Verdun Windows / Gentek / Gestion Guitard, all under the same umbrella is absolutely great at accepting the contract for new installations. However, when it comes to after sales, Verdun windows will not address your concerns or needs. Being told that my files has been archived and they will not expend energy to retrieve it. I would NOT recommend Verdun....save yourself the frustration. There has to be better companies who actually believe their mission statement to provide exceptional service and after service to their customers. read more

I had almost all my windows replaced in my home (sales lady was clearly good at her job) well it wasn't a long wait for them to schedule me in but when they did come with the windows, 2 young (20 year olds) came to install them. $10,000 job relying on these 2 very nice men with next to no experience to look after the job. They installed the windows in 2 days. The last day they rushed and half fast did the job. Forgot to caulk around one window, dented the metal around the windows with their ladder and left the place in a mess. (They were nice though) when they left they forgot to give us the handles to open the windows. Ok this could be an honest mistake but when I reached out to the "good sales lady" she had no time for me whatsoever. I told her that I really needed the handles as it was summertime and if there was a fire I couldn't get out. It took 2 weeks before someone had time to drop them off. We then realized that one of the bedroom windows opened the wrong way. I called "the good sales lady " and again she's too busy. We also noticed 2 windows were scratched. They promptly put an order in to have them replaced and a month later they were replaced again. Only to find out that one of the new windows was scratched as well. After another month or so we had a new window installed and everything was basically done This took most of the summer and it's done and paid in full. The windows themselves are very cheap looking and even though we purchased the 3 pane windows we can still hear the cars drive by. It's done none the less. The only decent thing was the price and after looking at them, well you get what you pay for. read more

Spare your mental health and time and go with another company. Worst customer service I have experienced in my life. Once they have your money there is no attempt by them to support you and you are now in a 25 year relationship with this company so I pray there are no issues with warranty because that's going to be a night mare. Took 4 attempts to get a dent free door (plain white basic door) installed (2023-2025). They provide fake timeline updates not based in fact when there is nothing on file simply to appease customers. They can't meet their own self imposed timelines to call back. They can't problem solve and don't provide options available to them such as unwrapping the door before scheduling an installation. They drag you along thinking management might be able to support you all for nothing. This whole event has been an energy sucking, mentally draining project that don't wish on anyone. The install technicians are amazing and this review is not related to their technicians great work. read more

Do not ever sign with Verdun. Or if you do, ensure you have someone from quality who comes after. Company did not respect their contract and installed a smaller window than what I had signed for. All windows were poorly installed, and finition is awful, poorly done... and after 5 months of back and forth, they are coming back. Each call and each email took an hour of my time and I had to start over each time. Meanwhile, they installed doors. With no surprise, they screwed up and now have to come back... again. No acknowledgement of my complaints, no apologies. Total nightmare. read more

I ordered a patio door and window a year ago and was promised a December delivery. Twice this summer they came to install it, but both times there was a problem and now the door is damaged. Thus, I still have no patio door and managers are refusing to call me back and explain what they intend to do about supplying a door. The callus disregard for the customer is staggering. read more

Atrocious customer service, overpriced, and takes forever. Do not choose Verdun. In mid-June of 2022 we signed the contract to have all the windows in our house replaced (18 total). When we were speaking with the sales rep about approximately how long until installation, we were told "we're currently looking at Feb/March 2023". Despite that, even if everything went well (it did not, but I'm coming to that), we would still not have had all the windows installed until the end of July 2023 (two appointments in July to install 18 windows - 9/day). On the day of the first appointment I was informed by the installation team that one of the large windows had broken the night before, so they had brought a different window to install that day along with the others scheduled. I couldn't believe no one had bothered to inform us before that point, as we were expected to clear a workspace around each window prior to their arrival. The window they brought in lieu of the broken window was in the only room not scheduled that day, so naturally I had moved things in there to get them out of the way of the other windows. So at 7:30am, I had to try and quickly move all kinds of furniture, plants, and decor - as well as cover my aquarium, so the installers could install the window I had no idea was coming. It also happened to be located by my front garden, which of course got trampled because I hadn't had time to prepare it. When I called the Verdun office to ask why I wasn't informed of this change, I was given a simple apology, and told "someone must have forgotten". I was then assured that a replacement for the broken window would be put into the production line with a rush on it. By the second installation appointment (two weeks later) I still had no word about the replacement window, so that day went forward largely without note (there was a bit of spray foam that expanded and pushed out the caulk, a missing screen, and missing energy efficiency stickers - which I'm required to leave on the windows until my final energy audit which happens only after all windows are installed, so those have been fun to look at for the past 3+ months). On August 24th, six weeks after the original window was broken, I called Verdun to check on the replacement window, and much to my shock and frustration it had never been put back into production. Not until October 8th, three months after the window was supposed to have been installed, did I get a call to inform me that the window was finally ready. We schedule an appointment for October 27th with arrival between 8-12 to have the final window installed, as well as have the smaller issues fixed. I don't have the words to express how I felt when I was called at 3pm on Oct 26th (less than 24 hours before the job was FINALLY to be completed) and informed that they had scheduled only one person to install a window that is approximately 5.5 feet by 5.5 feet, so would have to reschedule again (now Nov 10). I have gotten nothing other than empty apologies, and a cold email expressing that: "Unfortunately, we do not compensate for something that we can repair or replace at our cost...After the installation we do require that final payment be made...". This may be a "local" company, and "custom made", but don't waste your time or money. If I had known what a headache this would be, I would have spent 1/3 less, and had my just-as-good-windows installed months ago. I've expressed my frustrations to several people in my life, and all of the ones who have had dealings with Verdun told me they experienced similar issues. The installation team was actually decent (despite a less than thorough clean up: I found over 25 nails/screws on the roof itself - no saying how many fell into the yard, as well as insulation, spray foam, and small to large pieces of old frames both inside and outside). We ordered a door in May/April 2021, and we were told it would be installed by September 2021. Here we are, 2022 tomorrow, and we don't even have an installation date. We have had to repeatedly prompt our contact at Verdun for any information. Communication has been horrendous. They will happily take your 50% deposit and then never perform the work. Horrible! The gentlemen that we dealt with was rude and arrogant when we didn't take his "upsale", and when he found out I(female) wasn't the one paying he was treating me like garbage. A total misogynist! The estimator took measurements that were off and the window was to small but the installer was able to add extra framing around to "make it work". Installer was good but I asked them multiple times to please close the door behind them so cats wouldn't run out, and they did not listen. Eventually had to put cats in the garage so they would not run out. I would never use Verdun again. I don't take kindly to misogynst men. read more

