Maybe it's because you were close to it, or maybe because they had an item you couldn't wait two days for. But, when the store is out of the way, and difficult to get to, there needs to be more of a draw to pay the mark ups. And there are mark ups. About 20% more expensive than other places, and more than that if comparing online. But, the curation of the collection is what makes this place stand out. If you're looking for interesting gifts, or novelty items, there are a lot to be found here for all occasions, and you won't have to wade through a bunch of things that don't suit your needs. Everything is pretty great, and you will see things you didn't even know you wanted because you couldn't even imagine they were things to want. It's a lovely location, and worth the visit just to see what's in stock, if nothing else.

Upon stepping into the studio, we were greeted by the owner who was full of life and excitement to have us. The interior is what is the WOW factor of it all. It's funky, fun, colourful and filled with "paint by colour" canvases, walls and art! (They even have a boob wall - how fun!) You get to pick two items that the studio provides, like tote bags, tshirts or pencil cases to screen print your art on. However, you're able to bring in as many cloth items as you'd like to continue screen printing. You can also design your own design by hand or by sending your print to the owner in order to have it printed out on paper. From there, you do the screen printing process. I won't give it all away in case people want to have the experience and surprise for themselves. It was all so much fun and I loved walking away with all these different customized items I got to do. You're also able to buy your own screens after you finish the screen printing process. The owner was so great to walk us through the entire process and was such a fun, energetic person to be around. It was overall such a great experience and would do it again in the future! Definitely book in advance with friends/ family to do it as a group. We got lucky with our reservation so it felt like it was private screen printing experience made just for us! Loved it!

It's located inside the 401 Richmond building, which has mini art galleries inside, a cafe and a tiny music museum. This bookstore has a lot of books (not just design books), toys, stationary items and cute unique boutique-like items within the store.
