When a house suddenly came available for us to get in on quickly, she was very quick with communication both on our end and with the builder. She made sure that we were the first in on this home because she knew it wouldn't last. Plus her standing positive relationship with the builder helped us out immensely to get in on it before the house even hit the market! Additionally, she celebrated the victories throughout the process including when out offer was accepted on this house and when we accepted an offer on the house we we selling, even though we were working with another realtor in another city for that sale. Lastly, Carmen did everything she could to help take the stress off of us. I was 6 months pregnant during the time we found a house and were closing. She did what she could to take things off of my to-do list to help make my life less stressful. She went above and beyond in this area. We were asked to pay double the standard security deposit, which we complied with in good faith. Despite this, Lisa withheld a substantial portion of our deposit and provided vague charges that appear to cover normal wear and tear, which is not legally deductible under Texas law. We followed up with a formal written dispute and have received no response whatsoever. Due to the lack of communication and what we believe to be unjustified deductions, we are now taking legal action as a matter of principle. Tenants have rights, and landlords should be held accountable to the laws that protect them. I met a great guy, who lived too far out of Austin and convinced him to move to Austin to date me (we're married now so it was worth it his time).
