Went in to upgrade one of the 4 devices on my account and to see about lowering my (in my opinion) outrageously large monthly phone bill. Check in was fairly fast. I had one customer in front of my waiting, so my brother and I read up on the monthly plans available and the phones they had available. Once it was my turn, the rep Saleem came to assist. I explained the reason for my visit and he took a look at my account. He stated that I was already in the best plan for my needs based on my utilization. My brother pointed out that the unlimited route for me was less per month and calculated the bill for him. Saleem finally agreed that the unlimited route for the 4 devices was indeed most cost effective as my brother had pointed out. My brother and I selected an entry level smart phone for my mother and after explaining what was needed the sales rep agreed that was what he would recommend too. I had to pay an activation fee for the phone which I didn't like. He couldn't assist further and suggested calling customer service to see if they'd waive it. After we chose to pass on his attempt to sell us add ons such as a screen protector and overpriced phone case, he was less motivated. The associates were more interested in speaking to each other, even when they were dealing with customers. Once I got to the car, I had more questions about the new billed amount and such. In conclusion, I feel that I did walk out of there with a phone (immediate gratification) but going to the physical location wasn't above and beyond in any way. I ended up calling customer service when I got home to answer my questions and to inquire about activation fees. I could've made my changes online and purchased the phone online as well. Im Disappointed that I've been with this company for 10 plus years with 4 lines. Theres way too much competition out there to settle for average or less than service. read more

Ja'Kel was my agent and he was INCREDIBLE! He was so helpful, so kind, didn't push anything, showed me multiple options and pros/cons. He answered all my questions as well! everyone there was friendly and patient even as I could see customers get frustrated, the staff kept it cool and solved problems. I've had absolutely a horrible experience with this store and my service. My whole family (6) went in on my husbands birthday to switch our ATT to VZW. We had quotes and went with the chanhe. on the 4 & 5 new phone, they had issues. Then, the last phone they said was free with my trade. But their cc machine was down for the VZW card so I had to use personal card for taxes and fees which store manager Kyle guaranteed me a refund for this after my first bill. This was $1400!!! Issues with port transfers over next 2 weeks. First 4 bills were wrong and after hours with Cust service, went into store with printed copies of all bills. I was promised by asst mgr that he or Kyle would call within a couple days after further review. They also promised to make sure service doesn't get interrupted as well as late fees being erased. They didn't after 1.5 weeks. I paid again. They got 5th bill correct after this, but never refunded me for other stuff, 6th bill comes yesterday and it's $86 more than what it should be. I'm otw to this store again for my 11th visit since going to VZW bc you can't call store directly. This store needs HELP! read more

Verizon is the absolute worst company for customer service that I have ever dealt with. I had cell service with them for over 25 years. In 2020 I contacted them and requested a deal they were advertising for new customers. My bill was over $257 per month and I only asked for the better deal. I was told the current offer was only for new customers. Customers that had never paid Verizon 1 cent but yet they could get the same service I had for over $100 less than I was paying so I changed carriers. Today, over 3 years later I asked them to unlock my cell phone so they informed me that they will not unlock MY phone unless I pay an additional charge of $85.05. Is there anyone else that feel like this is wrong? Again, they never said I owed this before today, over 3 years after I changed providers. I would never recommend anyone using this horrible company. Worst customer service I have ever seen. Walk in... approached by some guy who signs me in at 1:32 pm. 3 sales rep on floor at that time helping 3 different folks. As first two reps finish with customers, they then go into a back room until only one guy left out front. 