General observations: The place is clean, the chairs for pedis are new and nice and have great massage options that aren't complicated lol. Their nail polish selection is decent, many OPI items (they do have a '$3 more' area i didn't look at too). They are 'feet sanitary' in that they have sealed packs of files and foot buffers. They use quick dry top coat for fingers so you won't have to wait long to be out the door. I did make an appointment ahead of time by phone. Glad I did as it was at least an hour wait for walk-ins. Ask for Patty! See details on that toward the end! The reason this review got 3 starts vs 1 is because of her. I'm not sure of her full technique and quality of work, but I suspect you'd be happy. Total agreement with reviewer Denise in general. I generally ask for male technicians as they tend to do a better job. I wish I'd read her review before I went! Denise's experience was very similar to mine - I had Jimmy. Less than 1 hr for mani pedi. Pedi: He didn't talk to me other than 'what toes' when i mentioned prone to ingrown nails. I asked him at the beginning to be gentle with my toes as they are sensitive and I've had surgery on them...he was not gentle. For scrub and lotion, he put it on my legs, spread it over them, then rinsed/wiped it right off...no rubbing in. My fault for not noticing before the paint was on, but my nails are not straight or shaped per my request..indeed barely used the emery board-like a light swipe once over them. Mani: Cold water to soak my fingers in. Put on cuticle oil then started in on them, no time to soften. Did not clear away extra skin around my nails. Did not buff the tops. Did not even attempt to get the edges that end up under your nails when you do a big file job. It was at this point he asked for payment. I asked to use the file to get the rough edges fixed and if he'd fix 2 nails that weren't straight when i was done. So i did...he was talking to another technician during this time in a loud agitated tone. I then pointed to the ones that needed to be fixed (I've done this during plenty of manicures and there has never been an issue) he did the same look he did when i asked about my feet...at the time of my feed i wasn't sure if it was a cultural thing of how he acted, but now i realize it was him being a d. He did a blank yet 'really?' look for each of these...long pause...then huffed and did something. They still weren't straight so i asked him to do more. Again...attitude, etc. Next step would be to wipe nails with acetone to remove oils and nail file dust...he swiped over 3 nails then started with base coat. At nail 4 i asked him to please wipe my nails so the polish would stay. Again, the look, aggravated talking to someone, asking again what i wanted, huffing, talking to someone, then he storms up and says she's going to finish you and huffs off. In comes Patty. I'm feeling bad...I'm never rude or hoity about my requests, always friendly and light, I never want to offend anyone...yet here I am. I told her i was sorry i upset him, that wasn't my intention. She was fine, she asked what the problem was and what i wanted. She wiped down my nails and did a take her time, nice job of painting my nails. Funny enough, she saw the extra skin around my nails and cleaned that up as she went, taking care and detail. I think she even commented to Jimmy about it. She was patient and did a nice job. So, in agreement with Denise, if they don't want the bad rep to continue - they need to get rid of Jimmy! read more

Went for a pedicure because I got a gift card. Terrible. He pretended to push cuticles, cut cuticles. Barely even trimmed my toe nails. The "massage" could have been done better by my 4 year old along with the paint job that covers the center of my toenail. I don't usually do reviews but I am beyond disappointed in the service I received here 0/10 would not recommend. I've been here a couple times just for a gel pedi and my last visit has been my worst. The guy who did my toes rushed it and my paint job wasn't well done. And it honestly looks like I've had my toes done for weeks though it's only been a couple of days. I wish that was the worst of my complaint but it's not. I usually do my own nails at home but was pressed for time as I was going on a family vacation and asked if he can just file off the top coat of my nails so it can be an easy soak when I get home. I asked him multiple times not to make the file touch my nail bed and of course he did. My nails are totally RUINED! It hurts to take hot showers and to even touch my nails. You can even see blood spots underneath my nail bed. My nails are beyond rough. Even after I lightly buffed it to make them a little more even. You can see the pattern of his drill bit embedded into my nails. I have been on a healthy nail journey for the past two years and have been making extra efforts to keep my nails healthy and it was all ruined in the 5 minutes it took him to file my nails so deep that it even hurts to type this review. I was hopeful when I walked into this salon. It's very and clean. Their tools were clearly sealed in sterile packages so that was great. I had tried to come a few previous times and the wait would have been an hour a minimum. I was hoping that meant that they were amazing. I asked about the wait time when I entered. I was told 10-15 mins so I decided to wait. I picked my nail color right away as they asked me to do so and I sat down. Then a man kept asking me to pick a color he was so rude. I had told him multiple times I had already. My 10-15 min wait turned out to actually be 55 mins. So that kind of stunk. The same rude man did my nails. I ended up bleeding in 3 places on my fingers. He was so grumpy when I asked him about a powder manicure. I just decided to stay quiet the rest of my visit. I can't say I'm impressed with the gel manicure I got. It is not as high quality as I've received at other salons. Maybe if I had another technician it would have been a better experience. So I may go back again just to see since it was so clean. But I will not allow the same man to do my nails. Update. I just adjusted down to 1 star. I'd give zero if I could. I'm 5 days into my Gel manicure. I went in after 24 hours to have a few nails fixed. So maybe technically I'm 4 days in. The Gel polish is completely coming off. This is supposed to last 2 weeks right. read more

