The only walk-in pedicure place in Paso that doesn't use latex gloves! (At least that I have found so far.) I'm allergic and always have a hard time explaining to other salons/spas. Very customer service oriented place, and from what I saw they are all very detail oriented, not just trying to get you in and out in a rush. The other thing I have noticed about this place is that everyone talks to each other. The manicurists talk to their clients, the clients start conversations with each other, or they jump right into the conversation you are having with your manicurist. To me, this is how it should be. I love this spa. They are cleaner than any of the average ones that I have been to. A very nice couple owns it and I have gotten to know them over the years. They have good parking and I recommend them all the time at my place of work. I recently had my nails removed (I had pink and white solar nails) and am trying to go back to natural. There was only a select few who did those and I usually got an appointment with the owner who usually never completed me but would pass me off to someone else. I usually didn't mind but it did get pretty annoying at times and she would answer the phone so my appointments alway took a little longer than say someone who wasn't constantly on the phone!! But it is more spa looking than your average chop shop. And like I said... if you are concerned about clealiness... this is the place to go! I really wanted to love this place. The atmosphere is very relaxing. I came as a walk-in for a gel manicure and pedicure. They took me in within 10 minutes of getting there. My nails looked great when I walked out. Fast forward one week later and the gel polish from one of my toe nails had completely slid off. I went back and they were kind enough to redo my toenail for free. I was happy my nails were looking great again. Unfortunately, a couple of days later 3 more of my toenails had the gel polish just slide right off. I've gotten plenty of gel manis and pedis and they all last at least 3 weeks. I used to get my pedicures at Vessel and the service went down the drain... years later thought I would give it another try, since I received a gift certificate. Well, BIG MISTAKE! I've been going to Vessel Day spa for years. Overall, I felt it was the best pedicure place because the fumes are usually minimal, the atmosphere is nice, and the place is clean. Sometimes the pedicure is good, sometimes it is messy. Some of the employees are nice and others are horrific. Last visit I asked the lady - who was rude as could be- to please be careful with my toes and legs. She kept yanking my feet sideways to get better angles on my toes. I asked her again to be more gentle and she gave me the stink eye. Although the pedicure was well done, I now have a torn knee. I am so disappointed with the standard of care here. I don't usually write reviews, but this place was terrible. As someone whose in the industry I know the basics on how nails should be done. Steps were skipped on applying my gel nails so I'm curious to see how long they last. Further more the lady was very aggressive. She was shoving my hand around and acting like I was an inconvenience for her. She was very rude to my 6 year old daughter and her friend who were just trying to enjoy getting a cute manicure for Christmas. She was basically yelling at them to sit still when they weren't even moving. We won't be going back here and will never refer anyone to them. This isn't how a business should be ran. I treated myself to a pedicure hoping to relax after a long day with migraine. The pedicure treatment itself was good, but I felt rushed selecting my polish, my gal didn't let go about the bad condition of my feet and the entire time trying to upsell me on gel polish, how I need to come in every month (she went on to say if I didn't do that my feet may become deformed) and I should buy a gift certificate for myself. One time mentioning may have been ok, but this went on most of the time. And I guess she thought she was funny boasting about what great work she does. These people are so rude they make you feel like you're doing something wrong. My mother called and made an appointment for us to get our nails done she told them she wanted it gel, when we got there they started doing our nails everything was fine. Then they asked my mom if she wanted long nails (which we did) the two manicurists doing our nails threw a big fit and they were upset because they thought we just wanted gel on her finger nails. They made me feel so uncomfortable but I stayed and tried to make the best of it. They moved me and started gluing my nails I got them glued on, I'm not sure if it was the owner's husband or not but he told me next time you need to let us know that you want longer nails I told him I'm not the one who made the appointment and then he's going back and forth with my mom saying that next time she needs to explain what she needs, mind you this is in front of all the other customers. I start thinking to myself that I really want to leave they've made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome and embarrassed that I just wanted to walk out the door so after waiting 35-40 minutes in the chair with nails glued on I decided to walk out! I will never walk through those doors again and I recommend that nobody else does either! They need to learn how to treat people with respect and not make them feel embarrassed!! I have come here several times now for a gel manicure and feel I must write this review. Each time the actual product of my nails turns out well and lasts me usually 2-3 weeks before chipping. However the service isn't always at the top of the game. They're very busy and in such a rush it's hard to relax while getting my nails done. The second time I came in, I made an appointment a week prior. I come in for my appointment and let the lady at the front know I had a scheduled appointment. She looks at me like she has no idea what I'm talking about before even checking the book while saying "oooookayy" dragging out this word. I tell her my name and that I made this appt a week ago, so she looks at her books and says ok have a seat. There is a group of girls behind me who loudly says they called this morning to make an appt for a gel mani the same time I had one so she tells them confidently to sit down. 15 minutes after my scheduled appt go by and I'm still waiting. Finally the lady at the front calls one of the girls up to have a seat for her gel mani even though I should have been first. I wait to see what happens and the owner corrects her and has me sit down instead. While the product of my gel mani's usually turn out ok, the service here is too chaotic. I am now looking for a new place to get my nails done but I would come back here as a backup. read more

