I used to work at Verizon. My phone had broken to the best of my knowledge and I attempted every troubleshooting step I've ever learned. Somehow, this wizard of an employee performed what I can only describe as an act of voodoo and resurrected the phone. He lost a sale, sure but my god I will never go to another Verizon store now. He just saved me a 1000$ bill two days before my birthday. Absolute legend in my eyes, in reality he didn't even have to try and fix it - but within moments it was better again. Having been a Verizon customer for 20+ years, I have always gotten the best deals and service. Rarely (if ever) have I or my family members made any complaints. But the attitudes and overall decorum of this store location that my mother and I encountered today was just abysmal and ruined our day. First of all, we entered and no one greeted us or asked if we needed help. We were hoping to get a new phone case that would fit my father's outdated I-phone 11. I knew we probably wouldn't come up with anything and that it would be too out of date, but we'd gotten multipurpose cases here before. We made our way over to the phone case area and it was a mess, there didn't seem to be a real order to anything, things were mismatched, etc. Then an employee walked past my mother and let out a loud, disgusting belch. A nearby customer, who was waiting for said Verizon employee to come back and attend to him, even responded in disgust and annoyance saying with immense sarcasm, "Charming." I then made my way over to an older gentleman employee, saying excuse me and apologizing if I was interrupting him as it looked like he was in the middle of helping someone/doing something on his tablet. Said gentleman rolled his eyes, huffed, and said in a deeply annoyed tone of voice, "What's up?" I asked if they had any cases that would fit an I-phone 11 and he interrupted me before I had time to finish my question and said, "We don't have that. It's too old and out of date. Happy Holidays." before going back to what he was doing. While I knew it was a long shot that we could get said case, I believe we could have been treated more kindly and that overall demeanors of the employees and the store could have been better and more professional. Holy Cow!!! If you want to be railroaded into the most expensive phone deal ever and for you to be 'in the dark' the whole way this brand is for you. I explained to the salesperson who "helped" me that I was a senior and wanted a low-cost plan for two phones I already owned. What I wound up with is a plan that cost me nearly $250 for just the first month!! This is how they treat seniors?? If you shake hands with these people here make sure you count your fingers after!! I would appreciate it if Yelp added negative ratings. Have been a Verizon Wireless customer for 18+years. Was told due to my loyalty, I could be added to the $25/line for 3 yrs everthough my daughter and her fiance created there own place (fyi - simple math says Verizon gained a customer becuase he add AT&T). Was lied to 4x each was a recorded line. told to wait for next billing cycle and it was be active. called again today and they say we cant do that. Will go to Consumer Celluar for the $25/line and $75/mo vs Verizon for $120. read more

Verizon's downright a garbage company. Sending me two refurbished phones that didn't work. One with a bad charging port another with a cracked screen and they expect me to continue to take a refurbished phone. Best part is, I just found out that after I sent back the one today with the damaged screen I had to fight to make them waive the charge for returning a damaged device. Think DMV and you understand the experience you're in for at the Verizon Store. Take a number and good luck finding a seat while you wait 30 minutes for your name to be called. Once you are called, you are greeted by an employee that says not my job, go call customer service. I told him that I already did that and they said to come here to this specific store. He said they were wrong and have a nice day. Lucky for me, this was to help my sister in law with her phone. I have T-Mobile where the store will take care of everything you need with no waiting. My wife and I made the mistake of trying to save some money and switch over to AT&T. Big mistake. We were told the service would be the same as Verizons. We figured in this day and age all cell phone companies would have good service. It was not. After two days we had to run back to Verizon and ask them to have us back. Jim, the solutions manager, and the staff bent over backwards for us. They put together every promotion available to save us money. They were beyond creative and friendly. If you could get a Zero on Yelp this store would get it. I went into this Verizon store just to make an adjustment to my billing and was treated with absolute disrespect. Upon walking into the store I walked up to the desk where you sign in and the man there asked me if I would like to sign in. I asked how long is the wait and he said it would be 20-25 minutes, I said no thank you, I would have to come back later then. I started walking towards the door to leave when I heard him say to another customer, "Some people don't realize that this is a holiday weekend and they have to wait." I turned and went back to him and told him it wasn't at all polite to talk behind customers backs and that I would like his name. He told me Chris, then I asked for his last name and leaned over the counter and loudly and sarcastically said Lloyd and and even louder said L-L-O-Y-D! (He spelled it out). If this is indicative on how Verizon stores treat their long time customers in their stores it might be time to change carriers. went in for an upgrade the two girls at the front of the store were too busy talking about other people... and once my name was taken was told go to the back.. technical, really? I was here for an upgrade ... I left with nothing cause I was short of time... the bulk of it waiting.. the salesman was informative and handed me his card if I had any questions.. I did and called and was at an automated site where once I got through to a "real live" was not the gentleman in the card but customer service representative (female)... I used to love this Verizon store... I live closer to the Succasunna branch and went out of my way to come to the Rockaway branch ... think I'll opt for convenience if I'm treated like less than a priority... read more

