They need more people working. It is ridiculous having to wait for, at the VERY LEAST, a half an hour to get some help from someone. It is even more annoying when there seems to be at least two people who aren't even helping anyone. This is the ONLY Verizon store in this city and as such they should expect massive traffic and staff accordingly so customers are not waiting for a lifetime and a half to get help. What would also help is if their devices didn't nearly explode every time they are updated with THEIR update. Don't they test these things before they put them out? This is, of course, after some other issues I have with their store. For example, we came in to get my son a phone. They did not have the phone we wanted in stock in the store, so we had to order it. The guy said the phone would be there the next Tuesday. Wednesday came around and no phone. My husband checked the order and it hadn't even been shipped yet. We called the store and talked to the guy who helped us (again, after waiting nearly 45 minutes for help), and he told us that it was back ordered. Why the heck didn't he know that when we bought it. So, after waiting for nearly a week, we ended up having to buy a more expensive phone, which we didn't want to have to do. My family and I will be moving to Google for our carrier next year. Verizon still double charges you for smart phones. First they charge you for data and then they charge you a "line access fee" which is basically a smartphone fee. Google will be MUCH cheaper in the long run because they don't double charge you for smartphones. Verizon needs to update their billing because they are seriously ripping customers off. They think that changing the name of the fee to "line access fee" will make customers feel better. It just makes me feel cheated to be honest. I figured I was already paying a "line access fee" when I am paying over $100 for my plan. Clearly, paying over $100 for a plan doesn't give me access to my phone line at all. Instead they need to charge another $40 for that privilege. read more

While the representatives at this store were helpful and saw to it that my issue was eventually resolved, the experience as a whole was beyond frustrating. I was overcharged since signing up with Verizon in July of 2025 because a promo I was promised was not "attaching" properly to my account. In total, I spent over 8 hours of my time either on the phone with customer service or in-person to get this resolved, speaking with multiple agents. Each time I spoke with someone different through the corporate line, they assured me it would be corrected and reflect in 2-3 months. It was not until I went into the local store and had a rep assist me on the phone with customer service until it eventually got resolved. 11 months and 8 hours of my personal time!!! I reached back out to verizon to see what they may be able to do for me to accommodate the hassle- and they said they could not issue a promo or any sort of compensation. Once our contract is up- we are leaving Verizon. Ridiculous experience. Again, I applaud the local store for helping come to resolution- but the company as a whole has a lot of work to do to treat their customers right. read more

I needed to get help for my aging mom and Sarah and Mike at this Verizon store were IMMENSELY helpful on 6/28/2025. She needed a new phone, and a new number, AND I needed to be able to monitor her activity. These two spent over 3 1/2 HOURS with us making sure we got the best deal, and most hassle-free options. This was not an easy decision to have to make for my mom and me and they helped her maintain her dignity, answered all of our questions with the most patience, and were friendly and compassionate the entire time. Went into the store to ask a question regarding international calling. I couldn't find the answer on the Verizon website regarding the cost making calls from a country outside the USA to the USA. The individual only knew that Canada and Mexico were included in my plan. He did not know about other countries or know how to look it up. He told me to call their international team. When I switched to Verizon I found a phone in their store for $350 I paid it in full in the store a few years later and I find out phone payments have been added to my bill and I've been paying off an $800 phone I called and asked what was going on and they said it was $800 and that it was a promotion and that I never paid for the phone. If I could do zero stars I would. I had an online order which Verizon told me to come and pick up. I get to the store and "manager" Sarah was the rudest customer service employee that I have ever encountered. I told what I was there for and she immediately balled her face up saying we don't have an order for you. Then she said it's still pending. So I sat and I waited as she waited on other customers which is fine. I sat there and watched her tell her staff to turn customers away because they were closing soon. At one point she looked over at me and with a smug look on her face but said nothing. She stopped helping a customer to go lock the doors. She was more concerned about it being close to closing time than anything else. She never offered to see what the problem could be with my order because that would have been one more customer that she had do help. She came over to me and said it's still pending and we're closed so you can come back tomorrow. When I informed her Verizon that had said to come there and that I'd call them. She then said "I am Verizon " I ensured her that I'd be calling Verizon to discuss her and her lack of professionalism and that someone in management should not behave that way. You can't say you're in customer service and not want to or not like to service customers. She gestured that she didn't care. And then I left. It seems as though that whole staff has been turned over. And she is both the right person to be in leadership. Sarah did not even care enough about this customer to look into anything. I won't be doing business at this location again id rather speak to the AI over the phone than to be subjected to people like Sarah. read more