8 customers now waiting. No one signing anyone in. Two more employees walk in and into back room. Now I know at least 4 employees back there while 9 customers patiently waiting. WAITED ONE HOUR.... Rep comes out and goes up to crowd and tries to sign people up on waiting list. Told her I had been there ONE HOUR. Says she does not have me on her "list". Show her my phone with stupid Verizon message time stamped to show I had checked in one hour earlier. Asked her to send out one of the other three employees in back to help waiting customers. She replies they have "other jobs to do". I got ticked off and loudly told entire store that the customer service stinks and nothing should be more important than helping waiting customers. Purchased a new phone in Saturday from the Woodlawn location, great service. I live close to the Arboretum, was there for lunch and decided to drop in that location to ask about certain functions on my phone. When I entered the store, no one seemed particularly interested in stepping up. Finally a woman approached. I said I need help with my voice mail. Do not do business here. I added a phone to our existing plan with the specifics reviewed with the sales representative clearly indicating two separate plans at the price they are at cannot be afforded. She noted the second would only be an additional $10 per month plus the cost of the installment of the phone payments, on top of our existing phone plan for our original line. Great! Not so great. Liar! Was not only two phone plans at full price but additional fees I didn't agree to! And it gets better. With a husband injured at home that cannot be left alone for long periods of time, I was told to go back to the store to fix the issue because calling CS couldn't. Nope...didn't work. They told me they couldn't help me! That's a customer service function! I've been dealing with this issue since the end of January when I added the phone. Worse service ever! I've been going to this location for over a decade and never had bad service. Went in to buy a new apple watch and apple iphone. asked the sales associate to show me the series 5 watch in gray. he said the display was just stolen and couldn't. I asked him to open a new one up so I may look at it, he told me no, I can go to Best Buy or Apple to see one. I told him I've been a member with Verizon since 1992! He said it would cost me $50 for him to open a box. I said this is ridiculous, he then said have a good day and walked into the back office. I stormed out and will look for new service. Crap service We couldn't get any service on ATT wireless at this location so we switched to Verizon. The world phone that my partner wanted had to be ordered, we were told "It should be here on Friday, I'll call you when it gets here" No call on Friday, Saturday, Monday or Tuesday or Wed so we called and the customer service person who had attended us said "It just got here!" . We drive over and she's gone for the day and there's a label on the box showing that it had indeed been delivered the previous Friday and she didn't call us. The young man who handled it then seemed very unhappy at having to spend time with us and sent us on our way with a non functioning phone, telling us that we'll get a text message soon. There was no text message or phone service and two days later we drive back to Verizon to find out that the second agent had failed to activate the phone or to tell us to do it both. Eight days to get a phone transfer, 2 days without any service, good going! FAIL! read more

After a really crappy experience w/ another sales rep @ the Ballantyne Village Verizon store earlier today, I was kinda reluctant to go back to Verizon. However, I decided to give it one more chance at a diff location and I can honestly say that Verizon is back in my good graces thanks to their rep Kyle who was sensational. He got my mom and myself squared away w/ brand new iphones, the family plan, and all the accessories we were jonsin' for without being pushy. He also went above and beyond and helped get us a discount. I was blissfully unaware my company had such a corporate discount, but he opened my eyes to that fact and saved me $ which he didn't have to do as I was a buyer regardless. His demeanor was COMPLETELY diff from the sales rep over in the Ballantyne Village store. This guy was smart, respectful, listened to what I wanted/needed and made it happen. Most reviews are true, bad customer service, long waits, and surprise fees. There is one saving grace at this location and it is one of the employees, Anthony. He is the most knowledgeable and attentive employees there. I have dealt with other people before and after Anthony and it was ridiculous. Bought a series 3 watch from the store. Went to retun the watch as we wanted the series 4 watch. The sales rep charged me 35 dollar restocking fee, I told the rep it would be better for me to have bought the watch from apple as they do not have a restocking fee. He told me NO apple also has a restocking fee, I said they do not. He insisted that they do. A total LIE the rep did not know what he was talking about if the rep did not know what he was talking about he should have said I do not know and that would have been fine. A warning to all who want to buy products from that store or from a verizon store and you return a item they will charge you a restocking fee which they do not tell you when you buy the item. Got roped into getting the new iPhone with a great deal they were offering, gave an extra money on top of trade in values of our phones but when time came to turn in the old the old phones they forgot to mention that we would have to change to a new monthly service that would cost an extra $40 a month. Manager try's to be helpful saying that they didn't lie to me just failed to hold the conversation. I had the