They are very reasonably priced, and they never push unnecessary test on you. I've recommended everyone and anyone I know with a fur baby and everyone absolutely adores this clinic. What makes a veterinarian clinic great ... it's staff!…read more Thank you so much for taking my dog in today. I left a message this morning to see if my dog could get her nails clipped. I was concerned that my dog couldn't be seen since we are traveling here from California. Within a few minutes one of the ladies from the clinic returned my call and reassured me they could clip the dogs nails. Upon arrival the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. While waiting for the vet technician to take my dog I could see how well various staff assisted other clients. Everyone was served with kind individual care. The vet technician caring for my dog was gentle and accommodating to my dog ( who has a metal pin in one of her back legs resulting in limited wear on the nails on that paw... my dog was so comfortable after having her nails clipped she didn't try bolting out of the clinic... she calmly waited while I paid and drank water ( which the staff kindly provided to the animal waiting). They…read morecharge less than other vets indeed for the 1st consultation but it seems to be a marketing thing...because on the 2nd and 3rd visit they found all kind of tests to carry out and prescribed way too many meds for a pet that has been stable since the last 3 years. Admittedly my pet requires regular follow ups but I was never asked to carry out so many tests where I previously lived. And meds were kept to a minimum for the pet's sake. The doctor was not overly friendly with my pet. Previous vets I saw took their time to reassure him and ear his trust but here they were in a hurry and I almost felt like they treated him like a car to repair. To the point where he was very stressed. A few times I asked some questions about his condition but the responses I got were pretty vague. Everywhere else I have been there was the option to pay in installments but not here. They expected $500 right away (this was not an emergency, just a regular check up).When I asked if it was possible to pay in 2 installments (as I did not expect such a high fee) they looked at me like I was trying to avoid payment and made them waste their time. I had to ask for a quote before all the tests were carried out because otherwise they were just proceeding oblivious to my presence. I have owned pets all my life and dealt with many vets. These were the ones who impressed me the least. I would not go back. I do not recommend them. There are many better clinics in Montreal where they don't deal with customers with attitude and take time to discuss options/interact with your pet.

When I picked him up, the vet assistant opened up the cage to show me the sutures and they realized only then they had forgot to remove the IV... but kitten didn't want to go back in. When the vet came out and saw this, he took him into a room roughly, I heard the kitten scream and he came back out front with it in its cage... with all this brouhaha, they forgot to tell me he needed a follow up appointment to remove the sutures but of courses, blamed me for not "listening". Never, ever again. I've been working for years to together that cat to stop peeing himself when he sees a transport cage.

The exam room is nice, I enjoy the tall chairs which allow for an owner to sit and still be close to their animal. The tech left us after taking my cat's temperature, and we sat in the exam room for a good 40 minutes before the vet came in, and she apologized and explained that she was going over his files from our previous vet, so I was very happy that she wanted a thorough understanding of him. The exam was standard, she addressed all my concerns perfectly and even made some helpful suggestions about his care. Confident this will be our new family vet.

My pet was seen by Dr Touret, vet oncologist there on Fridays. Dr Touret took me and my pet 15-20…read moreminutes later than scheduled appointment each time, and then cut appointments short . Receptionist told me when I booked first appointment that appt's with Dr Touret are booked for 1 hour long time slots. The price is 200$ per hour plus tax and I never got more than 20- 30 mins of the 1 hour I paid for. In addition Dr Touret cut corners in my pets care despite cancer diagnosis, and me requesting tests, and put me off on multiple occasions. It appears from her reaction in consultation she didn't read chart sent over from my pet's regular vet. Nor from the Centre Vet Laval where she works out of most days. She referred me to ER at Centre Vet Laval for a serious issue, yet didn't appear to have read the resulting notes then either. Despite the cancer diagnosis, she did not listen to my concerns and brushed me off . She is detached, and lacks urgency. She claims on her Cancer Vet Montreal website to guide and support you and your pet with compassion, and empathy, through this difficult time. NOT my experience at ALL with her. Very very dissatisfied. Be Careful!!!!! My experience was she was disingenuous, and she refused to answer questions about how she handled certain issues, and denied my request for imaging tests, and then at another appointment said she didn't do them because I did not want them which is completely false. I asked multiple times at multiple appointments for imaging, and she said "not needed". But for me, it was very important when making decisions for medical care. This is my choice to make, not hers, and she denied me that. Perhaps there was something else that can be done, perhaps, I would change my mind on certain choices in care that I was leaning towards. .However, this seemed not to matter to her. This is super alarming to me, that she thinks that it is ok. I had to go to another vet, across town to have imaging to ensure to make the right medical choices for my furbaby. I honestly felt she was not 100% interested at all in helping,. This is my beloved pet, and she should be understanding of the stress a pet parent is under, with cancer diagnosis and be more willing to recommend things or give pamphlets if is too much for her to explain. Never, will I ever recommend to anyone I know with a pet. If you love your pet, please, please, please, please go elsewhere.

It's small, but has a very efficient and dedicated staff. From the get-go, I could see and feel the difference. They were diligent, helpful, shared their knowledge with you and made sure to explain things accurately. They've treated my dog for various reasons and have always managed to give her back to me with her tail wagging and in much better health. I would recommend them to anybody, hands down. The team at MVH really takes care of you, and more importantly, your pet.

I took my cat there three times and each time she would jerk her hand away from my cat when he resisted being examined. To be fair, he's an obstinate kitty but he's 100% not vicious. His claws are trimmed (by me) and he nips a bit. I would understand an average person being cautious, but a vet reacting by jumping away? Not cool. Every time I went, she tried to convince me to sedate him. And every time my cat was more afraid. I also find that they are very quick to additional tests and treatments. My cat is energetic and playful, his coat is healthy, he eats well, is a healthy weight and stays indoors. Because she couldn't examine his teeth, she recommended I have him sedated to get X-rays and a teeth cleaning (even though from what she did see his teeth were ok). It all felt excessive and I eventually went to another vet who knew how to handle my cat better and took a less invasive approach. Maybe we just had different life/medical philosophies but I wouldn't recommend this for a cat with any spunk unless you don't mind medicating for each trip.
