I dropped my blazer off on February 1 and was told it would be ready on February 10 after 4pm. It wasn't. I stopped by on the morning of February 28 and there was a handwritten sign by the cash register stating they were ten days behind and asking customers to please be patient. Even though my blazer had been there for a month, it wasn't ready but the cashier stated it would be done that afternoon after 4pm. Because I live thirty minutes away, I tried to phone the dry cleaner at 772-226-5469 to confirm my blazer was ready for pickup. Three attempts to phone the business and all calls went to a full mailbox unable to accept messages. After a thirty minute drive a face to face conversation with a newly hired cashier confirmed that my blazer was not ready for pickup. Apparently the receptionist I spoke to earlier in the day had quit. Today, March 3, there is no customer service via phone as their mailbox is still full. After a thirty minute drive I find at 11:30am that their front doors are locked. A hand written sign indicates that they open later in the morning, close earlier in the afternoon and are closed between 11am and 2pm. While I write this review a half dozen other customers are expressing to me their disappointment with Vero Beach Dry Cleaners. Before doing business with this company, I would suggest phoning them. If they answer the phone that might be a good sign. If you don't get an answer or your call gets transferred yo a full mailbox, let that serve as your warning. read more

Negative reviews notwithstanding, I decided to try Vero Beach Dry Cleaners based upon the recommendation of a friend. Big mistake that I won't make again. Prior to visiting the first time, I researched area dry cleaners. Having recently moved from Fort Lauderdale, I needed a new dry cleaner. From the website, Vero Beach Dry Cleaners offered the very best price. Not the "one price" dry cleaner I used for years, but the cheapest I could find in Vero Beach. On my first visit, I dropped off a business suit and four shirts. According to the website, business shirts were $2.30 each and two-piece business suits were $10.95. I was told to return in two days for my clothes. Upon my return, I was shocked to learn that the business suit was $14.50 and the shirts were roughly $5 to $7 each. I was told by the clerk that the website hadn't been updated in "quite some time" and that a few of the shirts required "special handling" thereby resulting in a higher price. I asked to speak with a manager and was told that she had left for the day. I advised that I wasn't paying the substantially higher price. After all, the shirts were more than twice the posted website price. The suit was about $4 more. At that point, the clerk telephoned her manager, Rachel, and explained my concerns. After hanging up the phone, the clerk advised that Rachel authorized her to adjust the shirt prices but not the suit as the price menu posted at the business had the current and correct price. Rather than start an argument, I accepted the price adjustment, paid what was due, and left with my clothes. It's a shame that this occurred and that I wasn't notified of the potential "special handling" fees for hand care when dropping off my order. After all, the clerk knew I was a brand new customer. I took clothes 1/26/2022, they said they were going to be ready by Feb 04, nine days after drop date. My wife was planning to use them by Feb 06, so I agree to it. Feb 04 they were not ready. I was told to come back Feb 10. Went back Feb 11 and still they were not done. Asked the older lady at the counter (by the way she didn't want to give me her name) to give me the clothes back because I want to take them to another place. She said it was going to be impossible because they didn't have the time to look for them. She said the sooner they can find the clothes will be Monday Feb 14. I gave her instructions not to clean my clothes and I will be back to pick them up to take them to another cleaner. I went to pick them up Feb 16 and they have the clothes cleaned and asked me to pay close to $30 for four (4) blouses. First the slip receipt they give you doesn't show the price they are going to charge, and also shows a legend to see terms and conditions of service at the back of the receipt. This is pretty pathetic from apparently the largest Dry Cleaning establishment in Vero Beach. I promptly left and went to the smaller, but infinitely nicer 5th Ave. Dry Cleaners around the corner. They destroy your clothes and still charge you for the cleaning, and then they refuse to replace or pay for it. They also tell you they have to send the clothing "to the lab" to get analyzed to make sure the reason they destroyed it was not due to a "manufacturing defect" and "the analysis" can take up to 30 days. Owner was rude and insulting and took him over 2 weeks to return calls regarding the clothing his store destroyed....at my expense. This last time I went to pick up a Blazer and noticed there were stains under the arms that weren't there when I dropped it off. I asked them to look into that further. I went back today to get my blazer and nothing had changed. When I asked why, I was informed that "that just happens sometimes". When I asked to be educated on why, there was a double down with no information.... The attendant got the manager and it was the manager's tone that warrants this review. So sad. I brought an old favorite of mine, a cashmere/wool blend dress, to be cleaned here. The dress had a natural cinched waist which was done through what appears to be specialized ironing of some sort. I had had this dress dry cleaned before in another country with no problems, but took it here and the waist completely fell out. It now looks like a shapeless sack. I called and the person whom I spoke with said that it was a "manufacturing defect". How can it be a manufacturing defect when a) it has been dry cleaned before with no problems, and b) it happened AFTER being dry cleaned? Obviously the cleaning caused it to be ruined; otherwise, the dress would have been fine. Since it is an older garment, there is really nothing I can do about it. I would have at least appreciated an offer to pay back the cost of dry cleaning the dress, but there was no such offer. The owner did offer to write a letter to the manufacturer, but the dress is too old and though I've tried desperately, I cannot find the original company it was manufactured by. As a customer service business, it would have just been easier and better if the dry cleaning company had offered to pay back the cost of dry cleaning the garment. read more