This review is specifically for the entire company of Verizon itself. I was a customer for almost 9 years and left them recently because they refused to help me. In 2018 they let me pay off a flip phone with monthly payments since I'm low income and was unable to outright pay for the phone in full. Then in 2020 a former friend bought me a smartphone outright so I could stay as a prepaid customer. They are now claiming they can't find any proof of me paying my bills from 2020 on and they are piddling around pretending to look for a way to give me back the full refund I was promised. The OS in my previous smartphone was dying so I asked if there was a way I could pay off a smartphone the same way I had paid off my flip phone in 2018. They refused to help me even though they had done it once before and when they kept trying to give me a bunch of garbage excuses I politely but assertively cornered them to the point to where no one would actually respond to me on the other end of the phone, causing me to believe that I had been hung up on. They do not give a crap how good of a customer you are they will screw you over the first chance they get, and this is coming from someone who paid my bills on time like clockwork every single month for 5 consecutive years, and then when my billing date was changed for the past 3 years I paid my bills early. The only reason they even get 1 star is for the simple fact that their cell phone service rarely if ever drops. I switched to T-Mobile and it was the best decision I've ever made. Avoid Verizon at all costs unless you truly don't care about how badly you get screwed over. read more

Sprint is my cell phone carrier. I thought I would shop around because I needed a new phone. My Iphone 4S barely stays charged. I decided to stop in Verizon to check out what they had to offer. I am not particularly displeased with my Sprint service but I was willing to switch. I was in the store for about 15-20 minutes. No one acknowledged me or my girlfriend while we were there. I did not think much of it. Then another couple walked in and some employee walked up to them and started helping them. There is no one way that no one noticed us. If everyone was busy, I would have settled for a "I'll be with you as soon I can." I decided to leave. I went over to the Best Buy Mobile store in the Eastland Mall. One of the workers stopped what they were doing to greet us and came over to assist us immediately. I told her that I was considering switching to Verizon. She convinced me to stay with Sprint. I have a Iphone 6S and I am pleased with it. Great customer service gets my business. read more

See, I usually go to the branch out in Orland Park (my hometown) however my phone had died on me and i was in a bind. So I waltzed into this branch and let me tell you, here worked some of the most uninformed and rude employees Ive ever met. Imagine that person who tries way to hard to impress you at everything despite the fact they have no idea about anything.... the workers at this location. Verizon wireless has the worst customer service I have ever experienced! I bought an IPhone 8 on line in early December 2017, and returned it to my local Verizon wireless within a few days. I knew three would, be a $35 re-stocking fee, which I paid on December 11th 2017. On Saturday, May 19th I get this leter in the mail from a collection agency saying I owe $12.80. There was no reason given for the charge. I just called Verizon on-line to discuss this with their customer service folks. After describing what had happened, the customer service representative said that she could take the payment. I asked her if she had heard a word I said. After I demanded she tell me what the charge was for she said it was for initially opening an account with Verizon Wireless. I asked to speak with her supervisor, and after a 5 minute hold she comes back and tells me a supervisor will be calling me back in 24 - 48 hours. I told her if this was Amazon, or Directv this would have been taken care of immediately. She just asked if she could help me with anything else. I hung up the phone. I will never do business with Verizon again! They are willing to ruin my good credit for a $12.80 charge. I will of course pay it as I have no recourse (unless management comes through, and I am not holding my breath). read more