Like some of the others posted here I really hate writing bad reviews. I don't know what has happened to Vessel. It use to be THE place to go. My sister visits every year from Colorado and we always go to Vessel for pedicures. So here goes. Last Saturday I went in, after making an appointment the day before. I had a regular pedicure and a gel polish manicure. I, like the others that posted, had three different people working on me (who do you tip? I ended up giving three tips) according to the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology Nail and Manicurist fact sheet, "your operator should never use illegal tools like razor callous shavers or metal scrapers or graters "... My painted toenails started chipping two days after my pedicure. Mind you, I was going on vacation the next day and wanted them to look nice. The bottom of my left foot is a mess. My right foot isn't any better. They use these "cheese graters" to "take off calluses". It's more to just tear up your feet. I haven't sleep well all week due to the pain. Also cheese grated my big toes. Again more pain. Then onto "Danielle". I literally cannot stand this women. There's no relaxing here. She screams at everyone including her clients. I think the polish they use is cheap. And the gel cards do not reflect the color they put on your nails, again cheap gel polish. . My color was awful, nothing like the sample. I called to see if they would correct it as I was leaving the next day. They did not care one iota. They told me to come later in the day, I said I couldn't as I was leaving on vacation AND they wanted to charge me $15. Also Danielle's husband cut my cuticles to bleeding status. Then passed me onto "her". My nails could not have looked worse. She didn't care just yelled at me to keep my hand still (I hadn't moved it after she positioned it) as she proceeded to glob on this cheap gel polish. No more. This place has lost the status it once had. Wake up Danielle. You are rude to your staff and to your clients. Seriously, how can you have a good relaxing experience while she's yelling across the room. I want to add, my husband, who really doesn't notice these things noticed this. He was appalled at the condition of my heels and the dried blood on my cuticles. But especially my heels. We took all these pictures to file a complaint with the State. He said " you will lucky if you don't get an infection". No more Vessel. No more recommendations to anyone. Does Yelp have minus stars? read more

One of the best pedicures I have ever had. My nail technicians name was Nguyen, and I am sure that's not how it is spelled. They didn't have exactly the OPI color I was looking for, however I did find a nice one. The room I was in was tastefully decorated, and the deluxe pedicure was great! Came in and got a pedicure, asked for a flower design and the woman did just that, and then continued to add weird other designs to the flower, when I told her I just wanted the flower, she flips out starts yelling about "you no tell me, you show someone what you want", grabbed her paints and stormed off. I always go here for pedicures. They are amazing. But I will never go for a manicure again. The lady put my hand in the position it needed to be in and I didn't move my hand at all but she got frustrated saying I wasn't holding my hand right and was constantly pulling at my arm and hand. I get it you need the right angle and what not but so angry about it?? Not only that but she cut me using the tool to shave your nail down. Vessel is right on point with other salons in the area in terms of price--$25 gel mani, $9 toe polish change, for example--but the experience is definitely more akin to a day spa than the alternative, aka florescent "churn and burn" nail salons in town. The ambiance at Vessel is comfortable but upscale with mood lighting and neutral colors. The skilled technicians are thorough, fast, and make conversation. Wow this place has gone down hill, came in for a Deluxe pedi and the girl totally hacked my big toe... To the point I complained and both owners came and had to talk to her... The rest of the pedi went down hill... As I'm waiting I notice a cockroach still alive being swept up... I get it critters happen but come on! It has been a while since I have been but it is not because of anything bad it is because of my schedule. I have been there a few times: a manicure, pedicure, and a color change. Each time I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience there. The manicures (deluxe) where done well, lasted for a long time and the estheticians actually tried to have conversations with me. The scrubs, wax, and massages where killer and both my friend and I enjoyed as this was our first time here and where led here by fellow yelpers! The pedicure was done really well as well.... I still have it from June the only thing is that nail has grown out quite a bit.... They offer water, tea and wine (inclusive in the cost of the pedicure) they did a great job of removing the calluses although the implement looks kind of scary ( a big rasp or file about 3 inches wide about 8 inches long with big peaks and valleys) and after done removing the calluses they come in and clean the floor. They then do a hot rock leg massage which is very marvelous. My other friend who I took here because of my great experience with the manicure and never had a pedicure got mildly addicted to the pampering :) They also give you own nail file and buffer when you get a manicure or pedicure The prices to me are a couple bucks more than others places I have been to and they aren't as nearly as good as here. read more

We made appointments for 3 pedicures. One person was 5 minutes late we offered to call her and they said no don't worry, relax. Mean time they start working on our toes and it is painful. Our friend arrives and they tell her she is too late she will have to wait to see if they have time for her. They won't even let her walk over to talk to us. She ended up leaving so our girls day was a bust. For the 2 of us who got pedicures we were hurt with digging under the toe nails and filing the callouses very hard. So for multiple reasons which include being rude, snappy, bossy and rough we will never return again. To top it off they have a $2 coupons on their website and would not honor it. read more

Very nice and professional looking inside. Danielle did my nails and it was AWFUL. She was very rough and stiff with her movements. She did not ask the length or shape I wanted my nails, she just did as she pleased. She drilled my nails and every other nail got way too hot, it burned and was very painful. She used a skinny drill to drill underneath my nail, and THAT was extremely painful. She blamed the burning on previous chemicals from a different salon. I left the salon with a painful burning sensation underneath a couple of my nails. It is now 8 hours later and my nails are STILL hurting and burning. If you were to go to this salon, DO NOT let Danielle touch your nails. It will be painful. read more