I love this place very much. The place is great and they do an amazing job, but once I came to Vestal Nails and Spa with a coupon that I got from the Nail Salon for Christmas that was for $10. The coupon just said $10 and so I went with my sister and mom . We all got medicine and pedicure thinking that the price would be 40 or 50 dollars. We go to the checkout and the person there says that it was about $80. The worker says that the coupon is just for $10 off. I was really MAD!!! I could not believe that would misrepresented us with the coupon. I just wish that it was more clear in the coupon and they told us that it was not $10 per set. read more

When this place first opened I really liked it. It's very spacious and clean. YoYo did my nails the first two times, and even though she never did them how I asked, they looked good enough. I kept coming, mainly out of convenience. Fast forward to last September when I went in for a gel manicure and pedicure. YoYo hadn't been there in months, so I no longer had "my person" and would go to whomever could take me. Like most of the other reviewers here, I had Jimmy. Now I had him in the past and he was never particularly friendly, but I just ignored him mainly. The last time I went there I had to get my old gel manicure removed first- Jimmy asked me about 27 times what new color I wanted. I had been there like, 2 minutes and had foil wrapped around my nails, I couldn't even look at the swatches! He just became more and more rude while I waited until I asked him to just stop, said I would pay him for the removal but I wanted nothing else and I would go elsewhere. The owner stepped in and she was very sweet but made excuses for him when I told her he was always rude and in a hurry. THERE WAS NEVER ANYONE ELSE IN THE PLACE!! I really liked this salon and I'm actually sad I had to stop going because of him. I never complain EVER but that day I had reached my limit of his rudeness to customers. I went to get a pedicure and the dip powder for my fingers. I went sat, mind you it was late and I was the only one in the place, it was 45 min and I was done for both ... and $80 damn bucks later! So yea everything looked pretty, "Jimmy" which I'm sure is his salon name, gave me a horrible first experience at this place. The next day, less than 24 hours later, a nail broke. I cursed and yelled because what did i just pay that much money for ? So Monday, I go in before work to have them fix my nail and I told them they were all way too thin and it was just going to keep happening if they didn't redo all of them the right way. They all had that confused look on their face wondering why on earth I would want them all done "right" when they clearly looked fine to them. Fast forward 2 more days and guess what we have 3 more nails that broke. So I went in on Thursday and told Mr. Jimmy all needed to be redone and explain what happened with the first nail. He had the nerve to say no this one is fine ... I said no shit because it was fixed already. I said either give me my money back so I can go somewhere else ( which he literally laughed at me for saying that and said no ) or you can fix all of them. So I sat down for him to fix them. I was so pissed at that point because he literally only took off the 3 broken ones and refused to fix them all and today another one broke. The place is beautiful yes, but it's all for show because the service and product are crap. My toes are killing me from the pedicure and I'm now up to 6 broken nails in 6 days. First off, let me say if I could leave a "0" star review I would. I am visiting from out of town, and decided to treat myself to an relaxing pedicure. This pedicure was anything but relaxing. It was rushed from start to finish. Given I was the ONLY customer in the spa for the entire time, I would have thought more time would have been given to me. However, the lotion, massaging of my legs and feet were simply 2 quick brushes down my legs. I walked in to the salon at 9:55, and was home inside my house at 10:35. So, when the lady who gave the pedicure was annoyed at the fact I gave her a $3 tip, perhaps she should have rethought her time spent with me. The spa itself is beautiful, and obviously well equipped. The staff however, needs lessons on customer service and how to provide it so the customers will return. read more

I honestly wish I could give this place zero stars. Now, I have given place a fair shake, but this is the second time I have been here and the staff has not listened and treated me rudely. I explained to the gentleman doing my pedicure that I wanted a gel French and he cut me off rudely and did my pedicure and then started painting with with regular nail polish. When I questioned him about it he acted surprised and again was rude to me, I explained to I did tell you that's what I wanted when you cut me off. I decided to try this new business. They advertised a grand opening special. I guess you get what you pay for. I was very disappointed. I made an appointment and was directed to "Jimmy". He never said a word the entire time (which was less than 1 hour for a manicure and pedicure - talk about rushing and doing a half ___ job. During the pedicure he cut my cuticle too short and it bled and during the manicure he came very close to cutting me while he was trimming my nails. I flinched and he seemed annoyed and never apologized. I have experienced many manicures and pedicure and the procedure at this salon (possibly only by Jimmy) was extremely fast and furious. He soaked my finger in cold water?? barely used the emery board on my feet or nails and literally slapped the polish on my nails. It was very disappointing. In my eyes Jimmy gave the new business a bad reputation and one I would not use again. read more
