Verizon is awful. No credit for return phone after a month. 2 hours on the phone with customer service. Incompetent.

Patrick Schulth was very helpful in explaining how it worked, answered my husband's questions, and was very personable. We mentioned to Patrick that another amazing Verizon employee named Shane had been very helpful to my wife last summer. Both went above and beyond to help us. We purchased a new Apple phone and case. Went in to transfer data from one phone to the other. Patrick Schluth waited on us and even though we couldn't transfer the SIM cards he was able to transfer all the data to the new phone and activate the new phone. The store seems to be ok. My issue is with their service. It has gotten horrendous in the Hickory area. Several of the busiest, most trafficked areas have zero coverage. That includes the very busy target shopping center and the mall. I am constantly running into "dead" zones throughout the entire area. If you pull up their coverage map it shows all of these areas in "nationwide 5g", which is clearly very inaccurate. Worst customer service ever salesperson walked out to lunch and left us standing there someone else came and said oh he forgot to put the SIM card in and then we finally got that done we went home and try to use the phone it wouldn't work had to swap some cards into old phone just to be able to make a phone call going to try again tomorrow to get phone working read more

Worst service ever. Had an issue with porting a number over to my business account, and they called consumer support. I was on hold for over 20 minutes, and the person assisting me was asking her colleagues and one of them softly mentioned that business support closed on weekends. She didn't feel it was necessary to tell us this information. After a half hour, we left because all they did was dial the support number on my cell phone, put it on speaker, and walk away. After an hour and a half total, we left. Not like they care about their customers anyway. At least someone on the phone was able to get me to a port specialist to talk to in hopes of remedying this situation. read more

In my own opinion - with having worked for Verizon for over a year, they provide excellent employee perks and benefits. Alongside the customer service you see within stores and the willingness the company is to go above and beyond to provide solutions to keep us all connected. In my own opinion I've never experienced any issues with the quality of service on any of my mobile devices. Do Not buy from this store they are all super Shady, unethical and I have been told by an attorney they are conducting illegal practices. Chasity and Laura the store managers knew about it as well. First they sold me a used pc and did not mention it was used and I have proof it's all int he pc as well as the top gave it away. However the man who checked me out because as soon as I walked in Chastity looked up and said I can't take care of you afterall I leave early today but I've got someone else who will. This guy should be fired. He opened my supposed "new laptop" facing him, top cover facing me and started tapping away said he was getting it all set up for me. Made me electronically sign that he could officially open this New box because if I changed my mind I'd then pay a restocking fee. I don't think so!!! The proper authorities have already been contacted. Then he turns it around and hands me a little yellow sticky with an email he made along with the password he set for me?!!!! Connected it to my pc and my phone!!! Guess you can already guess that the password had been changed before i got home and I can't even log into this email and better than that he created me a microsoft account with this gmail he created without my knowledge or consent to begin with. Then before I left even as hard as he struggled and acted all theatrical about how tightly they pack these new pc's in the box he insisted on stopping me right before exiting with a roll of tape to "just make sure it was safe" He strategically taped right over the Mac, serial number, the whole label. Luckily for once I was careful when opening something new (NOT) and it's all very legible and well when you go into the control panel pretty hard to deny that it was initially used and files even still present from severa; years back. They are getting this Pixel 8 back as well by April 23rd (30 days) because the whole reason I bought it was because my Apple was hacked which Chastity remarked that she didn't think I had been hacked since she majored in cyber security etc. and yet she's selling cell phones? Maybe she should not assume because it's documented by Apple, the police,and the federal cyber security commission and it is in fact possible if someone you know and trust know enough about you to add themselves to your Apple ID. Point is...I switched, had to get a new number (also I requested a 704 but it was set up and he showed me on the sticky again my new 828 # and I stated IB didn't want an 828# that I had already been told not 2 days before it waS NO PROBLEM Tto give me a 704# he replied and said "yeah, it got taken". The number they gave me has been confirmed by numerous callers that it belonged to anothert not long ago at all in fact confirmed via conversations with these strangers calling and texting me non stop. When I try to recover my ppassword with this email he made me using my number he supposedly linked to it and controlling both devices as far as apps being able to be added etc etc etc but tit then shows me several emails and ask me which one I;d like to receive my verification code to...NONE of them are MINE! My security settings on this Google Pixel 8 cut themselves back on, it records all my conversations even when I cut it off and I have Zero control iover it, but I bvet the shaggy haired dark headed greasy looking dude has something to do tith that!!! This is all 100% true, I have no shame posting it and walking right back in that store and returning them bboth and then going to another Verizon store and letting them also know how leary I am of trusting due to what has happend at this location across from Valley Hills mall in Hickory NC but I WILL go get my NEW Orbic Airsurf 5G they are trying to charge me for and I will not pay for this past month for none of what they sent me home with and limited access to dio squat with either. This is so unethical, and illegal practice for an employee to create a cuystomer an email on his own accord and give her a password and create her a microsft accoutn with it and then use it to palay XBox games with! read more

