When we arrived, their ages were confirmed again, but despite that, the girls were separated and couldn't sit next to each other during the service, which was disappointing since the experience was supposed to be something special for them to do together. When it came time to pay, I was told one of the girls would be $35 and the other $65. When I asked why, I was told it was because my older daughter got gel polish. I clarified that she did not, and another staff member confirmed she hadn't. Despite that, I was told the price would still be $65 because she is "bigger." I have no issue paying more based on age if that's clearly communicated upfront, but this was not the case. When I questioned the pricing, a scene was made -- multiple employees came over, speaking to each other and to me, which made the situation uncomfortable and unnecessary. To make matters worse, less than an hour later, the polish on my oldest daughter's toes was already peeling off. Overall, the pricing felt inconsistent and poorly explained, the atmosphere became uncomfortable, and the experience did not match what was advertised or expected.

Instead of taking responsibility for the miscommunication, the staff repeatedly insisted that I had misunderstood, spoke to each other in another language while smirking and laughing, and made the situation uncomfortable and disrespectful. That behavior alone was enough for us to leave. Mocking or insulting customers in another language is immature and unacceptable. We wasted our time and left feeling disrespected. I will not support a business that changes prices after the fact and treats customers this way. To make matters worse, the salon had an overwhelming chemical odor that caused an immediate headache within the short time we were inside. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience and I would not recommend this establishment to anyone.

I couldn't decide which color I wanted but my tech was very patient and accommodating. I enjoyed the leg scrub which I think lasted long for a reg pedicure. I've been to places where it's like BIM BAM BOOM next, so I enjoyed that. They don't give complimentary neck massages or drinks like some places but that's ok. My nail tech Elaine was super sweet and we shared conversation here and there. She also was taking her time shaping them and looking for imperfections until she had to do another service and had someone else finish my top coat. I wished they were a little rounded more instead of flat but I love the color and noticed more once I left. It's not a big place but decent, clean and nice. My service cost me $85.

Details below First, about me: 1) My hair is straight and notably thick for fine hair. 2) This was my 1st time trying a salon that isn't like $65+/ women's cut. I have taken my probable bias into account while creating this review. I saw Niki (spelling = ?) for a women's haircut. I wanted to trim off several inches to armpit-ish length + soften the edges. Haircut was good. I must mention I witnessed the 2 present hairdressers complaining *in front of clients* about the lack of stylists in the area to hire, and they joked - for a duration that has me convinced it *totally wasn't* a joke - that they'd hire anyone who claims to be a hairstylist just as long as they knew basic color theory. Yikes. So obvs that's big turnoff to a new client + worth mentioning, but the experience was just unsatisfactory overall. Here's the deal. I've talked to so many bubbly hairdressers who are passionate about their work. And I get that a salon is like a family. That's great! But if I'm your family's dinner guest, I expect the host to introduce themself/-selves, maybe offer water/beverage, check in about water temperature, ask about myself, keep conversations with family co-hosts positive and professional, speak of your family to guests with dignity, and, idk, help me feel welcomed throughout? Cool. These expectations - though some were possibly too much - weren't met at Parkway Salon. Nor were some other basic things I'd expect- like an atmosphere where I'm comfortable speaking up or asking for clarification, for a heavy-handed hairdresser to look in my general direction while brushing, for hairdressers to be positive but maybe not carelessly dancing while snipping away, to be asked if I want a receipt, and maybe even to be asked if I want to schedule a next appointment.
