This is my first time getting eyelash extensions and I'm so happy with the way they turned out! I found this place through a couple coworkers of mine telling me they bought a Groupon for one full set of mink lash extensions including a fill after 2-3 weeks. It was a reasonable price so I decided to cave in. The Groupon is Verona Skin Therapy and Beauty Spa - Marie Iroegbu for those of you who want to know! Anyways, the process takes about an hour and a half, depending on how full you want your lashes to be, so clear your day in advance. While Marie was applying my lashes I felt a stinging pain, which I guess is normal because of the glue so don't be scared like I was. Lol I also fell asleep through half the process, it may seem like a long time, but it goes by quick. Afterwards, Marie was very kind and helpful with informing me on how to take care of my lashes and scheduling me for my fill. I purchased a Groupon for a set and one fill. I am disappointed that the lashes just did not work out. I got them on a Wednesday night, and by Sunday they were completely gone on one eye - yeah, four days. I am not sure if I just had a poor reaction, but even when I woke up two days later there were lashes scattered all over my face. I also felt very unprepared for my appointment. I was not told I had to take my contacts out or that I should have removed my makeup prior to the appointment, making me scared that maybe that's why the glue didn't hold. I contacted and was hoping for an apology and an offer to fix them, but was just told "sorry it didn't work out". I have cancelled the Fill appointment I had scheduled. I wish I could write a good review of the Groupon Lash Extension offered by Marie, but I've had such a challenging time scheduling an appointment with her, I decided to contact Groupon and request a refund. After 2 weeks of no call backs and no reply on text messages, I cannot support or even recommend this service. Personally, I see this as incredibly unprofessional and a poor reflection on Verona Spa as a whole. *The Groupon and the Verona website do not state that Marie is vacationing and will not be able to schedule appointments. Additionally, the Verona website states Groupon eyelash extensions are schedule 3 weeks out, not that it takes 3 weeks to make an appointment. read more

Second time getting my lash extentions ever and Marie did a great job. I was very comfortable and I didn't have any pain or burning like I did at another location I went to. They also have facials and waxing (full body and Brazilian). Staff is very friendly. It's an older building and pretty chilly in there so I do recommend a sweat shirt if it's a cold day. Also don't forget to tip the esthetician on the FULL PRICE of the procedure. For example, you bought a Groupon for $70 but the procedure costs $150. Tip between $20 and $30. They only receive about 50% of the profits from Groupon. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! I bought a Groupon over 2 months ago and had my appt schedule for today(10/18) at 5pm. Obviously that is a ridiculous amount of time to wait to be seen and should be noted on groupon for their wait time (but that's another issue). I texted the lady at 3:00pm today to see if my appointment for 5pm could be moved up and to my surprise I got a respond that she couldn't see me until 7:00pm. EXCUSE ME!! I sent an e mail requesting an appointment for eye lash extensions. I was also checking out their Groupon selection; but when I wanted to make an appointment, the Very First response was: give us your credit card number and we will give you an appointment, signed by a Dr. Verona. When I questioned if they could accommodate my preferred date, again, the answer was submit your credit card number prior to even answering my request. When I mentioned I was thinking of using a Groupon-the conversation suddenly became weird- only 1 person (who would not be available for 3 weeks) was the only one honoring Groupon. When I checked this, Dr Joyce Pontillas, ND -SHE is not an MD!! I don't know what kind of scam this place is trying to sell, but there is no Medical Doctor supervising these treatments. They want your money up front then tell you they have no openings for 3 weeks. Sheesh, are you kidding me. I was visiting from San Diego and my skin did not like the dryness of Reno. My mom suggested Verona Skin near Reno High School so I made an appointment with Marie and saw her two weeks ago for a facial. It was so relaxing that I actually fell asleep. It also helped my acne. She cleaned my pores and hydrated my skin, and the next day, my face already looked a lot better. Marie also does lash extensions and she was so awesome to fill mine. Marie did a great job on new extensions and fill. Scheduling changed quite a bit but I'm flexible so it wasn't a problem. Little fan at the end kept my eyes from watering and my lash extensions were even prettier after the full than to begin with. I get a lot of compliments and my boyfriend thinks I'm wearing makeup because the c curve lashes dress up my entire face. Went to Aesthetics Med Spa with a Groupon just to check it out. Waited over 30 minutes after scheduled appointment time, extremely uncomfortable and downright painful at times, and unlike Marie, instead of looking like eyeliner, it just looked gloppy. Went back two weeks later for a fill and was told it would take more than a fill as there was breakage and eyelashes falling out. With Marie, lashes lasted over a month, not just two weeks. To give Aesthetics credit, I got in a few minutes early for second appointment and the "fill" was much less painful than the work done two weeks earlier. Stick with Marie for on time, comfortable, lasting eyelashes that look great from day one. read more

