I do not recommend this vet. I've had multiple experiences here that left me feeling frustrated and…read morehonestly taken advantage of as a pet owner. Most recently, I brought my cat in for an eye issue and was quoted over $600 for an exam, sedation, tests, and medication. The price immediately felt extremely high, especially for an eye infection, so I decided to call another veterinary clinic to compare. The other clinic examined both of my cat's eyes, and the total cost came out to under $120 including medication. They also determined that sedation was not necessary at all. My cat was calm, friendly, and even purring during the exam, which made me question why sedation was being pushed so strongly at the first clinic. This clinic does not allow pet owners to accompany their animals due to "safety protocols," so it left me wondering how my cat was being handled during the visit. Another frustrating part of the experience is that you don't actually speak directly with the doctor. All communication goes through the technician, who goes back and forth between you and the doctor. As a pet owner, I would much rather speak directly with the veterinarian responsible for my pet's care, instead of receiving information through a middle person. At the other clinic, the doctor was with me during the entire exam, explaining everything step by step, which felt much more transparent and reassuring. What also shocked me was that they mentioned charging a fee for each CPR attempt in case of an emergency. As a worried pet owner, hearing about additional charges like that felt extremely discouraging and overwhelming. Isn't the priority supposed to be protecting the life of the animal under their care? This unfortunately isn't my first bad experience here. During a previous visit, my cat needed a cast. After the procedure, she was still sedated and very sleepy, and the cast fell off immediately after we got home. She had barely moved, so it clearly wasn't my fault or my cat's fault. I called the clinic hoping they would fix it since it appeared to be an issue with how the cast was applied, but they charged me again to redo it. At the time I didn't push for a refund because my cat's wellbeing came first. Looking back now after this second experience, I truly feel I deserve a refund for that cast, since the issue was not caused by anything I did or by my cat. I do want to say that the front desk staff have always been kind and supportive, and I appreciate them. However, overall my experiences with this clinic have been very disappointing. I care deeply about my cat and want a veterinary office that is honest, transparent, and focused on the animal's wellbeing, not adding unnecessary services that dramatically increase the bill. There are other veterinary clinics in the area that provide great care without making pet owners feel this way. I strongly encourage others to seek a second opinion before committing to treatment here.

Review for Rialto Animal Hospital…read more I can't speak highly enough about my experience at Rialto Animal Hospital! From the moment I stepped in, it was clear that they prioritize not just the health of the pets but also the well-being of their families. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel at ease right away. Dr. Guirges is absolutely amazing. She took the time to explain every detail regarding my dog, Juno, who is a 4-year-old husky mix with a torn CCL. Her clarity and thoroughness made a potentially stressful situation much easier to handle. You can really tell that she cares about what's best for the animals in her care. The vet tech, Rebecca and Manager, Genevieve were equally as helpful answering my many questions and concerns in person, via phone calls and emails. They were very professional and did an outstanding job keeping me in the loop on Juno's care. The follow-up was impressive as well. They got back to me quickly with a surgery date for Juno, which I greatly appreciated. It's evident that the team at Rialto Animal Hospital is committed to providing top-notch care and support. If you're looking for a place where both pets and their families are treated with kindness and respect, Rialto Animal Hospital is the place to go!

Brought my kitten in for multiple issues, one being an eye issue that the veterinarians diagnosed as an eye infection/upper respiratory infection. Was prescribed oral antibiotics and eye antibiotics. No change happened and told the office this and asked if it could be feline herpes. They said no because his SNAP test came back negative (snap test does not test for feline herpes.....) and prescribed more oral antibiotics and a different eye ointment. Still no change, so asked again if it could be feline herpes.....they still insisted it wasnt feline herpes and switched eye meds, again. Brought him back to office again as he developed sneezing, nasal discharge and no change in eyes.....this time they said they believe its feline herpes! He then got prescribed oral antivirals and a different antibiotic. I was given only 10 tablets out of 28 tablets prescribed for the antiviral because they had to order the rest. I was told they would arrive by the latest on Wednesday (which was the day he would be completely out of meds) and that they would call me when to pick up the medications. I called them on Wednesday (the day I was told meds would be there by) because I had heard nothing from them and my kitten already missed one dose because I ran out of tablets and was told the medication did not come in yet and it could arrive tomorrow (spoiler: it didn't). I explained to them that the kitten was completely out of tablets because I wasnt given enough and he was out and asked if they could call the prescription to my local pharmacy which I verified had the medication in stock. They refused to call in a prescription to the pharmacy because they "dont call in prescriptions to pharmacies" and that i couldnt pick up even a hard prescription until the following day when the veterinarian he saw was in. Again I explained that he would be missing 3 doses of this medication (or more depending on when the prescription was ready to pick up) and asked if that was something I needed to be concerned about or if he had to then repeat the 14 day course. They couldnt even get me that answer, I would have to wait to even get the question answered on the next day. They seemed perfectly fine having my kitten miss doses of his medication and was not willing to work with me to ensure he was able to continue his treatment. Also the fact that they didnt listen to my concerns about it originally being feline herpes which if they had tested him or explored that route when I had originally asked it would have saved me money due to not needing to buy and give 3 different eye meds. Another thing that really bothered me was not they not have seperate sitting areas for dog and cat owners (though they were fairly fast at getting us into a room). Having an area away from dogs helps keep felines less stressed and more comfortable at veterinary offices. During the office exams also, they would always take my kitten in the back room for the exam instead of doing it in the room with me. As an AHAA accredited hospital, I would have hoped they used their recommendations to help reduce stress for the cat by not only having seperate areas for cats, but doing the examination in the room with the owners. I also felt that they were keeping him in back so much longer then necessary even after the exam was clearly done....even though no further treatment was being done and the doctor was just going over the exam then the technician came in to get authorization for my payment for medications. It wasnt until after I consented to payment that they brought back my kitten to me in the room. My kitten also ended up having a reaction to one of the vaccines, developing a good sized hard lump on his back right leg. Though the veterinary office did respond back with a "lot number" and manufacturer information on the vaccine, they showed no signs of wanting to report the reaction to the drug manufacturer/appropriate parties or even caring that my kitten had a reaction. And when I did report the adverse reaction myself to the manufacturer, the lot number given was wrong according to the manufacturer but they were going to contact the veterinary office themselves to try to get the right information and go from there.

I think they have a large turn around with vets coming and going. I would like to be able to see a doctor I prefer and that would get to know my pets, but I would never get an appt if that were the case. This last time I went in I once again saw a new vet and my cat had a very common symptom, easily fixed but I was given 2 options...basically do nothing or get over $600 worth of tests! I declined the tests as I thought it was ridiculous overkill to run all those tests when I know my cat really does not need them. They never want to treat the exact symptom but instead right away run a ton of expensive tests. Vets used to try the simplest treatment FIRST and then if that did not work go onto the next, but they want to try to skip to the worst possible diagnosis and start with the most extreme treatment first which is the most expensive. This makes me think they are just trying to make money. I used to be a vet tech for years and I know when they are adding a bunch of unnecessary tests and this has saved me thousands of dollars. Literally about 90% of the time it ends up my cat did NOT need the tests and bloodwork they suggested.