absolute worst experience with this location. FYI the store manager's name is "Matt". The shortest version is that a store associate did not order a product for me through my Verizon account, and cleared out shipping information in another person's account, then had me input my shipping information. My debit card was charged $171, and I was promised overnight shipping, with the fee waived because the store was out of stock. Not surprisingly, the product never arrived overnight... even three days later it had not arrived. What happened was that the product was sent to the other account's address, the customer refused the shipment, and the product was sent back. So, the outcome is that first, I do not have the promised product, two, it was not in said time, and three they could not send me the product overnight again as promised originally. They wanted me to pay again for a replacement, while the original payment was already deducted from my bank account. In addition, the refund *should* be returned to my bank account in five days. They did not want to give me any compensation for the experience. They would not give me the information of the district manager. The overall experience of this I would be described as unprofessional, especially since the inept employee Emmanuel took SIX hours to even track the product with the order number, etc. Their business is poorly operated, and have zero excuse for being this incompetent. I hope that the district manager sees this review and takes severe corrective action towards the manager, and employees of this store. read more

I have 5 lines and have been a loyal Verizon customer for 20 years. I always refer my friends to this store because they are knowledgeable and very helpful. The customer service representatives are excellent. But when my daughter was sold an upgrade at a "great deal" which turned out to be an installment plan with accessories she didn't need, I went in to meet with the manager to return the phone. The manager, Bryce Gaulin, was smug and condescending. After 30 minutes of him trying to sell me on the deal, he said "I'm doing you a favor" to take this back after the 14 day window. Never once did he say we appreciate your business and let's try to work this out so you are happy. And Verizon makes it impossible to lodge a formal complaint with management. Shady Business - I have been with Verizon for 10+ years, have four lines of unlimited data, paying $300 a month and I was totally ripped off and taken advantage of -- clearly they do not care at all about their customers. If you want to know the whole story - read on: Last Thursday I went with my son to upgrade his phone. The Verizon rep opened our account and noticed how high our monthly bill and offered to see if he could lower it. Right away he said he could lower it by moving me to a new unlimited data plan. He also said, with my new plan, I would have triple A coverage for my cars. He showed me the numerical difference and I said it looked great. He proceeded to upgrade my son's phone. We were in the store for nearly two hours, first waiting, then waiting for to finish all the paperwork. The Verizon rep also installed an app and created an account on my phone, to go with the triple A service. When it was time to leave, he said he would walk out to our cars with us to install the devices and gave me a bag with a few boxes in it. He walked us to our cars and installed two devices, and gave me the other two devices in boxes to use at home. Note: we only have three cars, but he gave us four devices since we have four drivers. Once I was home, my husband asked what the devices were, and when I told him, he said: I think you got ripped off. You need to go back to the store. I went back to the store Monday morning and spoke with manager, Cassie. She explained that the Verizon rep had lowered our monthly payment but we were now paying $40/month for the triple A service through Hum. I told her I wasn't sure I wanted the service, and I would go home and discuss it with my husband and come back Tuesday. My husband said we did not need to pay $40 a month for something we will not really use. I scheduled to meet with Cassie today at 2PM and when I arrived with all 4 devices she immediately passed me off to another manager who told me that I would need to pay a restocking fee for each Hum device. I was billed $128 for the devices - devices I never even consented to purchase. I explained the whole situation to both Cassie and the other manager, but both of them felt that the Verizon rep had not done anything wrong and that I was at fault for agreeing to the service. I was never told Iwas purchasing anything - I was told I was getting triple A service and lowering my monthly bill. Now I am paying an additional $128 this month. Shame on me for getting ripped off. But shame on the managers at Verizon and the culture that takes advantage of loyal customers who trust the Verizon agents. It would be really nice if you could go to a Verizon store and actually get help - instead of getting ripped off. Maybe one exists somewhere, but I can tell you this much: don't go to the Arboretum store. read more