I just had the second facial of my life (I'm 50 this year and have always had very sensitive skin) and was amazed at how great my skin felt leaving Joyce's office. It was not irritated, red or painful. She told me what type of facial she would recommend and I followed her direction. I am glad I did. My skin feels softer and cleaner than I ever remember having it feel, it feels... how do I describe it....it feels not really tingly.... but it feels ALIVE!. Bought a groupon, knowing that it was going to be a while to book an appointment, I called the day of purchase and left my phone number with the receptionist to schedule the appointment. 2 weeks after I left my message, Marie contacted me by a text message. We scheduled an appt for April 11th (only had to wait a month, surprising!), I had to reschedule the appointment, and tried to contact Marie for a new appt time. Marie texted me a new appt date of May 5, but with no time given. (again only 2 weeks out!) I continually texted her back for a time on May 5, and got no response. This went on for 2 weeks until on May 2nd I still had not heard back and my new appt date was approaching but still had no definite time confirmed for May 5. Still no response. I had no problem with waiting, just would have appreciated a call back, or text with a time along with the date. I finally decided to contact Groupon for a refund, and the Groupon Rep stated they had NUMEROUS people complain about this particular company and apologized for the problems. Before booking we exchanged text messages, which was very convenient. I felt the way she responded was unprofessional, calling me "lady" and acted like I was her pal. In one single text I had to confirm Multiple times if I even had an appointment. Upon arriving she was late but it was no sweat to me. Things happen. During the appointment, her intake was reasonable. She didn't mention prior to my arrival to take my contacts out and so it made the process for eyelashes extensions uncomfortable. Something that would have been good to know. I asked her to wear gloves and she felt hesitant but I explained to her it would make me feel more comfortable. I told her about a past experience and through half the session she kept bringing it up. It was pretty annoying. After about a week and half, almost half of my lashes have fell out and I now have open Spots. I've had lashes before and never had these issues. Last to add, the place looks run down. An old blanket that looks like it falling apart, white sterile walls, she didn't even play any music. I was afraid if her environment was even sterile???!! It took a while to write this review because I needed to do some research and some comparisons. Stay AWAY from Mink lashes number one and I would also find another Aesthetic. The person who owns this spa (Joyce) keeps making excuses for Maria's unprofessional behavior and blames Groupon for the way Maria handles her clients when there is no excuse for the way she communicates with people. My friend and I had a very difficult time with her texts she changed the time on us when we went to confirm. It was very confusing. I ended up with Maria and my friend had Amber. My friend liked her lashes, mine were horrible with gaps in them. I texted Maria to fix them and got no response. I finally had to make my fill appointment very much earlier just to try and get them to look okay. A week later they started to clump together. I now have Exteme Lashes and I drive the Fernley to get them done. They are fluffy and last three weeks. The Mink were spiked after only 10 days and they were glued together and pulled on my lids. I went overboard to keep them dry taking a bath for three days. And did everything that was recommended to keep them nice. I researched on line and followed all the tips to make sure it wasn't me who did something wrong. I found out it depends on the products the person uses and the skill. Using cheap adhesive will cause them to stick together. This is what I think is going on when Maris is applying these Mink lashes. Maria needs to start treating clients better and start playing attention to her skill and start using better products. Also the owner needs to stop making excuses for her lank of professionalism. Word gets around. I would stay away from Mink. They are a cheaper product which is why I think they are offered on Groupon. I see now they are offering them for super cheap. You get what you pay for. This isn't Groupon's problem this is Maria's and Verona's. read more
