This is a dog friendly event and when a stranger approached my dog, said nothing to me, and started petting her, I asked them to please ask before touching my dog. While I was still within two feet of her, Dani started making fun of me and talking crap with someone who had approached her information booth. I told her I could hear her and she just looked startled and did not apologize. Despite giving her a chance to be professional, she chose to continue to make this an unwelcome place while standing in a professional booth. Poor judgement and disgusting behavior for a family event. Will be complaining to her employer.

They also have everything from scenic photography to metal sculptures, from pottery to hats, from oil paintings to hand-made soap. Shopping at the MAC gallery is the best way to shop local! Your purchase not only supports the local artists, but you also support the Mono Arts Council. I will definitely return next year and buy a couple pieces.

We had to request silverware from the busser after all the plates were left and continually got up to refill our own water. The server's attitude disengaged and clueless. We had to flag him down to order another round of drinks because he never checked on us. No boxes were offered to take food home, which was a shame, it was all pretty good. It took so long to get the check, again, another person had to be asked while our server was just hanging out in the kitchen He had no idea how to operate the handheld POS device. When it was pointed out he didn't remove items we didn't order, he did but then left us with a blank screen. Finally, one of us walked to the bar to ask to pay and told the bartender the server didn't know what he was doing. Her response was "it's only his second shift." I mean, ok, if he'd let us know that and apologized for lapses we would have been understanding- or if he'd had an experienced server training him he wouldn't have been the weeds - but even calling it the weeds is generous because it wasnt busy. We said, "ok, it's his second shift but you should know he's doing a terrible job" - as was evidenced by the tables around us who were similarly struggling to order and get their bills. The bartender's response was to shrug, roll her eyes and say "he's trying" while she walked away. If you're charging $30+ for entrees, and people are paying $15+ per drink, we expect more than trying. Oof, if you're treating locals like this, it's gonna be a long shoulder season.

The staff there was super friendly and explained how the bear might look brown but it actually is a black bear. There's no more grizzly bears left in California because we killed them all. The only one left is the one on our flag. This bear has brown fur because it was killed young by a vehicle that hit it. It appears some black bears come in brown or don't turn black until they're more mature. It was tragic yet interesting to hear about. It was a great way to bring awareness to being aware of wildlife when driving. You can also touch the real skulls, claws, scat replicas and paw replicas. The fox skin was the softest. It's super interactive and a very fun reward for reaching the summit. You can reach it by taking the gondola. If you have a mammoth ski lift pass, then this attraction is included in the pass. If not, then I think the gondola is $50 or something which is crazy expensive so might as well go skiing while you're at it. I wish my group had stayed longer for me to interact with everything more.

Great educational stop at the top of Mammoth with friendly staff. They recently upgraded and…read moreinstalled a bunch of interactive exhibits. Really enjoyed watching Mammoth Dreams. Will have to check out the other history lessons as well. They have sight pipes to all the local spots so you can get yourself oriented. And a hands on exhibit of the local animals that allows you to feel the pelts. But my favorite is the interactive computer screens that tell you about the local history, the mining, the hiking, the wildflowers, and I few I have yet to discover. If you don't stop here when you are at the top, you are missing out on something special.

It is not a traditional gallery but more of a Community center…read more I was greeted by the president, Scott on my way in and it was nice enough to introduce himself. The concept he explained to me is the following. Think of it as a gym membership but for art. You pay a monthly fee, come up with what you want to learn and bring your materials. There are great teachers to guide you and certify you at just about anything. They have a glass blowing, clay, woodwork and even a 3D printer. It was impressive that everyone we met there somehow chips in to help with the training of your art production of choice and once you are certified, you are able to use the machines with minimal supervision. A stellar idea and my wife will be checking out their classes soon
