Went into this store in 2015 to buy my phone. Service agents were initailly friendly and somewhat helpful. Upon buying my phone they were very dodgy about how much it would all cost and they even alluded to me getting some of my accessories for "free". Long story short they basically charged me for 200 dollars worth of stuff I didn't need or really want, because they said it came with the plan I had. I have been a Verizon customer for several decades. Wanted a new phone (I had iPhone 6), went into store and asked about new iPhones. No one there told me a new iPhone 11 would be coming out in a couple of weeks). So I bought iPhone XR, Otter Popback case, wireless charger. First, case did not work with charger, so had to come back and exchange. Then found out 11 was coming out and they refused to swap because it was a few days past their 2 week return. I called VERIZON CUSTOMER SERVICE online and they were great. I now have iPhone 11. But they had advised my XR case would fit 11 - not so. Went back to store and they could not help me with a case. Said it had to be exact price exchange and they only had one case that I did not like. Their "system" cannot have an override for one I did like (but again, not exact price so they could not do). Told me to talk directly to the Otter case company instead (but I purchased at this store!!). I called VERIZON CUSTOMER SERVICE online and they could take care of it. DO NOT DEAL WITH THE STORE. THEY CANNOT PROVIDE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. GO ONLINE INSTEAD. I ALMOST LEFT VERIZON BECAUSE OF MY FRUSTRATION WITH THIS STORE, but because of Verizon online, I will stay. read more

Stay away from this store. They only care about up selling you on everything and not honest with the customer. I would recommend shopping around or go online where you can get the actual story and not have to buy useless accesories, etc that they insist you have to buy to get a new phone. This store has appalling customer service. It took them a long time to help me and I had to go to the desk even though they weren't all busy, just talking to each other. They all feel like car salesman and that they are all tricksters trying to throw pitches at you rather than trying to see what you actually need. They don't qualify you for anything, they see you as a paycheck not a person. I've gone in there and had three bad experiences out of three. I signed up for a 2 year plan on a Galaxy S6, a new Mophie case, screen protector, headphones, insurance plan, and an upgraded plan and when I said to the salesman ,"Sorry dude am I being annoying, I know nothing about all this stuff." He replied with,"Well customers usually don't as this many questions. Also I told the guy that I work for a company that Verizon gives a discount to if we sign up with them and he said, no don't worry about that I'm giving you a better deal right now, and made it sound like the deals couldn't be combined. I later found out after 2 and a half years of their service that I could have been getting my 20% off each month for two and a half years. I have been furious since. I can't believe the salesman lied to me, insinuated that I was putting him out (even though I spent about $1,000), and actually costed me money. The next time I went in for my discount I asked the gentleman at the desk when my discount would become active ( had my pay stubs in hand), he said oh should be about a month or two out, and if it's not just keep checking until you see it. Needless to say I wasn't impressed. I switched to another local company because they actually valued me as a customer and helped me out greatly. Although the service isn't as great (dropped calls) because I live high on a mountain, I will stay with them than EVER consider giving my business to a company that doesn't teach their employees the value of their customers. I literally laugh and shake my head every time someone says they have Verizon. Also this same rating will be on every rating site I can find as long as the Better Business Bureau. I don't know who is manager this store or how he/she trains these people but it is beyond unacceptable. Also every opportunity I get I will consistently talk people out of investing in Verizon. Lastly, I have NO IDEA how there are so many 5 star ratings on their Google ratings page, unless these people are getting their friends to hop on here and rate them so highly. They totally suck, do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE ELSE. Hope you took the time to read this and save yourself a headache. read more

I was nervous about replacing my lost phone here due to the reviews. I have to say that I have been in this store twice and have only received great service. Jessica helped me purchase an upgrade that was actually cheaper than my old phone. She also was patient and explained how to transfer my information. One of the worst sales representative experiences of my life. I wouldn't update my plan because I full well knew it was a ripoff according to online sites. They brought over other sales representatives to strong-arm me into buying the new plan and accessories. I kept saying "no, thanks though". They would then get together, look at me, keep looking over at me, laugh and snigger to each other (in the most condescending way). I asked for and walked over to the store manager, told him about it and he completely brushed it off saying they were probably joking about something else. I don't complain, but had to say again and again to them "please, I do not want this new service, I want to keep my old service with my new phone and go". They said okay, started to sign me up for whatever. I looked on my phone for another Verizon store. Found one on Sunset. I then told the current Verizon store to stop the transaction and that "I will tell everyone I know to never do business here, write reviews, etc.". I headed over to the Sunset store. They were the most honest and sweet people. I wish I remembered the guy's name that helped me there, but he did not bull-con me; just was helpful and honest. River rd. will purposely rip you off and they don't care, they're pretty much spiteful if you don't go along with their swindling. read more

Kyle, the store manager, stayed with me and my family for a couple hours while we tried to figure out a new plan and new phones. He went above and beyond by helping us send in our rebate information and pictures. He even installed helpful apps for our phones. Really bad costumer experience. A complete lack of honesty from the sales representatives made us purchase unnecessary accessories under the guise that they were free. The store receipt didn't break down the whole purchase; it wasn't until we reviewed the online receipt that we realized we had been charged for all the accessories. When we went back to the store to return them, we were unable to return the screen protector because it had already been put on the phone (by the sales rep's own initiative, without explaining that once on the phone it could not be returned). Despite saying they could not return it, it was deducted from the bill and added back on at a higher price. The other accessories could be returned, but they claimed that nobody would ever tell us they were free but that this was a common misunderstanding with customers (which reflects poorly on them, not the customers). Even if there had been a "misunderstanding" when we said "wow we can't believe all these accessories are free!" that would have been the sales rep's chance to clarify. Summary: dishonest and care only about selling as much as possible without respect for customer satisfaction. I have used multiple verizon stores in Boston and never had an issue. Avoid this store. read more