From telling someone to not get an attitude when he told them he was here to pay a bill, to telling others that they had cut in line when the only line that was formed was made by those waiting. Over the years I have been a Verizon customer, this company has completely gone into the toilet! You cannot get help when you call their main number, because the AI responding is so stupid ("I don't get that. ") that it never responds appropriately. When you do get a live person, the representative does not help, often makes your problem worse and I have even had a two go into my phone and mess things up. Almost always, the agent twists the call into trying to sell something. When I called tech support about my poor signal, the agent lied, saying upgrading my phone to 5G would fix the problem. I am a disabled veteran, living in a rural setting. I have medical issues that make having an adequate signal essential in the event of a medical crisis - yet Verizon refuses to make it right!!! I seriously warn you to avoid doing business with this company, where every policy is built around greed, as opposed to customer service! read more

Recently moved to hickory and very impressed with the attention, speed and outstanding customer service from all the businesses we have dealt with, especially compared to our previous home. This store was the only thing that reminded me of new jersey. Not friendly, spoke very little. We are long time verizon customers with paid off phones and they offer no incentives, offered no information about the iphone x vs iphone 8 since we werent sure which we wanted. This young girl was pretty much useless so i can only assume this is a corporate wide mentality. Switch to straight talk. The quality is excellent, unlimited data for 55 per month. Just buy the phone outright and be done with verizon. They're like used car salesmen. read more

First sales rep tried to sell me an Avalon for $100, said that was my only option for added phone and line. So I went to aVerizon retailer, who told me about the special deal of an iPhone SE for less than a $1 a month + the cost of its own line. I return to Verizon store, they reluctantly give me the deal then send me out the door with a phone that is still in box, not charged or activated. AND she didn't mention that the SE uses the special brick to charge. Tired of this shabby, exploitive treatment, I went to another Verizon retailer, who was very helpful and professional. They activated my phone. I can't think of any reason to recommend the Verizon store on 70. They want your money, but they do NOT want to help you. read more

I view having to call my wireless provider or enter one of their stores as a necessary evil. I haven't had a good experience yet - and that's across the board with every provider I've ever had. My issue with this Verizon store was the LONG wait. Crazy long wait. I needed a new sim card... I stood in the store for 70 minutes before I was helped. When I arrived, there were only 3 people ahead of me and it STILL took more than an hour! Meanwhile, there were multiple employees walking around the store, from behind the counter, crossing the floor and entering an "employees only" door then eventually sauntering back to behind the counter and disappearing to a back office behind the wall. SUPER ANNOYING to see all these employees casually stop and pick up conversations with the few employees that were serving the waiting customers. They ALL seemed to have such a nonchalant attitude. Not one employee seemed to care at all about customer service or efficiency. When I left there were 12 people in the cue waiting for service. I can't imagine how long it took them to get what they needed. Sooner or later I am sure I will HAVE to go back... let me tell you, I will be waiting outside the door when they open. I'd rather wait for a few minutes to have them unlock the door than wait for an HOUR, later in the morning. (It was 10:00 am when I showed up today and 11:30 am when I was able to leave.) read more

Went here to pick up a charger with my 2 year old during COVID. I was wearing a face mask. As per state requirements at the time, my 2 year old was not (although if I thought I could get him to keep it on, he would have been). Waited in my car for my turn after signing in (with my son clearly right beside me) but when it became my turn, I was told by the apologetic sales guy (after he double checked with the manager) that his manager will only allow one person per representative. There was no attempt at getting me what I needed. It wouldn't have been particularly hard to take my card inside to charge it and bring me the charger in return. So I was basically turned away for having a kid with me. Got the charger off Amazon for less than a third of the price. I guess I should give kudos to the manager for keeping his staff safe from a potential sale. He's fighting the good fight. read more

I purchased the new iPhone 12 for my husband. He had an android previously. I tried my best to transfer his data from the android to the iPhone and it just would not transfer. He took both phones up to the Verizon store on Hwy 70 in Hickory and the would not help him. They sent him to a cellphone repair store to have it done. You would think after spending all that money to buy a new iPhone with Verizon and the previous phone was also purchased from them that they could take the time to help you get it set up after you have spent hours yourself trying and not being able to get it done. So we had to pay the cellphone repair store almost $55.00 for them to get the data transferred. I would never recommend this store to anyone. I have been a long time customer of Verizon but this makes me want to change carrier. read more

