One of my very favorite things to do is to try to check out music stores when I travel. The vast…read moremajority of the time I'm disappointed, usually by a lack of selection, since I'm mostly hunting for CDs, but every once in a while, I'll hit a gem like this place. It was a sincere nostalgia hit seeing the Yamaha, Sherwood, and Denon stuff that was current in the 80s and 90s, back when High Fidelity magazine still existed and people cared about sound quality (keep on coming back, vinyl!) and it was honestly kind of one of the highlights of my trip. I strongly debated buying a bunch and packing it back with me, but perhaps another time. There is a ton of vinyl here, naturally, and an ok selection of CDs...but, here's the thing with those. Me sliding a CD off your shelf is not worth the $6 - $7 more, per CD, than buying it online, I'm very sorry to say. This was the only store that had a few of the titles on my hit list and I would have bought a few if they were but closer, but 150% of the sales price online is too bitter a pill to swallow for me. Aside from that, this is not quite the only spot in town to get music things, but is definitely the best.

Great selection; I spotted a couple of records that I don't find often. And they have cassette tapes! I am very much of the cassette tape generation and I can confirm that those janky little rectangles don't have the same nostalgia appeal as big, pretty disks, but it's cool that they are offered! If you are just interested in checking out a record store I think you'll be satisfied here. But I like coffee shops and I loved my coffee and my breakfast sandwich. I got the Caramel Creme Brulee latte which was delicious. They even singe the top like a real creme brulee! It sounds like it will be too sweet but it isn't; great flavor balance with the coffee flavor not being overtaken. They sell a variety of beans as well. There is a nice sidewalk patio area, and it's a comfortable, chill hangout spot in this lively urban neighborhood. I like it very much here!

What a wonderful find! I heard about Limbo Records and Rarities in a story about the Lake Pepin…read morearea and couldn't wait to visit! Limbo is a little hard to find but it is worth the search. If you are heading south through Stockholm, turn right at the big park on the river and--just before the train tracks, look down and to your left and you'll see it. The owner is friendly and helpful and the variety and condition of the records is outstanding. I found one of my favorite albums of all time (Music From Big Pink by The Band, original issue) for what I call The Nice Price. I also purchased albums by Lenny Cohen, the Scorpions, Sinatra, and a rarely seen disc by Alexander O'Neal (!). I will note, I saw Joy Division, Accept, Coltrane, Woody Guthrie, and much, much more. You'll pay for the exceptional find, but you'll pay a more than fair price and small store owners deserve to make a living--so support them! Albums are originals, not reissues and are almost uniformally in excellent condition. This store is moving to a bigger location in Maiden Rock, which will enable the owner to display even more albums!

This is still such a wonderful place with a great selection of music and so many cool retail items at a great value. Expertly curated and displayed. Still, my most favorite record store I've ever been to anywhere! Moved to California 30+ years ago and every time I'm in town I gotta take a peek and do that whole nostalgia trip in my head-if only the walls could talk, OH MY! I love the creaking floors as you walk across the showroom remembering those sounds heard in the basement packing my own orders to ensure in stock items were shipped. The cast of characters that visited and cool musicians- one day Devo came popping through handing out 3-D buttons with those flower pot looking things on their heads and strange jumpsuits. "It's not too late To whip it Into shape Shape it up Get straight Go forward Move ahead" my daughter wore my old jacket from 1979 (in picture) . The nice staff were very friendly and enamored with the jacket and the manager took some pictures which gave my daughter a huge tickle. I think the cat's name is Bob Fuchs and he's been there since the late '80s and a good ambassador of the brand and so kind to indulge us. This is a must visit if you're ever in Minneapolis set aside some time it's worth every minute!

I spoke for quite a bit…read morewith the guy behind the counter as I made my purchase and we had a nice conversation about artist, albums, and just enjoying the social aspect of spinning vinyl. He told me he had been doing this for over 20 years. I actually really enjoyed him. They had decent prices on the merchandise and I was happy to snag a few to add to my growing collection.

The Music Space fills a void badly needed in Owatonna. It's a small record shop and live music…read morevenue. It's been open less than a year, but the rustic downtown location makes you feel like you've gone back in time 40 years. I had no idea exactly what or where it was. Then one day this summer I was walking out of a downtown bagel shop when I was drawn to the sound of great music filling the street from the next block down. It's got a very comfortable feel. At least in part because they have a couch! The couch sits behind a ew rows of chairs that all face a small stage at the back of the store. The owner's connections allow him to bring in a wide range of artists that wouldn't normally come to Owatonna to do an intimate show. A couple other locations have been used when a larger venue was need. Thursday nights are a sort of 'live mic' when anyone serious can perform for free This is a really cool place that's worth checking out.

I went home with a vintage heart locket that was worth the price and my new staple piece I wear every day! I usually find that vintage stores can really increase pricing just for the allure of vintage items but I found most things to be reasonably priced. They have such a wide variety of items that I could spend hours looking around. It's really a hidden gem. One thing to note is that there is a large collection of racist caricatures/black face dolls and figurines. It's pretty uncomfortable to look at. After another reviewer pointed it out, it reminded me to include that in my review. I don't think they should be included in the selection, regardless of its appeal for "collectors."

I had the day off and we decided to venture out looking for some Christmas gifts. Really cute place. Old and nostalgic and they carry a lot of things. There are about 18 different vendors. If you want Vinyl, this is the place to go. I am not a vinyl person, but our friend is and this trip out here was to him. Found some great albums and took a stroll down memory lane with a lot of the old items on display. The two women working there are lovely and so helpful. There is an entire room full of vinyl. I think it's called the fault and then there are also records through out. Great store and a great find!! Be sure to stop in.