I had a bad experience with an employee, Evelyn about a year ago. I went into the store again today and was aggressively greeted by Evelyn at the door. I sought out another associate because of my prior experience. When I explained to the manager why I wanted to work with someone else, Evelyn made rude comments. The manager said he would handle it, but never even approached her the entire time I was in the store - never even went over to tell her to stop the comments. I did get to work with an excellent associate, Mike, who was very helpful. I would have walked out of the store but I badly needed a new phone ASAP and didn't want to drive all over North Jersey to do so. read more

About time I found a verizon with their sh!t in order, I waited more than an hour just to talk to someone at the Woodbridge location about returning an item and the store was empty , needless to say I left there with no answers and a lunch break with no lunch. I walked into the rockaway location and the place was packed... Jennifer greeted me within 60 seconds and began helping me with my issues, side by side with Alicia they had me in and out in 5 minutes and saved verizon from losing my business!!! Verizon wireless does give you the best wireless coverage at a very high price. So if your willing to pay you will have know complaints, However if you visit the store don't expect to get much guidance or support. The store manager is horrifying. She yelled to the store in general that I was not knowledgable and it was not her job to help me. I asked what her job was then..... she said to help customers. I said I am customer, then she said it was her job to watch the store ???????????? So if you need help and the people on the floor don't have answer don't ask for the manager. Ive never been posessed to write such a scathing review. Ive been to this store three times to explain that my father passed away and I need to close his account. He had been a Verizon customer since cell phones became popular. This was almost two months ago and still NOTHING has been processed correctly. Still, im getting calls emails and letters that his bill is overdue and continues to be charged for services. Every employee I have spoken with was beyond cold and clearly was not listening to me. The two girls who checked me in the first time were giggling through my entire explanation and had no idea who I needed to speak with. The incompetence of the employees in this store is completely unacceptable especially considering how expensive Verizon is to begin with. I asked to speak to a manager on my third trip there and over walked the same idiot who attempted to close it the first time. Ive been to several other Veruzon stores for various things and they were always so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Stay away from this location. Update: I haven't been back to this location but wish I could update this to zero stars. My mother passed away and I called the customer service number to cancel her phone. I had an aurion replacement phone and needed help setting up my phone. This use to be a service provided since I was a customer since the Bell Atlantic days. It's now bear bones service. Maybe the sales people don't get paid to setup the phone but they did sell me the accessories in past and could have today sold me additional accessories.. The salesperson could not set up my email and I was told to contact the tech coach. My old phone was still in a case which was barely 4 months old. I struggle to get the case off and the sales person didn't offer to help me put the case on my replacement phone. I mentioned that I needed some accessories also. I'm sure he does this all day long so it would take a minute for him. I left the store feeling like the service of Verizon is now limited. Don't ask for help unless you are buying a new phone. I would dread this experience if it was my 88 year old mother in my shoes not being a tech person. I'm sorry Verizon is losing the customer touch. BEWARE!! Don't purchase a Lifeproof case from a non-corporate store like Verizon Wireless Express at the Rockaway Mall! Just found out I was scammed!! Since I didn't purchase the cases at a corporate store I can't register them for the complete warranty since non-corporate stores don't have a contact with Lifeproof for waterproofing. Paying the extra cost for a waterproof case is worthless!!! Could have purchased a Otterbox cheaper. These stores shouldn't be selling it as a waterproof case and say its warrantied since its NOT. Due your homework before you purchase ... I spent $180.00 on two case. Hillary was our sales girl who was pleasant, but management didn't know what they are talking about! ZERO STARS!! I never left a bad review in my life - but my god the Verizon wireless customer service is something to be ashamed of!! If you're thinking about switching to Verizon save yourself the stress and anxiety and stay far away. You get "service" everywhere except for the customer kind when you truly need it!!! I've been a customer for 15 years and my boyfriend has been a customer for over 20. Between the two of us, our iPhones, iPads a business account were giving them more than $500 a month and the ONLY two times that we've ever needed help with something - they've neglected to help either one of us. They truly do not care about their customers and have a really bad attitude, not to mention every time you call someone and speak to a different person, who usually doesn't speak English, the rules seem to change on what they are able to do for you! All they care about is getting as much money From you as they possibly can.. Without you noticing. They even tried to go as far as sneak in a "new" package trying to get us to blindly extend our contracts for another 2 years. Not to Mention the "extra $35/mo" they charged me by "mistake" the last 18 months, although I won't be getting a credit of any kind. I'm just going to assume if I underpaid by "mistake" even $1 they would be coming after me until I paid it. They know they are the largest company and they couldn't care less about helping their loyal longtime customers! Thank God both of our contracts are up in two months... See you never Verizon wireless! And their home cable and Internet package is not only extremely expensive but the worse yet - we already switched to optimum! Stay away!! I've never seen such rude, poor customer service in my life - I would never dream of treating people the way they do! I have been seeing this more and more as I get older with a lot of Companies.