First let me say that I have NEVER been to a merchant in which MOST, if not all customers walked out with an angry look on their faces. Needless to say, let me get to my experience. My wife purchased an iPhone 11 after having her phone crash. We do not do plan payments. So it was purchased in full. Screen protector and cover was also purchased. This is where it gets me steamed. No receipt was given, but emailed. After returning home after a 2-hour wait, she found they charged for two screen covers at $49.99 each. Also, phone was NOT activated at all! Where I come in is when I spent 2 1/2 hours with customer service (they were nice), to get phone activated. They couldn't help with overcharge. So next day...go back to get refund for overcharge. As Ryan Cato, " store manager" and man bun aficionado says we must wait two hours in line for their mistake of stealing from myself. two hours to do a one minute return of overcharge. He says there is nothing he can do, that we can't jump in front of others. I'm not jumping ahead..as a matter of fact, it seems my purchase itself doesn't seem to be over. They can't seem to not only handle selling a phone. But they also can't activate one, nor count money and items purchased!! I can't complain about customer service I dealt with over the phone...but THIS STORE...I would fire half the damn staff! Rude and irresponsible, and I'd really prefer to never do business with this place again! I am not exaggerating at all, but actually toning it down. My entire family visited this store a few weeks ago. My mother, niece, nephew, etc got new phones and accessories. My older sister added people to her account, my younger sister upgraded to unlimited data plan. Since that time my 70 year old mother has both her phones ringing (old and new) at the same time. Her contacts and information didnt transfer to the new phone properly. The old phone wasnt working properly which is why she upgraded, but now she has to carry two phones...one to look numbers up on and the other to actually call people. My niece and nephew keep getting messages that they're out of data even though they were transferred and charged for unlimited data plan. Worse, the accessories they bought with the new phones and for which my sisters card was charged at the store have now been added to her verizon bill. Not only that, the people who were supposed to be on the family plan werent added. After numerous calls to the store and speaking to at least three different "managers" and calling Verizon offices, nothing has been fixed. This store is 40 miles from my mother's home. Instead of offering any assistance the store has all but accused my sister of stealing the accessories. We were there for almost two hours to begin with. My husband and I went there on 6/29/17 around 11am . The line was not that long that time and we got helped from a lady ( don't remember her name), she's a white lady, aged late 30s to early 40s. I'm been using Verizon carrier for years and switch to another carrier. So I talked to her that I just make sure that my 2 year contracts is done and I can switch to other carriers,so she said yes it's done but she was being very rude,annoying and asking a ton questions why do I switch ( her voice was very angry and her attitude was terrible) actually, I'm a consumer and I have right to choose, she doesn't have right to be mad or rude to customers. She was talking like a stupid uneducated person just because I choose another carrier. Finally she helped me cancel my plan and I was asking her nicely about unlocking my phone and she replied that her company doesn't deal with that,so I asked her again where could I do that and her said she doesn't know and might not able to use ( with her angry voice) am I really wrong just to ask a question? I was thinking why would she work as a customer service with her attitude like that? She doesn't have amind service,may be she has not be train? Anyway,she was the rudest Verizon employee I have ever seen. A few hours later, I logged in my Verizon account online and asking the same question, only 1 question is about unlocking my phone since I got my iPhone 6plus from Verizon, thought they might know the answer and yes they know. I chatted online to Casey and she only took a few more minutes to check the details and she told me that my phone is unlock. Verizon in Hickory....called before I drove there to ask about a repair to beats that were broken. I purchased them 2 months ago and they had already broken. They guy was very nice and said they wanted to take care of their customers so to please bring them in. I should have gotten his name because when I went to the store I talked to a girl who was so rude and not helpful at all. I have been with verizon for more than 20 years but am now thinking of changing because of this service. Unacceptable! !!! read more

BEST Verizon store ever! I was fortunate to get Hilary as my representative when I walked in. As soon as I met her, I knew she was knowledgeable and caring. I must admit I had some problems with Verizon as a whole in the past and she went above and beyond trying to help me. My son had a problem with an upgrade from a Verizon store in Sherman Oaks CA, and Hilary spent hours trying to rectify their horrible customer service. She eventually got her manager Brooke involved (who was just as helpful and caring) After they spent WAY too much time on an issue that wasn't their problem, our issues were finally resolved. Hilary restored my faith in Verizon and excellent customer service. I will always ask for Hilary when I need an upgrade for my business. Great staff, no long waits, plenty of help and so knowledgeable about all the phones features and plans. Wish I could give Hilary and her coworkers 10 stars!!!!! read more
