Lemons, colorful Carrots, toffee Almonds, toffee Sunflower Seeds, and Banana Bread Spread! I'm still thinking about the beet noodles, which I'll definitely snatch up next time, as I always love beets and have them on hand! Overall I had fun walking around the market, it was great interacting with people at several stands, & I happily, walked back home to the beach with a handful of flowers and goodies! It's always a wonderful idea to support local farmers, as well as have an option to select fresh fruit, and veggies! Perfect Friday Morning Farmers Market -- Fresh, Friendly, and Easy! The Venice Farmers Market is one of my absolute favorite ways to start a Friday morning. It's open every Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and it's the perfect place to pick up fresh essentials for the week. What I love most about this market is how easy and convenient it is. Parking is simple, it's never overly crowded, and you can pop in and out quickly -- even before work since it opens early. All the vendors and farmers are super friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. You'll find everything here -- fresh produce (including delicious avocados), beautiful flowers, Mexican food, salsa, and so much more. It has all the basics you need without the hustle and bustle of larger markets. I usually go to the Wednesday Santa Monica Farmers Market, which is great but much busier and more competitive when it comes to parking. By contrast, the Friday Venice market is much quieter and more relaxed -- truly a hidden gem. If you live nearby and have Friday mornings free, I highly, highly recommend stopping by this market. Arnett Farms had Oro Blanco grapefruits for sale and they had a sign up calling them Pummelo Chinese Grapefruit. They are two completely different grapefruit species with extremely different characteristics such as texture, taste, size, and mildness as well as price. The Oro Blanco grapefruits I purchased weren't even ripe yet. I know this because I used to work for them over 30 years ago. I would not have paid for Pummelos instead of Oro Blanco grapefruit had I known that was what I was buying. After I bought them the woman collecting money said "Oh we sold out of Pummelos even though they still displayed the pummelo sign so buyers were tricked into buying their Oro Blancos instead of really getting their Pummelos. Plus I know from experience they only have one or maybe two Pummelo trees so they're buying them from someone else. I know these are not Pummelos because they are NOT pink inside and they taste extremely bitter. Such a rip off. read more

My boyfriend and I love coming here! Definitely the highlight of the week, it's a great neighborhood farmers market.

The staff are horrible. I went recently with my dog.. We walked a couple of miles to get there. My dog is 10 years old and well behaved. As we were walking in the middle an older man that works there literally ran at me to tell me no dogs allowed and suggested I tie her to a tree which was out of view... Next to a homeless encampment .. Sure bud. I explained we are just looking and that she is a support animal. I proceeded towards the booth I came for. The bakery. As I was about to quickly grab my bread and leave, the man who was now following me around ran over and again said I could not purchase anything with a dog. The dog is a support animal in addition to being a senior well behaved dog. I noticed the market was shockingly empty of customers compared to the Marina Del Rey market, Santa Monica Market and Palisades market which I will go to on occasion. I also noticed several other dogs walking around as I was being yelled at to leave. Not sure if this unhinged worker just chooses who is allowed to shop at the market or what the deal is but I will not go to this market at any point in the future and I will direct anyone that I can to go elsewhere. Edit.. After reviewing the other reviews I recognize the psychotic that was harassing me. It's James Murez the market manager whatever that title is. James, thank you for your response. I appreciate that you glossed over the several mentions of the animal in question being an ADA protected support animal. I also appreciate that the only time you comment is when it is related to you. Shows how much you care about your vendors. Looks like he also tried running for city council recently.. Unsurprisingly he lost.. Disaster averted. To the vendors.. Get rid of this loser.. He is literally costing you all a lot of money. read more

This is a small market but the perfect size if you live at or near Venice. I seen one seafood vendor, one bread vendor who by the way are my absolute favorite and I stalked them everywhere ( lox of bagels) really their a bagel vendor. A few fruits and veggies, eggs, the cheese man has phenomenal organic burrata cheese as well as others. All and all, it's a quick pick up, you won't stay for hours looking and theirs NO HOT FOOD VENDORS except fresh hot coffee. I literally only come for the bagels. If I've ran out and can't wait for the Hollywood market on Sunday. Parking of course is street only and non existent. read more