There are some really nice people that work at the Verizon Corporate store here in town. Not to be confused with the franchise operated Verizon stores. This review is specifically for the 504 IAA Drive Corporate store. There are also some folks working there that don't have very good product knowledge and I have met one that wasn't nice or knowledgeable. But on the measure I do like the folks that work there. The problem is that Verizon doesn't appropriately staff for busy times. The last time I was there I waited over 45 minutes and had to choose between standing or the floor as the 4 seats that they have for customers to wait on were taken. If you aren't going to staff appropriately, at least give us somewhere to sit!! The other problem I had was bad information. You really have to research the products before you go because it is kind of like going to Wal-Mart, i.e. self-service. I was given 2 key pieces of bad information, one causing delayed shipment and one forcing me to return a product that I couldn't use because it didn't operate the way they told me. I would literally rather go to the DMV than Verizon at this point. At least the DMV gives you chairs to sit in. My advice is to try the franchise stores or, if you are getting an IPhone head to the big city and go to the Apple Store. Or do it online if what you are doing isn't complicated. read more

I've always had great luck with Verizon. They have great in-store customer service that starts when you walk in the door. On busy days, you type your name into a computer at the entrance and your name pops up on a screen and you see where you are in line. That way you can look around the store without having to stand in line. This is an "official" Verizon store unlike some of the other stores in town. read more

Wow. My phone stopped charging last night so I planned to stop by after work which was about an hour before the time listed on their website. I'm a teenager and obviously look like one and I showed up in the rain and walked around to the front of the building and was met by a locked door and an employee shaking his head, waving me away from the store, checking his invisible watch, pointing in the other direction and finally running his finger across his throat. I agree with Mike C's post. The employees in this store are rude. They blast music so they can jam, with no regard for people trying to conduct business at the counter. One employee promises you one thing, only to get a different story at checkout. They're not interested in getting you the best deal, only to sell you what they want - which always seems to cost more. After we signed up for Verizon at Best Buy, the phones were not working right. I stopped by on May 25th which was a holiday. I had to work till 5. I called the store and confirmed that they closed at 6. I practically ran into the store 5:10. Within seconds, I was greeted by Ryan, the manager. I found out his name on my second trip. He was there to help with patience. He explained everything in great detail. I was so impressed with the remarkable services! My second trip to the store was different experience with a different manager but that was another story. I am willing to try for the third visit in the future but I definitely want Ryan to assist me again. read more

I went into this store 2 days ago to upgrade my husbands phone. I waited 15 minutes while they went in the back to "grab"the phone. When they finally returned, they had "run the numbers"in an effort to get us from an older 10gb plan to an unlimited plan. They said that if we signed up for auto pay, our monthly bill would actually decrease by $11 per month. I verbally verified this twice in the presence of the manager and then agreed. My daughter called today to check on getting the same plan and was told her bill would increase by $60 which made me suspicious. I just hung up with Verizon and they said our new bill would be $81 more per month than what we were paying previously. This store is full of liars trying to take advantage of trusting customers. DO NOT go there. Just call Verizon direct. They also refused to activate the new phone for me. I was handed mine in the sealed box and told to activate it when I got home. The Verizon Wireless company overall offers a great service; however, the customer service representatives at this Bloomington location have been rude and not helpful the last three times I have been in there. When I asked to speak with a manager, he was helpful and the girls that work there seem to change their attitude when he is around. Worst phone buying experience I've ever had! I made an appointment the day before to switch to a new phone. I thought it wasn't unreasonable to ask 15 minutes of questions when investing $800 and agree to a two year commitment (It was three years since I bought a new phone, so had lots of questions). However, my sales rep had a different idea. Yes, she did answer my questions but short with only basic info (that I couldn't have read online)..she kept looking around the room and at her phone and kept trying to rush me through. At checkout, since Verizon no longer does the content transfer (was told I could do it in the convenience of my own home), I asked some questions about that. She stuffed two worksheets into my bag and said "it is easy", just download tech coach app if I need help. I received a followup online survey and completed it...a week later received a call from the store manager but I wasn't home. So, I called back a couple of hours later and since he was not available, I left a message for him to return my call...never got a call back. After about a week, I still had a few questions about my new phone, so I went to the Verizon store on College Ave.; they were very helpful. read more
