I have now been lied to twice by John regarding the necessity to accept insurance when I told him I did not want it. I was told I had to accept it and then cancel it later. He also screwed up a simple replacement that had now cost me over ten hours on the phone and and three trips to the store. The store tells me that folks on the phone don't know what they are talking about and the folks on the phone tell me that the the folks in the store don't know what they are taking about. I'll never get my time back and feel truly taken advantage of. You should never be lied to so an employee gets their bonus or perks...truly despicable service. read more

You know, if I can avoid going into a Verizon-- I will. I have legit PTSD from repeatedly being asked if I took my phone's battery out or turned off my phone as a fix from the 00's. This Verizon does the job but isn't going out of its way to be stellar. I traded in an iPhone and forgot to send it. So I brought it in... folks didn't know what to do and couldn't help me. Ultimately, Verizon does the job for us. I do very much like their online interface and app. Overall-- I've had US Cellar, TMobile and Verizon. Verizon is my fave of the three. read more

I came in today to get a new SIM for my new phone. Bailey (I think that's her name) helped installing this new SIM on my phone and made sure that both 4G and calling worked. The whole process was free and involved little work on my part. I had to wait for bit, but the store was crowded, and sometimes you just have to be patient with a new mobile device. What matters is the result (I got my new phone to work with my existing Verizon account) and the communication (I was kept informed of the whole process). Overall a very positive experience! I've found that coming to a Verizon store is way more helpful than calling or chatting with Verizon customer service. These folks at the store really know what they are doing. A side note about the address: there used to be a Verizon store near Plato's closet, but that one is now closed, and to find this current (new) store, you just have to keep driving further in the direction of the Coralridge mall. My husband and I tried unsuccessfully yesterday to find the (old) Verizon store that we knew, but finally found this new place. read more

Serena here at the Coralville Verizon store was a lifesaver to us when our precious elderly aunt (Mims) had her phone stolen. We are in New Zealand so couldn't help much at this distance. Serena helped Mims get her new phone set up when poor Mims was stressed and overwhelmed. Serena's patience and kindness was above and beyond the call of duty. Such amazing, friendly service. I was very disappointed with my experience today. The young man that "helped" me ruined my day with his poor attitude and overall lack of interest in helping me. First off, he would not look me in the eye when answering my questions. Now, I know this is uncomfortable for some people to do, but the number one body language sign of interest is eye contact. For someone working in customer service, you NEED to at least try to do this. From that first impression and continuing on, my experience with this young man did not get any better. Example: I asked for the fee on a monthly plan and the young man told me I need to pay an activation fee that was double the amount I needed to pay. I told him the previous lady did not tell me about an activation fee, and he quickly changed his mind and told me "okay, I can fix that". What does that mean? Does everyone pay a different amount? When I asked whether the SIM card was included, at first he said yes, but when I asked again (without looking at me), he said no. This is why eye contact is essential - maybe he had something else on his mind (and if so, I can understand a little more) but I don't know that because he wouldn't look at me. I wish I could have switched to another Verizon worker. Overall, Verizon needs to have better attitude and knowledge training on how to answer questions and please the customers. The store also needs to have a welcoming environment when customers walk in.I know the people that work at the store are a younger generation, but that does not entitle them to poor attitude. Not good at all basically the same experience I had with Sprint no one said anything or can we help you so I told a male staff they lost a customer and got laughed at then went over to a female staff member and told them and it was like so what we don't care attitude so hopefully this review will make them understand what poor guest services was at the store read more

I have been to this place multiple times and have not been helped once. In Iowa city/coralville it is the newest biggest and nicest Verizon store with the most employees yet some how the the wait is always an hour. Complete trash don't go in to this place. read more