WARNING: MAGGIE'S FARM IS A FRAUD !!! I'm a former employee of several years with Maggie's Farm owned by Nate Peitso. I think everyone should be aware that they do not grow approximately 90% of their produce. They purchase it in bulk from Kenter Canyon Farms who supplies both Whole Foods and Bristol Farms. Do yourself a favor and purchase the same product for less at those stores or purchase from a more reliable vendor at the farmer's market. read more

Honestly felt discriminated against. I'm a member of EBT snap and went to this market due to the fact they accept EBT. I was looking for the info booth and didn't see one set up so I asked a vendor for the market manager. She directed me to James (I believe that was his name) I went up to "The Market Manager" who was having a personal conversation about architects he was looking to use or is using on some project. (Mind you he was not busy doing anything for the market) we asked where we can use EBT and his response was we aren't doing that due to not having enough staff. I could understand where he is coming from if he was occupied doing "market tasks" but he was having personal conversations with what seamed to be his friend. More so I feel bad for the farmers at this market as they are missing out on a lot of funds by the "market manager" not wanting to put in the effort. After pushing him on why they aren't accepting it his response was "I don't want to deal with all that back and forth" If your an EBT card holder beware of this market. And if your a farmer at this market I'm sorry I wasn't able to support you today due to your "market manager" overall being lazy. read more

Continues to be one of my favorite farmer's market in SoCal. While small in size (compared to others like Pasadena and Santa Monica), it still has everything I need and more--Harry's Berries, organic produce, fish truck, fresh hummus, flowers. The vendors are super nice and helpful. The patrons are friendly and respectful, especially with the covid social distancing practices. Everything is beautifully spaced out to allow for people to walk and not be worried about being too close to others walking the other direction. Overall, love this farmers market and the freshness of the products they sell. read more

COVID-19 has hurt these markets, but to their credit they have remained open and have done an admirable job of social distancing, mask-wearing and other CDC provisions. The amount of vendors has decreased and the Venice Neighborhood Council no longer has an active booth which was discontinued when the pandemic started some two years ago. The market has an active and fairly loyal customer base of regulars and those who live in walking or biking distance as well as a good number of those who drive as well. The market is well organized in terms of selection and from time to time a homeless issue may arise, but for the most part you are safe and secure from any homeless related incidents. Because of COVID I have intentionally stayed away for several months, but with things possibly re-opening, I could return as I do love the fresh juices, cheeses and other stellar items offered. If you would like to meet your neighbors and friends in a casual shopping atmosphere, the Venice Farmer's Market on Friday's makes sense. RECOMMEND read more

Venice farmers market is pretty good and has a pretty decent selection of stuff even in Covid-times. It's open 7-11am on Fridays and you can either walk or drive (there is a parking lot connected to the area). Only real downside and shame is a lot of vagrants camping just feet away from where food is being sold. read more

DISCRIMINATION AND HARASSMENT! Would give a zero if I could. The manager, James Murez, harassed and discriminated me for having my legal service animal. He told me no dogs were allowed, I told him he is a service animal, he asked me what for, I let him know that is completely illegal and intrusive to ask & I will go get his paperwork. So I walked back to my car, got my paper and showed him. He refused to care, followed me around the market, video recording me and telling every single vendor that they could not sell to me. I have been to the market before a handful of times over the past year or so and have never had this happen and I always have my service animal. I also let him know that not all disabilities are physical and physically visible to the naked eye. I am protected by the Americans disability act and this was blatant discrimination and harassment. I have filed a complaint to the city and will contact a lawyer. read more

