Update: Instead of trying to resolve my concerns after reading my review, they sent me the below email. Ironically, they were quick to respond to this but not my texts or emails. Don't question them about the services you didn't receive or the productivity of the technicians, because this is what they will do to you too. The best part is that they were supposed to "clean" my pool tomorrow...Classy move! I don't know where all of these good reviews are coming from, but Venture Pools is literally the worst company I've ever worked with since the pool was installed in December 2020. First, we chose tile for the pool. When the pool was dug, the wrong tile was installed, but we chose to accept the tile that was installed because it was what we had originally picked before we changed our mind. Plus, Herman was adamant that he installed the right tile, so I didn't want to argue with him. Then, when our pool was installed, the installers poured plaster down our sewer line. While Venture did reimburse our builder for the two times that the sewer line had to be dug up and replaced, the fact that installers poured plaster down the sewer line in the first place is disturbing. In April 2022, we had an issue with the pool light tripping the GFCI last year because water was getting into the switch. After two calls Venture finally addressed the issue and sealed the switch better. At the same time, the pool light stopped working and so it was replaced at no cost because it was under warranty. Also, in April 2022, when Jeremy replaced the light, I also told him about a cracked tile on the coping and missing grout on one of the tiles. He took pictures of the tile and grout and told me he would provide them to Herman. I never heard anything further on this issue and; frankly, I was already sick of dealing with Herman and Venture, so I just let it go. In the meantime, we had been using Venture to take care of the weekly pool maintenance. At first, the service was pretty good, but by May/June of 2022, the service level dropped significantly. The sides of the pool had yellow mold or something growing all over it. I notified Venture of the issue, but the issue persisted, so I started checking the chemicals and found that the pool had zero chlorine in it the day after they supposedly added chlorine on several occasions. I've since stopped using Venture for pool service and take care of it myself which has been much better than Venture doing it. In March 2023, the pool light stopped working again. The guy from Venture stated that the light needed to be replaced again (less than one year). On 03/31 I received a text from Herman asking for a picture of the cracked coping. I responded with a picture the same day and heard nothing back from Herman. On 04/11, I texted Herman for a status update on the light and coping. No response. I called Venture around 1:30 pm on 04/12 and had to leave a general voice mail because no one answered the call. I never received a response from my voice mail, so on 04/13, I called again and was told Monica would call me back. Monica never called. This morning, I called about the light and coping again and was again told that they would have someone call me back. When I responded that I had not had any call backs from previous messages or texts, I was finally able to speak with Monica (she stated that she had not gotten any messages from the office. When I insisted on a date for the repair that the coping would be fixed next Tuesday (I have my doubts). Right after I spoke to Monica, Brittany called me back about the light and acted surprised that I had not been contacted by the supplier and stated she had sent them an email and copied me. I was copied on the email and assume I'll hear from Hayward soon. Brittany indicated it should not take this long for the light to be replaced, but it has. All in all, this is a terrible company from start to finish. Bad installation, bad follow through, bad communication, bad company. Our 3-year warranty will be out in December so hopefully, I will never have to deal with Herman or Venture again. Fingers crossed that the light does not go out again as we've had to replace it twice in a year. read more

Company came out and was knowledgeable but did not like being shopped and compared to other pool builders. The owner, Herman, thinks you owe him something to attempt to work with him. Tons of pool companies and no need to try to work with arrogant ones that it is like pulling teeth to get comparative bids. Stay way and do not waste your time. read more

Venture Pool Company use to be great but, I can't get anyone to call me back in regards to the lack of service/cleaning that's happening weekly on my cocktail size swimming pool...that is $50 a week!! The owner use to be very involved and responsive...now...nothing. Very upsetting. read more

These guys used to be very good. But for the past year they have been unreliable, unresponsive to emails, phone calls and just been a disaster. They also replastered my pool a couple years ago and I have issues to this day. And they don't respond. They have done good work for me in the past but now they are an organizational disaster. Takes them months to do anything. I waited months for them to fix my Polaris and to install a new pool light. read more