We order a double entry door for the front of our home, and a side door for our home over 6 months ago with a promise to have the install done late June early July. We were advised by Verdun today (August 17th) that they have not even begun to manufacture the doors, and are now and additional 4 weeks behind schedule, meaning we won't get our doors until at least October of this year. 8 months after putting a deposit down on the door. Don't believe this Company when they give you dates. They are operating right now with the 'COVID' attitude of taking as many orders as they can, taking as much deposit money as they can, with no intention of delivering your doors anytime soon. We went to Verdun thinking they were an honest and good Company. They are FAR from it. If you do decide to go with them, don't believe them in terms of delivery times or status. read more

Almost 2 years ago, I had my doors and window replaced by Verdun Windows and Doors. I was happy with them. Until I realized that I had had them for almost 1 year and despite them appearing locked, many of my windows (including on my ground floor) were not actually locking. For the past year, it has been total madness in getting them to fix the problem. They have been unable to fix some of the problems, despite visits from FIVE different people. Further, on their Feb. 28th visit, they BROKE a window pane and haven't yet fixed it (6 months later)!!! My advice: go with a different company. read more

I wanted to take a moment to express how utterly disappointed we have been with not only the install of our new patio door, but also the quality, and the service that has been provided to us. We placed our order in the summer of 2020 and our door was not installed until February 2021. During the installation our home was damaged. The install was done poorly with gaps and dents in the metal surround and the handle of our door is loose with no way to tighten without taking it apart. When Verdun was contacted they informed us that a service call would be placed and that our door would be fixed the next available service opening. We waited more than two weeks for our service appointment and given a 4 hour window for the appointment. 2 hours into this window of time we received a phone call informing us that our door required parts that were not available and that our door would not be fixed. We were told that we would be contacted for another service appointment. We have not been contacted in over two weeks. We have made attempts to open communication with Verdun to find a solution or at least find out when our door can be fixed. Verdun has not given us any indication that we will have our door fixed. At this point we would just appreciate to have a representative at Verdun respond with a solution to have our door serviced so that we can move forward and not need to deal with this company again in the future. read more

Excellent service both pre and post! Pre sales support is beyond comparison, no fuss and delivered with a personal touch because they truly care about their business and what they do. Having 75 windows in 100 yr old home and another 25 at our office building we did alot of research. After a lot of fast-talk, double-talk, and even back-handed talk, we were happy to discover Dominic at Verdun. Dom successfully put our nerves at ease by simplifying a complex, large investment and installing beautifully designed windows at both locations. Service was top notch!!! We ordered doors and windows when we constructed our house.Big mistake!The windows leak when it rains.The front bay windows are drafty.They advertise a decent warranty but try and get something repaired under 'warranty'. They have every excuse imaginable.The good reviews on the 'net must be posted by themselves.The doors are faded in sunlight.This outfit doesn't deserve even a single star.Remember that you get what you pay for.Stay away and avoid my big mistake.I'm surprised they haven't gone under.I guess they know how to fool people they are experts at this. read more

Business management and after sales services were disappointing. Installers failed to show up for the 2nd appointment without prior notice. Calls to the office made throughout the process provided conflicting information. Sales rep was also very slow with email responses. Nails and debris were found on the driveway. We recently had all the windows replaced after 40 years including two bay windows and patio doors. Verdun was the most competitive. We were sold on the fact that they are a local manufacturer and it's one stop shopping for install and 25 year warranty. They stand behind their product. The sales man was customer oriented and motivated to make the deal. We had one other opposing bid but went with Verdun due to the one stop shopping and competitive pricing. The installation was completely in 2 days with no damage to other parts of the house. The windows are gorgeous. The after sales service was very good. We needed a small adjustment to the outside screen patio door and this was taken care of without a hitch. The only recommendation I would make to Verdun is that the sales person makes a follow-up call after install to ensure that all went according to plan. I would also recommend a routine warranty follow up after install to ensure that the installers calibrated everything correctly and that the window operations are clearly understood. Otherwise, so far we are completely satisfied and would recommend Verdun. read more

I am extremely dissatisfied with Verdun Windows & Doors. I drove to the company site to look at their windows and made an appointment to have an estimate on how much it would cost to replace the windows and a patio door at my house. The day of the appointment, I had to call the person that was coming to measure my windows. He forgot about the appointment and was on his way to another client and the only reason he came to my house is because he was closer to my location. He finished measuring and gave me the estimate. He said to me "What do you want to do now" I've told him that I was looking for estimates and that I was going to discuss it with my husband. When my husband came home later that evening and we both looked at the estimate in more detail, we noticed that the estimate that we were given for the two bedroom windows was incorrect. We wanted one double hung window and we were quoted for two small double hung windows. Immediately we emailed the person that came to our house. Well it's been three months and I still haven't heard from them regarding the estimate. Well let me tell you I will NOT recommend this company to anyone. read more