I used to love this Farmers Market when I liven in Venice BK (before kids). Went back last Friday to see it basically hasn't changed. Good market for actually selling things Farmers grow versus the tendancy of prepared foods at many poser markets of late. Only about 2 dozen venders, but they have it all covered including mushrooms, live plant guy, bakeries, flowers and a coffee cart. This place is crawling with hipsters and their kids. This is a nice small farmer's market. It's open from 7 to 11 am on Fridays. There is easy parking on the street or in the connecting lot (enter on Dell Ave). As far as stands go, there was a variety of produce stands, a coffee truck, seafood, Greek food, Korean food, candies, and a few other stands. This is a great place to pick up produce and snacks for the weekend. I was able to find produce that was cheaper than the grocery store, so that was a plus! read more

Great neighborhood market. Wonderful vendor choices, friendly vendors. The manager is an ass. That turned dark quickly didn't it?? I travel with the service animal. I've been to the market 10 times. One time I didn't see him the entire time I was there all 10 minutes of it. Every other time I have been asked about my animal. I have been threatened. Today is the last straw. Once again accosted, this man is extremely triggering. today he threatened that my animal would be confiscated and that I would get 16 months in jail. I have PTSD. Put yourself in my shoes. and try to forget the conversation that happened a few hours ago that shook me to my core. Am I the only one who has a problem is this man? man aggressively walk up to a woman and her dog and threatens her has no place working at a friendly neighborhood market. This farmer's market has changed my life. Every single stall is great - it's manageable, friendly, all-purpose, delightful. The potato guy has changed my relationship to potatoes. There is a guy selling $1 seedlings that cost like $5 at Home Depot. It's basically all good. The best strawberries are there. The Maggie's Farm greens people. The guy selling Korean food. Chocolate, quiches, mushrooms, $5 blueberries. Everybody in Venice makes there way there, it's lots of local folks and friendly faces. What else do you want? The only drawback is the kids play area, which apparently is homeless city and pretty filthy. But hey, that's what wet wipes are for, right? read more

If this is the most convenient farmers market for you, go for it. Otherwise, you aren't missing much. About a dozen vendors set up in a school parking lot and sell--for the most part--non-organic, but pesticide free produce at prices comparable to whole foods. Feels good to buy straight from farmers and support local growers and all that, but nothing to really write home about. Some examples: Black kale: $1.50 here, $2.50 at whole foods Dozen organic, cage-free eggs: $5 here, $4.50 whole foods Avacados: $0.75-$1.50 here, $1.50ish whole foods Bunch of thyme: $1.50 here, $2ish whole foods So if it's on your way to work, stop by, meet some neighbors, buy some kale. But if it's a trek, no need for FOMO. read more

A great reason to get out of bed early on Friday morning! This used to be a weekly ritual for me. Every Friday I'd bring my eco-friendly shopping bags and stroll on down to the market, where I'd pick out the veggie sides for a few dinners, grab 3 bags of flavored nuts, some mixed berries, and maybe a few other fruits. Then I'd grab some fresh flowers for the girlfriend and be on my way home for some nut-and-berry-fueled nookie. I've since replaced the girlfriend with a job, so my Fridays have been a little too busy/lazy to get there before work. As such, I've just been sending an intern in my place to buy berries and nuts for the office. For such a small farmer's market, they do have a great array of stalls with all sorts of goodies. The people are great too. Both the vendors and the kooky Venetians that frequent this market are a wonderful source of conversation. I see the same faces every time I go, and have made a few friends and run into several neighbors. There's no ATM on site, but there's a shop with one kitty-corner across S. I like this market more then Santa Monica or Hollywood. Every stall is great and it's very neighborhoody which is what I like. In fact, I fly into Venice on Thursdays JUST so I can hit the Friday market. I used to take the Friday flight but I enjoy the market too much. I like that the Venice Neighborhood Association is always set up and they are always pushing some issue or another. I never get involved but I love to hear the passion of the volunteers trying to convence me to allow overnight parking so more people can have one night stands and how the zoning should not be changed to allow development. It's super local and super quirky. As always with any farmers market the earlier the better. The booths not to miss are: 1) The mushroom lady because she can go on for days about mushrooms. 2) The chocolate lady because just like the mushroom lady she loves her chocolate. 3) the mediterranean booth because one of the men there is so nice to look at. 4) The herb and greens booth because it feels so farmers markety and their prices are unbeatable. $1 for fresh herbs. read more

