Not a lot of crowds, plenty of places to have a picnic if that's your thing. The flowering trees are already dropping their leaves and turning green. Tulips are starting to sprout up everywhere. I like coming here to take take photos and hang out. I'm teaching my kids how to photograph and working on their posing skills.

The hike itself is fairly simple and shouldn't take more than an hour. It is more of a nice walk to get to an awesome view of the surrounding area. If you are up for a little more adventure you can explore the rock formations and caves that are right next to the view. This is definitely a good place for beginner hikers to go but still has a view that all skills would love to see.

"No littering or smoking!" It's unfortunate this is something that needs to be posted but humans love to leave their trash and destroy all things natural and beautiful. Needless to say, whatever you bring up with you should also return down with you. The hike up is only 10-15 minutes depending on your speed with a few moderately steep areas. Closer to the top there are larger steps (rocks) requiring a little bit of climbing to hoist yourself onto the very tip top of the overlook. Very peaceful and very few people on the weekdays.

Funded by the local parents, this space has…read moreeverything a kid could want in a playground--- jungle gyms for little & older kids, rock climbing walls, low-zipline (sit and stand versions), outdoor musical instruments, a playhouse, and a variety of swings (toddler, special needs, older kids and a large one for a group)!! There's even a Free Library kiosk to encourage reading (take a book, leave a book). Bathrooms on site will be a welcome relief to parents (pun intended). We stopped by here after grabbing lunch in the area, what an awesome find. Fortunately, it's within walking distance to a deli and coffee shop. Hope to come here again... best free entertainment for the kiddos.

Perhaps even more noticeable is is persistent laughter. It is contagious. Every time the trains go by he runs up to the bordering fence (there's a lot of distance, a road and trees and another fence) to wave hello and goodbye. He plays well in the sandbox and loves walking around the perimeter. But enough about my child. This place is spacious! Plenty of parking. There's tennis and hockey courts, the playground, sandbox, fountain. There's plenty of benches to sit and spectate. Also there are some baseball and soccer fields and bleachers. Now, where's the restroom?

This is a nice easy set of trails, flat or gentle hills. The forest and grassland areas are quite…read morenice. For the most part, the trails are well maintained, although I do think the trail markings/signage could be clearer. I started at the kiosk trail head and the first turnoff for the trail can be easy to miss(in fact, I did.) The initial part of the trail is nice dark gravel, but it veers into a field where the trail is just a mown path and the sign for the turnoff is an unassuming post with orange and green squares on it tucked back into the growth. Also at one point off the blue loop, I ended up in a strange area with farm equipment with a sign posted about private property. So I turned back to the loop. I never even saw how to get to the white or red trails. So what I saw was nice but I'd like to come back and try to find what I missed. Maybe I'm just hopelessly directionally challenged. I did take a picture of the map at the trailhead but still found parts confusing. I saw a fox following the paths several times, which was pretty exciting:) There was a pool, playground and community garden but I didn't really check those out.