I wish I could give a "NO STAR" rating of this place. I've been using them for a couple of years now and always felt the girls at the counter were being put out by servicing me but it's convenient for me so I kept going back. The last straw came recently when my husband went to put on his Tommy Bahama linen shirt and noticed a white spot on the front of it where the color was faded. The shirt still had a tag on the spare button that said it had a spot on it in this same area that was treated by the cleaners. I took the shirt back to them (unworn, clean and pressed) pointed out the issue and they took it along with a couple of other items. I picked my things up a few days later and when I got home, I looked at the linen shirt and see the spot is still there. The shirt had been tagged again, this time with a tag that said it was defective and that someone had spoken to me and I gave permission to go ahead and clean the shirt. This is totally untrue...no one had EVER called me about ANYTHING. Why would I take it back in to have it cleaned again when it had never been worn? I've spent the last two days trying to rectify this issue and all I'm getting from them is a hassle. They're telling me their records show that they've only had this shirt once and I guess I'm lying about the first tag I saw on it. I will tell everyone I know about this issue and boy, do I wish I had checked reviews before I ever gave them a dime. We're out a new $100.00 Tommy Bahama linen shirt now. EPIC FAIL. read more

DO NOT USE - IF I COULD GIVE O STARS I WOULD. This dry cleaners they do not have respect for their customers. They are rude & very disrespectful. They have what they call "EXPRESS SERVICE" if you do not pick up your cleaning by 11am the day they say it's ready they charge you an additional $1.00 per piece. I dropped off some cleaning on a Wednesday afternoon around 12:30PM they said it would not be ready until Friday at 4pm - I asked if I could have it in the morning instead & the person who waited on me she couldn't guarantee that it would be back in the morning. So Friday morning at 10:45am I called & spoke with the clerk & she said it was there. I explained that I could not pick up at 11am but I would be there in about an hour. I arrived at 12:05pm Friday & they charge me an additional $1.00 per item I had 8 items so an additional $8.00 even after I gave them a heads up. It clearly shows how terrible there's customer service is so I thought I would post it word for word of their response. Your husband was given the following information: The cleaning label said handwash and your husband was explained the entire process. The rhinestone belt that was attached would probably not withstand the cleaning process, at which point your husband stated you had more of it at home. He was informed of the price and the time it would take.He was asked to sign a release of liability, which he did so. He was not forced to leave your dress.Maybe if you were so concerned about your dress, you should have been the one to bring it in and get the information first hand. In all of your postings, you have failed to mention that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the dress after cleaning. The only thing that was " wrong " was the rhinestone belt which was then detached and put in a bag for you. Personally, the dress looked much better without the belt. I brought cotton slacks in for laundry and specifically told them NOT to dry clean them. The tag said "DO NOT DRY CLEAN". They dry cleaned them anyway and the slacks were covered with light spots. They would not take responsibility!!! Said it was my fault and I must have brought them in that way. And they had the audacity to be nasty about it!! I also had several other items in the order and a button was torn off one shirt and a seam was torn on another. I will NEVER go there again. They ruin your clothes!!! Short version- Very poor customer service. Ruined my clothes and ultimately told me there is nothing they could do. They gave me my ruined clothes back and told me to have a nice day. Long version- Had a formal dress dry cleaned & got a phone call saying there was a problem with the dress. When I got the dress back, which was in perfect condition when I gave it to them, the entire neckline of beads was gone. And the beads didn't just fall off. They were now stuck in different places on the dress and the fabric was stuck to itself. When I went in the cleaners told me there was no care label or RN# in the dress but that the owner was an expert and knew that type of fabric was to be dry cleaned so they did and that the only reason the beads would come off like that is because they were defective. I was told I should find a receipt for the dress or find out where it came from and mentioned reimbursement as a solution. Luckily for me I had borrowed the dress from a friend and took it to get cleaned before I returned it to her. Now on top of having a ruined dress on my hands, I had to ask my friend if she had a receipt for the dress. She did not, so I went back to the cleaners with the dress & with no receipt but I did find the RN#. Cleaners said they would look into it and call me. No call. 1 Week later I go in. No one knows what the status is of the dress and the owners are out of town so I leave my name & number for when they return. 2 weeks go by-no call, so I go in again. Now they say they just got the dress back from the seamstress and couldn't find any black beads to replace the ones on the dress but did manage to remove the beads that were stuck on the fabric. They gave the dress back with strings hanging and no beads, and said that's all they can do. Wow! read more

I recently had 2 curtain panels dry cleaned. When I picked them up, they were 3 1/2" shorter. I called to talk to the owner (Mr. Otto?). He was out of town, but a woman name Cynthia called me back. She was very rude. Told me that they shrink 8 out of 10 drapery panels, not to come there anymore and that I was just looking for something for "free." Really, free? I just wanted my curtains cleaned and not shrunk. She said they were "professionals" but professional wouldn't have an 80% shrink rate! Also, if you shrink something 80% of the time maybe you should tell the customer that before they leave their items. I would never have left my drapes there if they told me that there was only a 20% chance that they would turn out fine. I read two other reviews boy are they wrong. Been using this cleaner for several months and I think it might be the best cleaner I have ever been into.I tried several other cleaners in Vero and they were filthy, staff dirty and run down buildings. This Vero Beach Cleaners was the cleanest dry cleaner I have seen in five states, wide open so you can see everything, staff all in uniforms, cloths came back as promised, bright colors and nice and fresh. Best I have ever seen and I use a cleaners every week. Extremely professional. You should investigate the cleaners in Vero Beach before you leave your personal belongings and the decide like I did. Also the place was packed with clothes and customers. I go to their Modernage store. read more