What a perfect fall morning! Well, as fall as it gets here in Southern California, but the sycamores lining Venice Blvd are losing their leaves and that beautiful autumn light added a golden glow to already perfect produce. Yes, this is a small market but it feels like 'neighborhood' if such a feeling can be named. I got up earlier than usual because this is an early morning market (7-11am) unlike the others that go until 1 or 2 in the afternoon. They had everything you would need according to the season, plus Lily's Eggs, honey, chicken, a coffee cart, cheese, dried beans, golden raspberries, and little tiny eggplants. I know this market is not as grand as the Hollywood one, but I give it 5 stars simply for the wonderful feeling that surrounded me as I perused the farmers' stands. I have every hope that the changes in season will not diminish this Venice treasure. read more

The kimchi stand is good but pricey. Overall, a great way to start Friday mornings. For the record, my review is extremely biased since I live across the street and can wander over in my pajamas. When my friends ask why I live on the west side of LA, I say, "besides it's 75 and sunny every day, people are relaxed and friendly, there are great restaurants, and I wake up every friday morning and there's a lovely little carnival of local goodies across the street from my house?" So here's the breakdown: get there early (it starts swarming around 9-10), the coffee stand makes a decent latte to wander the booths with. This is what a farmers market is to Mee... Familiar faces, friendly smiles and an easy going pace. The stalls of fresh veggies and fruit, baked goods and meats, and flowers and plants are all laid out with enough room so that your not crowded and reaching over or around your neighbor. There are plenty of choices and enough of everything to fill your cupboards and fridge until next Friday but the smiling and informative merchants are only there on from 7am - 11am so you better hurry! ***Faves & Must Have's*** Spicy chopped veggies from the Kimchi booth (keeps sickness away) $1 shots of wheatgrass....whooohooo! read more

A sweet little farmer's market from 7 to 11 am every Friday across from the library, this is a scaled down version of the Sunday market in Santa Monica where you can still get all your staples (local fruit, veg, eggs, cheese, MSG-free kimchee, and other sundries). My first time here, I'll definitely be back. My highlights: -delicious local goat cheese only lightly pasteurized by a 5th generation goat farmer and vet with very happy goats (every goat has a name!) -basil! I couldn't find any at the Sunday market but was happy to find it here for $2 a bunch -the cheapest cherimoya I've ever seen ($1.50/Ib for the small ones!! if you know where to get it cheaper, please message me!) -delicious grapefruits and I'm sure there's more but that's my little whirlwind tour ftm.... stay tuned! ~:) read more

I will literally drive the extra mile to go here on a Friday morning... it's small (a lot smaller than the one in Hollywood where I usually go) but it's cozy, the people are friendly and this is truly a little community market... familair faces, neigbors enjoying a chat while sipping their latte... love it. and what a bliss... it starts from 7AM and ends at 11AM, so I can be early and still have the rest of the day left to enjoy.... Just wonderful! It's easy to get to a place like LA and want to do a lot of touristy things. "Let's go to Disneyland! Universal Studios! Let's see what downtown is like!" No offense to the aforementioned, but I like character. And this place was full of it. You'll find just about anything you would want from a farmer's market, and more! Not only in terms of produce, but also just general entertainment. It also looks like a great place for the family and kids. It has animal rides! REAL AMINALS! Yes, "AMINALS!", not animals. I enjoyed a nice panini and coconut water (no not in one). You can also have your coconut cracked and then eat the inside, which reminds me of my childhood for some reason--miss those easy days. If you're looking for fresh stuff without the crowd and the mayhem, then come here on friday morning. easy in and out for those who still need to get to work. no crowds - so it's easy to browse and pay without pressure. also, i think that the produce here is fresher - as these stands circulate through the santa monica circuit during the weekend. you can get flowers, eggs, mushrooms, bread, cheese/butter, juice, seafood, veggies, citrus, apples, asian veggies....quickly and easily. love it! parking is pretty easy on the street. read more

