I highly recommend Vessel for co-working. It's a hip space in the For the City building on St John's with solid amenities: daily all-you-can-drink cold brew coffee from Barrett's and free breakfast from rotating local spots on Wednesdays! Best of all, though, are the people. Everyone's very relaxed and respectful, and Beth and Steven truly make Vessel a "mom and pop" operation with their friendly and supportive management. My associate left an honest facebook review about repeated short comings from Vessel co-working. Instead of owning any fault or asking how they can improve their customer service, Beth Knapp retaliated by sending me a passive aggressive email terminating my membership. I have never done business where someone's default response is to behave like a child when confronted with the truth. That is not how business is done. As a result, of the games Vessel tried to play, I had to contact vendors and stop checks that were in the process of being sent to me which ultimately caused me to get paid later. I also had to have business cards and other media reprinted at MY expense, since I could no longer use Vessel's. Beth Knapp will likely give a shady response to this review (as she has done in the past) without apology or a REFUND but do not be fooled. read more

Came in for the day and couldn't have had a better experience. When I arrived, Steven, the owner gave me a tour. Him and his wife run the place together and they are very welcoming. There are plenty of open spaces as well as big tables and private areas to fit any working need. My favorite space was the call booths. Everything is well decorated and the snack-bar is a great bonus too :) Would definitely consider joining if are looking for a co-working space in the area! read more

Very cool shared workspace. It's big enough to feel spacious and has all of the facilities one would need but it's not too big. The people are cool but serious about getting their work done. It's more of a mature group most with some significant and on point experience. It has a very healthy, positive and somewhat spiritual atmosphere. read more

This place is so, so great. I get more done here in 3 hours than I would otherwise in an 8 hour day working from home, bouncing around coffee shops, or even at a university library. It's never overly crowded, the members are friendly but ultimately super focused on their work, noise level is appropriately conversational but considerate, everything is kept almost meticulously clean and tidy throughout the day, and there's cold brew and kombucha on tap. The overall aesthetic is eclectic but minimalist, yet also somehow super warm and cozy at the same time? JUST TAKE MY MONEY. I needed a place to start working ASAP, and since I'm the kind of person to pull the trigger pretty quickly if something feels right, after a brief walk-through, I handed Beth my card for a 2 day per week membership and she had me walking out of there within 5 minutes with my access card and membership immediately effective. Efficiency in a business is a HUGE plus for me because if it starts taking too long or becomes a hassle to simply give you my money and walk away with my purchase, I'm over it and on to the next. Time is money, right? ;) Within a week I decided to upgrade my membership to a full 24/7 access plan, and again, it took ONE phone call and in the shake of a lamb's tail Beth had processed everything with the info she already had on file and I was on my merry little way. Sometimes I wonder if I'm too generous with my reviews since it feels like I'm always giving out 5 stars, but then when I see that I've only written 4 reviews in the SEVEN years I've had this account, I feel validated that my ratings are justified. Coming from a tough (but fair) critic, if I'm ever compelled to actually take the time to write a review, it's because the business is truly one of the best I've come across. Vessel is run seamlessly by two people who clearly care very much about the quality of their business, and I think that deserves all the gratitude and recognition in the world. I've been working at Vessel for over a month now and have really loved it. Finding an atmosphere where I'm comfortable and can get into a good work groove is so important, but what really gives Vessel the edge over other coworking spaces is the way they care for the people who work here. I feel like Vessel cares about my success as a freelancer. They offer monthly classes on different topics related to running your own business, which have been immensely helpful to me as I've only been freelancing for a year. These are also open to people outside of Vessel, which is how I initially became interested in working here. I've sat in on lessons on how to run my social media, navigating difficult client conversations, and even practical steps in filing my taxes as a self-employed person. Through these classes and the different random events Vessel likes to hold (example: a "Dia de los Muertos music festival" where they gave us wristbands and played music from dead musicians all day), this is a great place to network with people from different professions and backgrounds. People often go to lunch together on Wednesdays, and there are regular events scheduled to help facilitate community building among those who work here. I've been able to meet fellow filmmakers, web designers, lawyers, and non-profiteers, and am already collaborating on projects with other Vesselers. As a freelancer who works by herself, the community here has been invaluable to me and I have been so grateful for the sense of home and belonging working at Vessel. By far the best place in Austin for freelancers who need to get sh*t done. Co-worked here off and on for two years, and no where else compares to what I get done at Vessel. The place just has a vibe that encourages positive productive time. More tangibly, the wi-fi is great, the duck-in phone rooms mean you don't have to hunt for a quiet place to grab a call, and the conference room is yours for free as a member. The kitchen has snacks and drinks - including cold brew coffee on tap. Plus, the support team is super friendly and on-point, so you can adjust your plan or flex for meetings with no drama. My husband and I are both freelancers and have been working at Vessel for the last five months and have had great experience getting things done here. I would recommend it for individuals or even small teams who don't want to manage the overhead of an office. Things I love about it: - The open work space allows for some collaboration, but is not too loud. Sitting desks are interspersed with comfy chairs and a standing desk. We opted to pay a little extra to have a dedicated desk, which means my setup (monitors, keyboard, small cabinet, etc) is ready to go. - There are phone booths for conference calls and meeting areas for collaboration, which means you can get work done, but not have to worry about bothering those around you (and likewise not bothered by others) - There is a meeting room you can book for client meetings or workshops and the IT is easy to work - There is a lovely little kitchen with a large table which invites a feeling of community and with the lounge a nice way to get away from your desk during the day. Always good snacks and coffee (including Cuvee cold brew and beer when you're ready to kick back a bit). - The building has lots of cool community-oriented services in it, which is nice to see and there is plenty of parking. Easy access to I-35, 183, and Lamar. - Last but not least, the owners Steven and Beth are great. Since we've been working here, we saw the smooth transition from the previous owner Sarah who was also great. They are accessible, very open to feedback, and you can see are constantly working to keep members informed and adding nice touches to make the work experience great. read more

I really like co-working here. I just moved to town and my job (in my former town) let me stay on as a remote developer so I picked Vessel to rent a permanent desk. It's a really nice and modern building with tons of parking and great facilities. The wifi is great and it's nice and quiet. New people come in often so there's always people to meet along with the long-term people. They supply us with fresh hot coffee, cold-brew on tap, light snacks, and a fridge/freezer to store your own snacks. I actually am so much more productive here than I was at my HQ back in my old town. The place is accessible 24/7 so I can come in whenever I want, though it has the most traffic during normal working hours. Good price for the desk rental and nice space. I'll be sticking around a while to see how long my job will let me do this. read more

I have found my "creative sanctuary" in the City! I work out of the house, and my 2 year old is cared for out of the home ... and, these two things don't always go well together! I now have a 2-day a week membership to let me churn out a TON of work on my days out of the house. The hours are great, as I need to start my day early. It's quiet. It's clean. There are lovely windows to sit next to. There's music playing (just loud enough) in the background. The decor in the space is worthy of client visits. I just dropped in for one day. It's a standard coworking place. Larger than some. Nice kitchen table type area for eating, separated somewhat from the work area. Internet was fast. In addition to rows of office chairs (fairly comfortable), they have some couches, which is good because I like to move around during the day. I also saw some standing desks, but they were occupied by guys who seemed to be working with each other, so I don't know if anybody can use them or if they were dedicated. They had some soft music playing. Small offices that I got the impression anyone could step into for phone calls. Medium-sized conference room that I'm sure needed to be reserved - it looked really good. read more
