Eric is the worst person that I've ever hired. Avoid him at all cost. You will save yourself money…read more I will be sueing him later this week in NYC small claims court. Below is what happened: Eric came to one of my units and reglazed the bathtub. I didn't ask him to remove the window and paint it but he offered for a $50 fee. I told him yes if he thinks he can place it back safely. After removing the window, painting it, he left it on the floor for me to reinstall. I paid him in full and gave him a $200 tip. When I tried to reinstall it, I could not get the window back into the frame so I called him back to place the window back into the frame, basically leave it how you found it. When he came back he broke my window, taped it, said nothing to me and left. When I discovered the window was broken he then admitted that he broke the window and offered to pay for it. I had a few people come see the window and they all said, it could only be replaced and I was quoted $630 to replace the window. When I sent Eric the quote this is the message he sent me. Its in the screenshot as well. "What? No way is that I accept you yalking to me like that. Now out emotions aside. Facts: 1. You were planning your throw this window out and get a new one instead. I offered you to keep it and try to relive. The deal was I said these exact words: let's me try to make it look better. If you like you keep it, if not it's just $50. Yiu and your partners said ok. So I owe nothing 2. I gave you the maximim discount in my job which you didn't appreciate and came ungratefu to me, was undeserved... 3. It was not my job to put those windows back to place. We never agreed in that. I came and did it, without thank you it here's small tip for the gas or time i soend to doybke douwn my kindness 4. I gave you my trust offering you the warranty to fix reglazing if something happens to it for free. Something nibidy else would offer to you. And something always might happen trust me, with tenants or contractors. 5. Based in your attitude and disrespect to my hard work and kindness, you are offering me that if some light touch up you will need I will have to charge you $659 for it. Ok i will 6. Read and think this all please. Then read this back again" Eric has now blocked me. The most shocking part about this is that while Eric was working, I offered to order food for him, and also offered him water. When he was done, I gave him a $200 tip though the work was mediocre. I tipped him because I always tip people. I have to cover the cost of replacing the window now but I hope to reconcile this in court.