Have lived on the west side forever and had never made it to this particular farmers market. Probably due to it's early hours of 7-11am. I normally hit the markets around 11, but I made it out last week. It was small but provided everything I needed, plus found some vegetable plants for $1.50, what a deal. Some really nice strains, you don't normally find in the Home Depots, etc. Great produce, fresh bread, flowers and nice people. Thought parking would be a nightmare as well, but found easy street parking quickly and close. Will be back! read more

I'm obviously biased because I lived right next to this weekly market for over eight years, so it was my regular place to shop. Unlike many farmers markets in LA, this one really does focus on farm-grown stuff without as much of the prepared food you often see at some of the bigger ones. The selection is good and of course very seasonal. Some vendors are only here part of the year as appropriate to what they're selling. You will usually find a good selection of fruits and veggies, a mobile espresso/coffee stand, and a very small section with baked goods and other prepared foods. There is parking available in a section of the lot behind the market: you have to go around the block to get there. Most people seem to be from the neighborhood and just walk over. The timing of 7-11am on Friday mornings really does tend to keep it from being a zoo. It starts early enough for those of us who work to get over there before heading out, and goes just late enough that moms with young kids can come by a bit later. Prices vary from very reasonable to quite expensive, depending on the item. Strawberries from Harry's Berries (when in season) are insanely expensive but also insanely good... I miss being able to roll out of bed and (almost) straight into the market. read more

If one were to rate the Venice Market in terms of how well it lives up to farmer's market ideals, it would be an easy 5/5: a sign at the entrance proudly boasts it as a waste-free zone, with everything available for purchase therein being either compostable or recylable. Also, there is a plethora of bike parking available. Contrarily, if one were to pay closer attention to the produce- or lack thereof- this market rates about 3/5 at best. As we spring into fall (personally, I'm not springing, but L.A. inhabitants are busting out the sweaters and jeans as if it's going to get cold any minute), hard squashes tend to take over the veggie selection. From kabocha to butternut to every size/shape of pumpkin possible, the Hollywood Market on Sunday (aka the happiest place on Earth, people are wrong about Disney (or so I assume based on having never been there)) is of late abounding with delectable winter squash options. However... the Venice Market did not have a single one of any sort. Like, seriously, pumpkin, there wasn't a damn pumpkin here! There were also no green figs, and since figs are nearing the end of their season (every week the farmers at Hollywood and La Cienega Markets tell me maybe one more week, which I think they are doing just so I keep buying them as if they'll be gone any day now), one week lost could mean my obsession dies one week sooner than necessary, and I walked away a couple Sundays ago figless, squashless and disappointed. I was also disappointed by the ratio of non-organic choices to organic ones. (Hollywood and Pacific Palisades so far have the lead on organics.) So, props to Venice Market for being a hippie haven; more markets should focus on the waste-free concept, it's a beautiful idea. But is it really more important to have such a selection of pancakes and t-shirts than seasonal produce? When I see a field of pancakes, I'll stop expecting farmers markets to focus so heavily on fresh produce, but until then, it's gonna drive me up a tree when I walk away without the food I want b/c so much space was dedicated to non-farmed items. read more

My local farmers' market just keeps getting better! Harry's Berries are being sold at the Venice farmers market this spring! I love the juicy sweet fresh strawberries, but that is not all Harry's sells. If you are a pickle fan at all, do try the dill pickled green beans!! I bought them today after having some pickled green beans in Key West last month and these are tangy and tart and just a little bit spicy. They are sealed in a bell jar and include garlic cloves, red peppers and a couple of pickle spears as well. Absolutely delicious. read more

I love this farmer's market, but you have to get up early, since it closes at 11:00. It's smaller than either of the Santa Monica markets but bigger than Marina del Rey's. My favorite is the cow/goat cheese that doesn't have to be refrigerated. Lots of produce (seems like some is less expensive here) including a whole stand with nothing but mushrooms. There's a coffee truck and a bakery, but not too much in the way of prepared food. The focus is on the farmers. read more
