There is a nice vibe here. Located right on Washington Blvd, not far from the Venice pier, it's dog friendly, chill and friendly. Everyone here was nice and accommodating. Everything was timely, from seating, to ordering to drink and meal delivery. The Peachie Spritz is delicious and not too sweet. The Barbacoa Hash short rib may be my favorite on the menu. The meat is tender and juicy with the bowl topped with an egg. I also had the Churro Waffle that I had planned to save at least half for later. I felt bad for eating the entire freakin' thing but it coudn't be helped. It's so good.

Yummy summer pizza. The cherry tomatoes and squash blossoms are a perfect welcome to spring. The cheese did end up hurting my stomach. Worth it.

The food was excellent but very pricey. I really enjoyed the Squash blossom pizza and Caesar salad. The pizza was unique and had a good amount of creamy burrata. I enjoyed the dough as well. Salads often don't have enough dressing for me, but this one was dressed well and had a lemony hint to it. I really enjoyed it. Overall a 5 star for outstanding food but definitely more on the expensive side for a to go meal which knocks it to a 4 for me. Service was friendly and quick. There are 2 very small tables, a few bar stools at the window, and bench outside to sit on.

Great slice! Spicy, hot, and filling! What a gem, you wont be disappointed. Its a take out w some seating outside. Fast service taking your order also.

GTA is the restaurant connected to Gjelina where you don't have to wait for a seat since it's only takeaway. Theres some standing tables for you to eat real quickly if you're in a pinch, but like almost everything on Abbot Kinney you are going to be paying a premium just due to the location. I got the tuna melt sandwich and it was okay. Good thing they take InKind so it was not as pricey. Also they have the larger menu in paper form which may be better. They have a smaller menu written on the wall and it makes it seem like that's all they serve so it's unclear

I always order the same tuna melt every time I come. It's a mayo-based tuna salad with capers on house baked bread with fontina and arugula. Surprisingly the sandwich holds well on my 30 min walk back to work. Can't speak for any of the pastries or pizzas but the humble tuna has not failed me yet.

Multiple trips to Abbot Kinney and I always saw people sitting outside GTA gobbling down beautiful slices of pizza that tortured me as I walked by. I finally found myself in Venice yesterday and needed to grab a quick bite. This could be in the top 1% of grab and go slice places. The cheese flavor alone--perfection. The sauce--a slight hint of sweetness and I'm pretty sure they must make their own sauce because I'd never tasted one quite like it! The crust--slightly chewy and with a little sponginess--amazing! The folks running the counter are outgoing and friendly would be an understatement. I was greeted as if I was a regular! Most likely will be now! Tip: if you're wondering what slices I had, they were the pepperoni and margherita--highly highly recommended!

I've been coming here for years whenever I'm in the Abbot Kinney area, and it never disappoints. Gjelina or Gjelina Take Away remain cornerstones of the Abbot Kinney food scene. Gjelina is my go-to for dinner with its amazing atmosphere, consistently delicious food, and attentive service, while GTA is perfect for a quick, casual, and equally tasty lunch. I've never had trouble finding street parking nearby, which makes the experience even better. A must-visit for anyone exploring Venice.

    Margherita Pizza (Delivery, 15 miles)

Just ordered delivery from Gjelina through Postmates and we're so happy we did. We ordered 2 Margherita Pizzas, 2 Spicy Pepperoni Pizzas and 2 Market side Caesar Salads. The lettuce was crisp and the toasted bread in the salad too. Gjelina's 15 miles away so we reheated the pizzas. The crust was sourdough like, crunchy and chewy. The sauce had the perfect amount of tanginess that complements the crust well. My mom is pretty picky about her pizza, but she said that this is the best pizza she's had in a long time. And for 4 people, the food was plenty. We have an entire box of pizza for a snack later. Parking is tricky here, especially if you're not from the area but the pizza is worth the drive! We're definitely coming back to try everything else on the menu.

Super cool spot on Abbot Kinney. We walked up to the counter and ordered an afternoon slice. I chose the Margherita pizza and added prosciutto. Took 5 min to get my slice. They have a larger menu besides pizza as well. Although I didn't try any, they had a wide selection of tasty drinks (think fun lemonades and coffees). I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

Small space for takeout of upscale Italian. We started a food tour here. There's limited seating inside. We got to try a small variety of items. Sampled the gruyere pizza with carmelized onions as well as the escarole pizza. Both pizzas were tasty. I was expecting more flavor on the gruyere to be honest - it was satisfying, but I didn't feel like the flavors stood out. The escarole was my favorite. The greens were really bright with a bit of crunch, and really delicious and well-cooked mushrooms and other veggies. We got a butternut squash dish with a creme topping and that was really lovely. Brussel sprouts were also well-roasted. The restaurant has a swanky sit-down side, but the takeaway is great for getting a bite to go. Loved learning about the history of the restaurant, and how it's an anchor that helped kickstart the revitalization of the area.

Not allowing additions? Understandable. MINOR deletions - stupid

While I am not at all vegan, it can be a fantastic change of pace when trying a cuisine that is not at all my regular routine. Happily, Variable has tons of choices, and we loved what we got. I was drawn towards the 'N Seoul Bowl' (Korean spicy plant based pork, house marinated Kimchi, organic edamame, steamed organic spinach, carrot, steamed broccoli, onion , organic shiitake, topped with green onion and sesame seeds and side organic quinoa). So good, a bit spicy, and so many flavors on the plate it was impossible to not only love it, but I could not finish it, either. That goes from all their dishes. They are big, and in our experience, it came out piping hot soon after ordering it. My companion tried the 'Indian Tikka Masala' (homemade Indian curry, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, yellow squash, potatoes, cabbage, chickpea, micro green, Served with blend wild Jasmin rice and Indian Flat Bread). Tastes so fresh, hearty, with just enough of a kick to it. I look forward to trying some of their other dishes, too. The burger that the table near us ordered looked fantastic. I gotta think that everything here is pretty dang great.

I was excited to see that this place had a biscuits and gravy and one with fried chicken bits nonetheless, but I guess they... lied? My biscuits and gravy came without fried chicken bits. Unless by "bits of fried chicken gravy" they meant fried chicken emulsified into a gravy- but I thought that "bits" implied that I would be receiving actual *bits* of fried chicken. The biscuits were nice and buttery enough but paired with the proteinless gravy, it kind of just tasted like butter overload. This place is also pretty inflexible. Wanted to replace my potatoes with turkey sausage, but it would've been an upcharge despite these two sides being of equal value a la carte on the menu. Alright. Then, I ordered a chocolate crepe, sat for a minute, and then changed my mind and wanted to switch to the cinnamon and sugar crepe. Problem is is that they only have one cashier at all times, and the bald cashier was pretty busy ranting about this serial grubhub scammer to his line of customers, so by the time I got to the front, the crepe had already been made; and they were unwilling to switch it for me at that point. Cool. The ambiance itself seemed nice-ish; they had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for the space and the indoor was nicely decorated, but the clientele that day made it a miserable dine-in experience (at least two screaming toddlers and a man who refused to hand over the bathroom key until I explained to him that if they gave the bathroom key to another customer, someone would walk in on me in the bathroom). So yeah. I think I won't come back.