This is a great family-owned pool company. Everybody in the office works very hard and throughout the pandemic they were responsive and helped me out when I had some mechanical failures. we use these guys monthly and I can't tell you how much it helps to have an expert who's always there on a Friday to clean the pool and get it ready for the weekend. read more

Due to lack of pool parts availability, I waited a month or so for the pool part to become available- that was understandable bc I heard that from other pool companies. However, after calling repeatedly to schedule the part install and then deep pool cleaning, was told they'd show up early in the week, so I left my gate open so they could get in. After they didn't show by that Wednesday, I locked my back gate, only to be called on Thursday that they were outside, and because my gate was closed, I'd have to call again to reschedule (even though they never gave me the heads up before Thursday that they'd be showing up then). So I called, was told it got rescheduled for the following Friday- NO SHOW. Gave them grace only because I'd already waited a month for the pool part, so called again. I was told to check my email for the new date. No new date emailed that whole week. So I called again. It got rescheduled for this past Wednesday and I even got my mom to wait for them at my house. NO SHOW. AGAIN... after calling just to speak to manager to share my thoughts on their unprofessionalism, I was told their service tech even put a note in their system that my gate was locked... even though I know it wasn't and my mom confirmed that no one even showed up. And I have the Ring so it notifies me is anyone rang the bell- they didn't. This is not a company that believes in having the common courtesy to let the client know that they don't have the capacity to take on more projects nor are they organized enough to communicate about delays or no shows. read more

Let me first start by saying I've met both owners (& brothers), Andrew & JR; I like both these guys, they seem really nice. I rent a home with a pool, where the owner pays for pool service. JR provided our initial service, and got the pool looking good. He said our regular tech "Austin" would be the one to take care of us from that point on. Austin only came out for one service, and I never saw him again. JR came back and did two more services. The next week no one showed on the scheduled day (Wednesday), but then my wife heard a knock at the door early on Saturday morning (it was JR); before she could get day clothes on and open the door, the person had left, but JR had left a door hanger, saying that he had been there to service the pool *(All three people that we dealt with at Venture were good, and consistent about leaving door hangers, stating what services they had performed, and leaving other notes), what was odd was that this time JR did not send me a text or call me to say he was coming-out, which was our agreement; they would always send me a text, or call me to say they were on their way, and I would ensure that the gate was unlocked. But, since JR did not contact me, the gate was locked, and he couldn't get in to the back yard. On the following Monday, I sent JR a text that said that he could come back at any time, just please notify me before you come out. I received no response. I believe it was the following week that I received a text from Andrew, asking if he could come-out and service, I happily responded "yes", and ensured the gate was unlocked for him. He showed-up shortly after, with another guy, who I was never introduced to, but assumed that he was our new "pool guy". As always, with every time they come to the house, Andrew left a door hanger, outlining what service they had provided. That was about 4 weeks ago, and that's the last that I heard from them. I notified the home owner who called Venture and spoke with them *(here's where I found-out that even seemingly nice guys can be passively not so nice, and have a very loose relationship with the truth): The home owner was told that they have been sending me text messages to come-out, but I just wouldn't respond to them, AND they had been out to service the pool "X" number of times, and the gate is ALWAYS locked. How do I know they were lying? 1) Since Andrew had been out the last time, the post that the slide-lock goes into, has shifted, and we have no longer been able to lock the gate at all. 2) If they had shown-up at other times, why didn't we have any other door-hangers, saying they had been there? 3) When the owner is paying for the pool service, why would I not want them to come-out as often as possible? 4) If they had sent me text messages, and not received any responses, in what universe do you, as a mature, responsible company owner not then CALL THE CUSTOMER??? Last week I sent a text message to Andrew AND JR asking them if they were just not able to provide service anymore... I have not received one response; they have flat-out abandoned their customer. read more
