Shapes is an all women's gym with a brand new location in Meridian ID. I signed up with a group of girlfriends last week and have been thanking myself ever since. Shapes has the kindest employees, trainers & management and every single employee who I've interacted with has been super warm, welcoming and engaged with the members who come in. They're so anxious to help and support women and you can tel they genuinely love what they do! I've tried group classes with Cheryl, Marissa and April and all 3 have been phenomenal and upbeat with a contagious, positive approach to leading group classes with ages, bodies and abilities of all types. I've appreciated that all 3 of these teachers have shared modifications for allowing guests to go at either an easier or harder pace, depending on their varying needs. My favorite part of the group classes has been that the workout room has positive affirmations and mantras posted on the walls that are so encouraging and lifting. Who doesn't need to be reminded of their worth as they work hard, making time for themselves! The price is unbeatable for what they offer - gym equipment to run, lift & bike, an infrared sauna, a stocked locker room with showers and essentials, full access to all group classes with a variety of classes and times starting early in the morning and often even having night time classes offered too! I can see same dirty spots for weeks without being touched. 2. Treadmill - I used to see staff wiping off treadmills. I no longer see this. The TV screens are frozen on many channels or not working. 3. Lifting machines- I never see any staff wiping them off. When this was Axiom they would be constantly cleaning them. I could go on and on. Overall a major decline in general cleanliness and maintenance. I have pointed out issues to front desk and staff but they don't appear to be interested. I continue to be a member because it's close by. I worry about flu and COVID anytime I touch anything here.

There's a real lack of professionalism and basic customer service here. It feels like they're more concerned with control than creating a welcoming or motivating environment. There are plenty of other gyms in the area with better equipment, better attitudes, and far better respect for their members. Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere that values your goals and respects your time.

I came in and asked about cancellation and some skinny dude in a grey tshirt told me I have to cancel online. I look online in the app. And can't find anything. Eventually I got a joint bank account with my husband and they no longer had access to my card. They have been charging me ever since without even notifying me ONCE. Then threaten me with a 800 dollar balance and collections and tell me if I don't pay the 800 then I can't cancel. And the fees will just keep racking up. I haven't even stepped foot into that gym in a year and a half almost. When I explained to them that I tried to cancel in person they completely ignored me and threatened me again saying they were gonna keep charging me until I paid it. ALSO there's so many people that go here you have to wait for most of the machines. It's not a "luxury" gym so for as much as the cost is per month it's not worth it. Idaho fitness is a great gym. Leave this gym to the bodybuilders/competitors . And that's who they should be marketing to and weaseling into a contract like this. Bad business ethics

I was nervous coming into TFS the first time, but that was quickly washed away as soon as I walked in - Stormie greeted me and made sure I knew where everything was and then proceeded to give a run down of the Mega before class. The attentiveness from all the instructors during each class is top notch. Making sure the each of us not only understands the moves, has the correct form, but also that our mental game is just as strong. If they see us struggling they are the first to encourage us to keep going and that might be the hardest part of the entire 45 minute class. I love this community that Taylor has created and am so grateful to have found a place where I am not only challenged every visit, but comfortable in my own skin again. Thank you TFS fam

It was ridiculous the run around for my scooter it's small and electric only goes 20 so not like the big crazy gas ones. Well not really disappointed except to feel discriminated against. The YMCA in West Boise offers a great experience for any newcomer to the gym or long time veterans who are just coming in to work out.

We went on a Saturday and the big pool had a swim meet so it was closed which was fine, but it wasn't posted anywhere. So we went in the other two pools. The problem is, we called ahead to get information since we'd never been before & at the front desk reiterated we had never been so wanted to make sure we were good to go info. However, the staff at the front desk was unpleasant and offered almost no information. You must have your ID with you which we had to go 20 minutes back for and was not told that on the phone. We brought 4 kids, two that can swim and two that can't yet so we borrowed life jackets and they swam for almost an hour in the non kiddie pool only to be told you can't be in here even with a life jacket so they kicked them out into the kiddie pool. Then they kept asking for necklaces which we didn't know what that meant and finally a lifeguard said they tell us if they can swim or not. This was an hour in style that point and they'd been swimming without them. The signage to the pools is atrocious and unclear. The bathrooms were dirty as were multiple spots in the pool. I even asked about memberships for the future, & the front desk person said "oh idk you'll need to call the manager" and walked away. I'm glad it was only $4 because it was a very stressful experience and next time we want to take the kids swimming, I think we will find somewhere else.
