It was some unprecedented issue that Verizon customer service had done to all of my phone lines while we were managing a family emergency from five states away. The first gentlemen - a young, short, permanently- annoyed person - was very rude immediately upon entering the store. When I told him that our lines (two in NY and two in our home state) had all been stopped while on the phone with customer service, he literally said "What do you want ME to do about it? I mean, you're at the store, you know." Brad asked if we had restarted the phones, and as I was answering that we had done that multiple times, the first gentleman interrupted me to say, "Yeah, that's what I was trying to tell her." I confirmed with him that he hadn't, and he said I interrupted him when he was trying to help. I did get up and loudly request for alternative help, which Brad was happy to continue giving me, and this young man said, "Go one! Go over there! I am not going to have you disrespect me." Again, we were without use of our phones five states from home and in the middle of a major family emergency without knowing how to get anywhere we desperately needed to be. I do not like that I yelled for someone else to help, but there was only on disrespected person in that discussion. I then witnessed several other customers come in for help, and his perturbed, grumbling expression and manner remained for them as well. I would have asked for a manager then, but I overheard two incoming store phone calls while we were there where other employees confirmed there was no manager there that day (1/21/26). Verizon tech customer service and Brad were exceptional. But that young gentleman was horrific to encounter and then watch as he was rude and annoyed with everyone else who walked in. There is no way no one else has witnessed that if there is a manager there, and there is no way he should have a public-facing job without having constant oversight for actual training on how to behave respectfully.

This'll be quick…read more Three nights ago, while waiting for the first of my scheduled online meetings (for which I was going to be remunerated), my internet went out fewer than five minutes before my first meeting. When I called Spectrum*, I learned that my service had been disconnected because I was moving out of the area. #TalesFromTheOutback It took about an hour, but with the help of Specturm phone rep Ed, who took my initial call and researched the issue before transferring me to Alfred Camacho on Spectrum's sales team, my internet was back up and running. Mr. Camacho, who I spent nearly all of my phone time with, alerted his supervisor to the situation, and they brought in their tech "jedi" (as Mr. Camacho called him) to resolve the issue. I needed to give up my evening meetings without warning, but [insert your favorite Forrest Gump quote here]. According to Spectrum's documentation which was explained to me regarding this issue, my new roomie who moved in earlier this week, to whom I hadn't (and still haven't to this day) said one effing word, was able to get my service - which only has my name on it - disconnected through a combination of whatever Spectrum had on file as my address plus whatever smoke my new roomie blew up Spectrum's a--. #ALaPeanutButterSandwiches I hate giving Spectrum* two stars (I've been using them for all but one of the six years I've been living in NYS) but it's only because they don't have enough employees like Ed and Mr. Camacho servicing this particular area. What happened above was the second or third time a Spectrum employee's decision made my life come to an unexpected grinding halt, however temporary, since my first call to set up service in The Bing (So, I was going to write up one of these puppies a few days after scheduling my installation last May). Spectrum is an internet powerhouse, and anyone on their staff who doesn't want to represent them as such deserves the 23 skidoo. 'Nough said. Thanks again, Ed and Mr. Camacho. You really know how to put out a fire. I hope you're both considered for future roles working with Spectrum trainees. Doing your jobs with 5-star professionalism, you deserve the recognition. *There's a Spectrum in Vestal, and I wouldn't put it past all this happening out there, but it's just that I don't live out there, so...

Even after I could give all account information and tired explaining they cut me off whenever I tried talking telling me I should've thought about that before I called and my new identity is clearly not important since I didn't authorize that identity to receive information. Then told me they would flag my account if anyone with a "female" sounding voice called again and my service would be shut off and not eligible for turn on due to fraud. Bull shit company with even worse service.
